Good honest review 👏 merry Christmas to u and yours 😊
The battery gauge will check the voltage to estimate the state of charge. When in use the power draw causes a voltage drop, which would throw off the state of charge calculation and give a false low battery reading. So it disables when the tool is on!
Possibly!
Good review as always. Looking forward to spring.
Cheers!
I purchased a cordless Stihl version 36 volt and it’s brilliant. My goal was to go totally cordless with their range, then the lawn mower range was too limited for me and no roller for lawn stripes. So now I have multiple products all from different manufacturers and a box full of batteries and charges. My intentions were honest ! Great vid thanks. Regards Mike
I think Flawless Cleaning Services was given their full catalogue - he's really putting their stuff through it's paces as he clears gardens for the elderly for free. Currently I have fences not hedges. The only neighbour who does his hedge is getting on, so I'm hoping he'll give up soon as I'm worried every time I see him up a ladder.
Interesting - will check it out! 👍
I bought a Parkside/Lidl hedge trimmer two years ago, it has been possibly the best garden tool I have bought. I spray grease on the blades after each use. This Husky body looks very similar design to the Parkside.
I picked up a body-only DeWalt version as I was already on the yellow battery platform - looks very similar to your Husqvarna one there and it really handy at certain times of year!
Hi Andy, Great review on Husqvarna hedge trimmer, they do make good quality tools well know for the petrol powered garden tools. Husqvarna are known for the motorbikes and trial bikes. As always a great honest review, Take care👍
Cheers!
nice freebie👍husky in the same quality bracket as stihl😊the leaf rake is not something you normally get on a domestic cutter so really good.
I've had an 18v Makita for some time and it's brilliant, only as I'm in the Makita battery system.
Yup - got the Makita too! 👍
The makita 18v hedge trimmer and the grass strimmer are both great. I’ve got the 36v (2x 18v) mower. That’s not as impressive especially given its size but still ok. I got them as already on makita battery platform for main tools
Fair play, husqvarna is a top brand, it looks a good trimmer, the tip protector is a new addition, nice over view/ review
👍
Cheers Jason!
Oh that branch sweeper thing on top should be quite handy for the hedges.
Yup - very handy!
Timely! Actually in the market for a new hedge trimmer. Would have been nice to see some actual hedges being cut and some idea of battery life would be most useful - I have a lot of hedge to get through. Thanks.
Watch this space or my @andymac channel in Spring! 👍
You sure earned your money there, Mac.
If only! 😂👍
Thanks Andy, that looks like a handy bit of kit, will be interested to hear a longer term review in the spring, great that it's on the Power for all platform too !
Why is this not on your garden channel ?
Cheers! I tend to keep tool reviews etc. on here but I'll probably do a follow-up with a bit more hedge cutting over on @andymac in Spring 👍😁
While you had to try it out on something, lopping shears would have been best for that hawthorn? tree. The hedge trimmer best for a dense mesh of thin twigged hedge plants
Cotoneaster - quite a common hedge type! But yes, will get a workout on proper hedges next yet. 👍
I agree a wide opening is good, but in all honesty I prefer a narrow one😂😉
😂😂😬
Hi again Andy. I’ve gone over almost exclusively to cordless (DeWalt) kit and find it convenient and powerful, with the exception of 2ah batteries whose working life is woeful. Just as well I’ve got two of them. I mainly use them on my angle drill because they are light 🌞😂
@@djstuc Thank you for that advice. I’ve just been looking at them 🌞
@@djstuc 👍
Cheers Ray! 😎
It looks rather good! I had a Husquvana mains electric chain saw for cutting logs and it was very good. But 2.5 Amp-hour at 18 volts is only 45 Watt hours. So compared with a mains powered device typically 900 Watts it would only last 3 minutes - or the power must be minuscule?
Haven't fully put it through its paces yet so we shall see in Spring! 👍
I think a brushless motor might have been better for that tool. Thanks for sharing.
Love the channel and I know and use Husqvarna products a lot and they are a top and huge Swedish brand as well as own many other well known household brands. Albeit from the UK I live in Sweden and just for reference you pronounce it Huskvarna. There is no ‘a’ in the middle as you kept pronouncing it Husk-a-varna. I am spelling this phonetically 😂. Sorry not trying to be patronising but always good to know how it is pronounced. Again love the channel and house looks great. Keep up the good work. 👍
Ha I know, I think I got 'Husk-a-varna' from my old forestry friend - that's what he's always called it and it's stuck with me! 😂👍👍
I know and sorry to correct. It’s just because I live here and if i said that they would take the piss 🤣🤣🤣. But great review and looking forward to more tool reviews as well. 👍👍
Interesting to hear about the Power For All Alliance, just had a look, it seems that it's only for the consumer arms of the companies signed up, which as someone who tends to prefer the commercial grade stuff, is a little disappointing.
The professional equivalent is AmpShare. Also uses Bosch batteries, but the pro version.
Hopefully more firms will follow suit!
@@iamjohnmc thanks for the info, I will look into that.
@@GosforthHandyman yeah totally agree. Especially when you consider the environmental benefits long term.
Phillips free zone (tm Gosforth Handyman 😂)
Too right - sick of the sight of them! 😂
@@GosforthHandyman my latest was a Venetian blind, not bad quality for the blind and bracketry but all Phillips screws and cheapest of the cheap plugs went straight in the bin.
I also confess to inadvertently making my own hedge trimmer cordless and making the cable about 300mm shorter each time!
Everyone likes a trim bush, plus Husky can’t go wrong. BTW Andy TH-camr you may be, but not an American one, therefore messy bench shows you are worker
The only thing about battery tools you need a second battery, it will always run out before you finish. Just the way it is, be okay if you are on alliance platform
Yup - totally agree about multiple batteries! Leaf blower next. 👍
Did they give you that Husqvarna for making this video though? That is the question.
See start of vid. 👍
Sent for free, to keep? That IS sponsored.
Nope, very very different. Sponsored = CONTRACT and payment for making the vid. Sponsorship contracts normally include wording preventing me from saying anything bad about the product or mentioning any other brands. They also give an element of editorial contract to brands. Not something I've ever done on this channel.
Surely a cordless husky is just a dog not on a lead 😂😂
clever!
😂😂
so are you still using the Makita hedge trimmer?
