Now I present a much earlier recording of this exquisite dance band, waxed in 1926 during the Golden Years Of The Charleston Madness. The band was led at the time by Debroy Somers, founder of the orchestra in 1923.

A tune that couldn't be more 20's and this version is an outstanding alternative to others that might be better known. The arrangement is brilliant!

The tune was recorded in 1926 when the Charleston era was about the end and the black bottom arrived. That's perhaps why it sometimes sounds somewhat un-charlestonly :-)

A tune from before my mothers era but still immensley popular especially by dancing partners when my Dad and Mum went dancing. And naturally, I can sing along as well. Shame that there were no vocals tacked on with the dancing.
