As a kid the Mitsubishi symbol looked like the the Triforce from Legend of Zelda and I loved it. My dad passed down his Initail D books to me and I also fell in love with the lancer from there too. My mom gave me her cord focus that was barely alive and when I had to get a car after that my dad had just got a black 2004 lancer LS. Instead of buying another car my dad sold it to me for 2000 because of the debt I was in. I’ve now caught up with that debt and I’ve started taking an interest in sprucing my lancer up, even if it will be a little bit at a time. Thank you for this video!!
As an owner of both the wrx gc8 and the evo 7... it was a sad moment in history when Mitsubishi ended production of the evo series. I love the wrx and always wanted one so I eventually did. Owning an evo seemed a little more out of reach at that time. And after Mitsubishi ended the evolution legacy.. I realized how rare the evos actually are. Wrx are a dime a dozen but I still cherish my gc8. But love my evo Just that little bit more!

i really cant thank nfsug2 enough for introducing me to the evo. i was a youngling with a ps2 and i usually dismissed the evo bc idk why i just use to really love the 350z. but then one day i decided "hey lets try the evo 8" and i fell in love. from that day forward whenever i got to use the evo 8/9, i would use it. nfs, initial d, even maximum tunes. i have fallen in love with it so much that it basically became my main for every racing game i play.
I owned a EVo 4 from 2002 to 2004. It was a speed demon in its stock condition as mentioned in the video. Stock STI can never beat a stock EVO (any version) on a straight drag race. I had witnessed this myself. However, the only STI that came very close or a real opponent to an Evo was the 555 (22B) STI coupe.
I love both Evos and Subarus, but the 22B would beat any evo, its got 380hp. I will say that evos will beat an STI in a drag though, there wont be a whole lot in it tho since similar 1/4mile times.
Same, and I'm really pissed that Mitsubishi not only ended the legacy of the Lancer and the Lan Evo, but they fucking murdered everything it was by deciding to bring it back as a fucking crossover. I want a new Evo, even though I know I'll never buy it, because the STI is an incredible car, but since the Evo was discontinued, it has no competition. Subaru has no one to beat. Every great fighter or athlete needs a worthy opponent, and that's what the Evo was. So, unless some other company creates a new beastly rally sedan, the STI will stagnate and become a mockery of what it once was
@@kontio9186 From a Subaru guy, I can say that it's not. The Evo was independent, with it's only similarities with the WRX being that it's a 4 cylinder, AWD rally sedan. AWD and 4 cylinder engines are practically standard in rally cars, so the only similarity unrelated to their being rally cars is that they're sedans. If you're going to call cars copies just because they share a body class, then you're a fucking idiot. By that logic, the Camaro is a copy of the Mustang. Never mind the entirely different designs

My old dad drove a few import cars when he worked for a massive uk importer. He loved the evo 4, 5, and 6. His favourite was the Tommi mak edition. I never drove that. Dam. This video brought back a lot of memories. RIP dad.
I love the Evos. I remember seeing some Evo VIIs on rally races and on 2 Fast 2 Furious when I was a kid. I instantly fell in love with it! This is why the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII is not just my favorite Evo. But also, my favorite car. I like the VIII and the IX too but the VII will always be my favorite
As a Subaru owner and avid enthusiast I really don’t understand the rivalry....I mean, I do, but when you get down to it these are the two best AWD turbo vehicles ever built and they make damn good daily drivers. #AWDunite✊🏼 P.S. Do the WRX STI next.

I remember Evo originally as my uncle used to play NFS UG2 and nailed every race with it. I thought that and the Skyline R32 were unstoppable. That's when I fell in love with it. Watching it later in movies like Tokyo Drift (along with the 350z)and 2 fast 2 furious literally used to give me goosebumps. I guess that hasn't stopped even now.
As an owner of both a 9 MR and a 10 GSR, I have to disagree. The 4B11T motor has proved it self to be a great motor. Both of my cars are at 410awhp and the 10 sets a faster lap on the road course due to having ACY, which the US models of the 8 and 9 didn't get. Great video BTW. Keep up the good work.
X owner and I've driven a few 8s and 9s. It seems the cool thing to do is think of the X as a let down amongst the owners but I sure as shit don't feel that way everytime I get behind the wheel. The X handles amazing on good tires and even on shitty tires when the road is dry. As far as the 4b11. Clearly they are making big power now with the builds out there so the X really was a proper ending for the line. Mine is stock and still none of the sti people around here want to play in the dark.
I’ve owned two 2003 Evo 8’s both in BBY and loved them both! The first one I bought when they were brand new and kept it for about 2.5 years and I just recently bought another one that I’d like to replicate to look like my first car. The one I currently own has 245,000 miles and I’m super happy I bought it!
Mitsubishi also builds good AC units... And they also build good AC's into their production cars (got a Lancer, tho only the 2.0L Sport Sedan. Evos are way too expensive for me to buy)

