The sound design on this is great, especially in part 1, the sound effects for the guns, the music, it's all straight from Genesis of the Daleks. When I listened to the scene when Davros' father is performing executions, for the first time I just pictured the trenches on Skaro in my head so easily.
Never thought I'd ever actually want to listen to I, Davros but I definitely do now after watching this video.

It’s a brilliant story of beginnings. Worth a many repeat listening to.

@Wingy Media 10:05 I think I can explain the love interest cause it could be because of stuff outside this story. Basically, there's another story that elaborates on Davros' past (called Davros), only it's a sixth Doctor story separate from this. Shan had more of an impact and a reason to exist there and I think this series came out after that story so Shan might partially be here for continuity's sake. That being said I can't think of a reason for Davros' father- maybe to show how Calcula uses people and manipulates even Davros?
Is there a part where Davros keeps his eyes shut? LOL

I've listen to the audio and it was great! Everyone's acting was on point. The tone was so grim...And it's pulled off so naturally. This doesn't feel like it's trying to be edgy. It feels like the story wants to properly set the stage for how absolutely horrific Skaro was during the end of of the Thal-Kaled War.
Haven’t heard it, but love Davros and find his story very interesting. I was hoping that the Doctor in Magicians Familiar etc would have had the compassion to find a way to redeem him somehow. Didn’t happen of course and the story didn’t have much to do with him, which I thought was a big mistake, as boy Davros was the most interesting character. Missed opportunity. So you’ve made this sound attractive. Looking forward to meeting his family. His mother sounds really dark. I’ll buy and have a listen. Thank you.❤️ Great review as ever btw. Ps. The love interest plot point was put in because of the Colin Baker story ‘Davros’, definitely worth a listen as well, but it’s just there to keep continuity
The Thals were the original warriors Dals were the scientists and philosophers.
The Thals had no resources to interrupt the mutation. The Dals / Kaleds had the intellect to interrupt the full circle of development.

There is a 5th part named I,Davros:The Davros Mission which isn't as good as the previous 4 in my opinion but it is still worth a listen for sure
