These commentators are great. Great chemistry everything flows seamlessly. I wish these guys did fights in the US. Became a fan watching Hamed fights and when he did a fight with Malinaggi a while back.
watch this fight all the way through and was flabbergasted and utterly floored by the strength , tenacity and utter breathless skill shown by both fighters. One of the most frightening and awe inspiring fights ever.
@bret.frankman"ridiculous stoppage tho" Really?? Ridiculous stoppage?? Benn was done. Hurt, tired and NOT firing back. I think it was one of the best stoppages I have ever seen. Impeccably well-timed and compasionate. Great interviews as well. Wonderful fight, remember it as if it was yesterday.
Quality, what a finale - Benn got away with some cheeky shit in that fight, Eubank was given a rough ride probly cos of his arrogance. Best man won, Benn was brawling right from the get go and very nice with Eubank giving credit where credit's due. Benn also looked like Screamin Jay Hawkins in the interview :D
Commentator: Well it's an amazing performance, and it surprised a lot of people. Chris Eubank: I need to go to hospital. Sums up the whole fight really!!
Ricky Steele jumped in at exactly the right moment - he has great instinct for what's going on (as well as the obvious) and finished this like the 1st Tyson-Bruno 'fight'. After Mike had hit Bruno *seven* times, Steele was straight in. One more uppercut and Bruno's head would've landed in Ivana Trump's lap. Watch him as Chris launches his *second* attack - he's looking solidly at Benn's eyes and knows when the man's done.
@@truthsayer9847 Yes, that was ridiculous. He asked Taylor if he was OK but didn't give him a chance to answer before immediately calling it off. There was a fucking big flashing light right in front of Steele telling him there were seconds left in the fight but he ignored it. I wondered if Steele had some money bet on Chavez.
it's to do with mind set - training means having to control the mind too , a side effect of this is the ongoing mental inertia that needs feeding and that comes through the easy way .Faith. Real mental strength comes from true philosophy and mental discipline.
What a couple of warriors who sweated blood for their titles and money! And At 40:24 is one of the saddest moments in boxing - Benn starts crying as he realises it is all over and he's lost...
I still think that stoppage was a little early. Granted Benn was hurt but he was far from finished and it was pretty much the end of the round. Should have at least given Benn till the end of the round. It's boxing for gods sake!....not patter cake. Eubank would of probably gone on to finish Benn anyway but we'll never know now. At this point in his career Benn was known to get hurt in his fights and then come back to win. To be fair it's not the worst early stoppage I've seen and a reasonable argument could be made both ways but in my humble opinion they could of given him a little more time. He wasn't even engaging when Steele stepped in to stop it. Eubank was on the other side of the ring. Maybe the ref saw something we couldn't see who knows. Benns eyes were probably glazed over or he couldn't focus or some shit. Was a good fight though regardless and the beginning of an awesome rivalry.
Respect to both fighters and to Frank Bruno and Lennox Lewis in the audience. 4 Great British fighters only surpassed by Anthony Joshua! (RIP Henry Cooper) Rule Britannia. God save the Queen.
Nigel Benn was brutal just like Mike Tyson but his chin was suspect. Chris Eubank has a better chin than Benn and that what won Eubank the fight in the ninth.
Illyrian4life Benn is a sloppy fighter? Benn's only fault was he didn't pace himself, He beat some of the toughest guys around, Benn was the only one out of the UK fighters that wen't over to american and made made an impact, he was looking for the Jones fight, As he was also looking for Toney, Both avoided Benn, Benn beating McClellan was one of the biggest achievements seen in boxing, McClellan was bascaily brought over to the UK to beat the life out of Benn, And we all know what happened there, Would Jones been able to show the same heart? no chance in hell, Benn beat Barkey who again was another world class fighter, A fighter who beat Tommy Hearnes, Doug De Witt another world class fighter, Jones certainly did pick and choose who he fought, He most certainly avoided Benn and Collins. Benn avoided no one.
+Jaaay J ok. thats makes sense. now heres my reply. if you look at the eubank fights, collins fight, and the gerald fight, benn shows no boxing fundementals. all action ,yes but no technique. jones and toney would pick him apart. i also notice benn gights with a lot of emotion. this is why eubank ko'd him in there first fight. benn did much better the second fight as he seemed to enjoy himself. at the end of the day benn was a great fighter. i'm a fan but against toney and jones or hopkins. he would have lost. respect.
Illyrian4life Lol he lost to Collins when he was past it, Eubank first fight Benn tired himself out, Benn was alot better boxer than he was ever given credit for. Jones cherry picked his opponents Benn had all the fundamentals to beat jones, toney and hopkins
I love both of these men. This fight takes me back to the good days of boxing.
This is probably the greatest British vs British fight of all time.
I'd go as far as saying, this was one of the greatest sporting rivalries of all time. Shame we didn't get to see the 3rd fight
@@noodles169 still baffles me it didn’t get made 😓 one of the best era’s in boxing
The irony of These two Carribbeans having the most heart out of any British fighter

Anybody else notice lennox lewis next to frank bruno?
Me
But I don't know why they didn't introduce him
Miss this era 😭

benn and eubank are both great boxers and have to be admired all this talk is just hype
I like this fight

He didn't do such a good job in the Chavez v Taylor fight though!
@@truthsayer9847 Yes, that was ridiculous. He asked Taylor if he was OK but didn't give him a chance to answer before immediately calling it off.

If Eubank actually boxed with the proper technique, it makes you wonder how much better he could have actually been.
jjsheets330. He was too busy showboating.
I still think that stoppage was quite premature.
No mate
Benn was already lose power and remember his one eye closed so if Richard let them keep boxing he could get serious damage
Damn, the eye again like Cooper against Ali, where's Mickey from Rocky when needed.
The chin on Eubank...wow!!
This stoppage is worse than Froch Groves.
Chris had an iron chin.. Other boxers would of been stopped by those shots
Chris is one of the best and one of the funniest in boxing alongside prince naseem hamed.

I was surprised at how many of Benn's big shots Eubank took. In the first four rounds, Benn was landing at will.

Its great when the bigmouth goes out, benn had a lot of people behind him, but in 2013..not anymore
Good stoppage. He was out on his feet y'all
2 warrior's

For real? you've oviously never been to uk!
Nigel Benn was brutal just like Mike Tyson but his chin was suspect.

Dude? Serious ridiculous stoppage?
or kenny Bayless?? Steele was poor in the fight between Meldrick Taylor and Julio Cesar Chavez..
dislike because of the annoying side bars
benn is real sloppy fighter. jones jr would have an easy time with him.
+Illyrian4life Clearly you know nothing about boxing
+Jaaay J ok. i can respect your reply. explain in detail.

That was emosh
Why did Benn quit? A lot of Dog in this guy.
*****
Exactly, that's why he was looking for the exit.

Hey Benn better stay retired. When my man Floyd retires, me and Adrien Broner gonna take over Boxing. I just wanna acknowledge Al Haymon
+Uameamalositagata Nofoalii haha that was a good one, Adrien Broner takes over boxing, brilliant joke
Mario Zoisl
Broner already P4P the man. KO Amir Khan in 2.