The little me didn’t know anything about the progression and without any career progression whatsoever, the best car on the dealer was the Evo IX. I fell in love with it and it’s my favourite Evo. just watched this out of fun and my evo kid's heart that I mostly forgot, but to the question 'when was the first time you saw an evo', I'd say a decade ago, when I was ten. it was on a traffic-heavy highway and I was on a public fx with my mom, kinda sleepy... but then the lights turned green and the cars ahead cleared and suddenly, thunderous roars of lightning filled out the clear summer sky. To tell you. Mitsubishi did a join venture with proton way back in 1983. So you can see that everytime mitsubishi stop making a certain model of lancer. It will appear as a proton the following year. Like evo 4 stop. Proton came up with Proton Wira and hatchback neo. Evo 8 stop then proton came with proton waja. When evo 10 stop proton came with the Proton Inspira. (This one have the same engine). These cars are still running all over the country.

If I ever have a chance to have 2 toys I wouldnt mind it being an evo 8 or 9. I loved my sti but I like the top end power the evo makes a little better. All good cars in their own ways.

Being a Subie owner, I can tell you I still love the Evo Tommi Makinen Edition. Had graphics, white wheels, and choice of like 3 colors. Love the traditional red but the blue. Mmmm
The 7 is by far my favorite dream car for sure. The 8 is what made me fall in love with them. 2 guys at school had it and I fell in love with the car

This is just amazing! I have had 6G Galant VR-4, EVO I, EVO II and EVO III. Now i have Mitsubishi RVR, which has same engine than EVO VII and I'm trying to sell it, to get me an EVO V. I just can't get enought of these cars!
My old dad drove a few import cars when he worked for a massive uk importer. He loved the evo 4, 5, and 6. His favourite was the Tommi mak edition. I never drove that. Dam. This video brought back a lot of memories. RIP dad.

I love the Evos. I remember seeing some Evo VIIs on rally races and on 2 Fast 2 Furious when I was a kid. I instantly fell in love with it! This is why the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII is not just my favorite Evo. But also, my favorite car. I like the VIII and the IX too but the VII will always be my favorite

I remember Evo originally as my uncle used to play NFS UG2 and nailed every race with it. I thought that and the Skyline R32 were unstoppable. That's when I fell in love with it. Watching it later in movies like Tokyo Drift (along with the 350z)and 2 fast 2 furious literally used to give me goosebumps. I guess that hasn't stopped even now.

As an owner of both a 9 MR and a 10 GSR, I have to disagree. The 4B11T motor has proved it self to be a great motor. Both of my cars are at 410awhp and the 10 sets a faster lap on the road course due to having ACY, which the US models of the 8 and 9 didn't get. Great video BTW. Keep up the good work.
X owner and I've driven a few 8s and 9s. It seems the cool thing to do is think of the X as a let down amongst the owners but I sure as shit don't feel that way everytime I get behind the wheel. The X handles amazing on good tires and even on shitty tires when the road is dry. As far as the 4b11. Clearly they are making big power now with the builds out there so the X really was a proper ending for the line. Mine is stock and still none of the sti people around here want to play in the dark.

I’ve owned two 2003 Evo 8’s both in BBY and loved them both! The first one I bought when they were brand new and kept it for about 2.5 years and I just recently bought another one that I’d like to replicate to look like my first car. The one I currently own has 245,000 miles and I’m super happy I bought it!

Just bought a evo 5 GSR and I absolutely love it. It literally forces you to drive differently you cant just floor it. You have to manually rev match, and spool up the turbos

I’m young and I first saw the Evo in NFS Underground 2. The little me didn’t know anything about the progression and without any career progression whatsoever, the best car on the dealer was the Evo IX. I fell in love with it and it’s my favourite Evo. As you figured out by now, I’m an Evo guy and an Evo can beat an Impreza any day :)

just watched this out of fun and my evo kid's heart that I mostly forgot, but to the question 'when was the first time you saw an evo', I'd say a decade ago, when I was ten. it was on a traffic-heavy highway and I was on a public fx with my mom, kinda sleepy... but then the lights turned green and the cars ahead cleared and suddenly, thunderous roars of lightning filled out the clear summer sky. I quickly looked out the window and turns out, it was the fkng evo iv. I got into googling it right after getting home and had my first dream car besides the fads of mustang, gt-r, silvia, wrx and cobra lol

Mitsubishi did a join venture with proton way back in 1983.
So you can see that everytime mitsubishi stop making a certain model of lancer. It will appear as a proton the following year. Like evo 4 stop. Proton came up with Proton Wira and hatchback neo.
Evo 8 stop then proton came with proton waja.
When evo 10 stop proton came with the Proton Inspira. (This one have the same engine).
These cars are still running all over the country.

vegarosa69 I've driven an evo 8 and an evo 9 and they're awesome cars. I love my mustang and I'm going to keep it for awhile. If I ever have a chance to have 2 toys I wouldnt mind it being an evo 8 or 9. I loved my sti but I like the top end power the evo makes a little better. All good cars in their own ways.
