Emilia Clarke (HBO’s Game of Thrones), Henry Golding (A Simple Favor, Crazy Rich Asians), Michelle Yeoh and Emma Thompson star for director Paul Feig (A Simple Favor, Spy, Bridesmaids) in the romantic comedy Last Christmas, with a screenplay by Academy Award® winner Thompson (Sense and Sensibility, Bridget Jones’s Baby) and playwright Bryony Kimmings.
Kate (Emilia Clarke) harumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes, another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Tom (Henry Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate’s barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart.
Last Christmas features the music of George Michael, including the bittersweet holiday classic of the film’s title. The film will also premiere brand new unreleased material by the legendary Grammy-winning artist, who sold more than 115 million albums and recorded 10 No. 1 singles over the course of his iconic career.

I just can't stop thinking about how Emilia probably chose this movie because it reflects what happened to her and her near-death experience and then it just makes me sad.

4. Her boss is also of Asian descent, and we can’t have two minorities of the same race in a movie without them knowing each other or being blood related. He’s her dead son.

I just watched this on Netflix only because it was Christmas Eve but oh wow, this exceeded my expectations. Actors have a great chemistry. The film is funny, is romantic, is sad and finally is heartwarming. I love it with all my heart.

The is a warm, positive, sweet, generous, amazing movie of some years. I think the world need this kind of movie and lead people back to the track of love and care each other. Totally love it!
Positive? Her life at tend is very similar to what it is at the beginning. She's poor, has a dead-end job & a dysfunctional, miserable family.
Such an underrated film. It’s charming, funny, sweet, emotional and touching. It has a lot of heart! The chemistry between Emilia & Henry is just electric. Do yourself a favor and watch it!

I feel like it's been ages since we've got a good Christmss romcom in the style of The Holiday and Love Actually. Henry and Emilia are both adorable human beings. Also, I'm so happy it's set in London.

A 3-minute trailer is usually not a good thing. For a film like this a long trailer is fine, but they need to be careful with not giving away too much.
Longer trailers like the Justice League ones are fun to watch, but then by the time the movie comes out you gave a feeling that you've already seen the movie, so you have no motivation to pay for it.

Well, that is the beauty of watching the trailer of a movie, if it hasn’t sold you on it for two and a half to three minutes then there is no way you’re gonna spend money in a theater for two hours to watch it. It’s basically two to three minutes of free entertainment.
As long as it’s told well and I can emotionally empathize with the characters then it’ll be a good movie

I can see where people are coming from, they put the main themes in it, but it is a *3 minute trailer* for a movie that will be close to *2 hours* 120 minutes. Sooo... a 120 minute movie cannot possibly tell you the whole story in THREE MINUTES!

I agreed they put some things in they could have left out, but knowing Emma Thompson’s brilliance, especially as a screenplay writer, I think we may be underestimating some twists and turns Kate and Tom go through. Because that's reality. Happy endings don't exist in real life, movies like these are awakenings for you and its relatable to real life, life has its ups and downs as usual. All we can do is be the best version of ourselves no matter what obstacles are coming.

Honestly I'm very very grateful for this movie having been made. Firstly, the SOUNDTRACK. George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley were overdue for a complete soundtrack of their works, and even if it is dominated by George's back catalogue, Andrew played a big (and small cameo) part in bringing Last Christmas to us. Then there's Emma Thompson's screenwriting which really sparkles with her wit and intelligence, and Emilia Clarke is the perfect vehicle for it to play out on screen. She is completely genuine in this role, and all the more touching because of it. It's also just a lovely advertisement for the beauty and wonder and magic that is London, especially at night. You will NEVER have enough time to discover all of the treasures that London has in store for you. Such a feel-good Christmas flick that rewards repeated viewings. Thank you to all who are responsible for Last Christmas!
Well said! I totally & have lost count of how many times I've watched. I now have my 83 yr old mom to become a fan of George's & Wham's music. She fell in love with the movie too. I cried when I read that George actually knew about & loved the movie from Emma Thompson. I know it's silly but that just made it even more special like having Andrew Ridgley in the audience at the end of the movie

I really didn't expect the film to go the way it went. Honestly, it was brilliant. I don't get why the critics slammed it so hard
Fully agree. People out there aim to be 'critical' for the sport of it. Its like the opposition in government opposing everything for the sake of it (rather than saying hey that's great we agree with that). How often have you loved a movie and then seen bad reviews you disagree with? So much hyper-BS to wade through in today's world.
I'm not much of a movie person, but this has touched my heart and brought me to tears. I was really feeling the emotions and I predicted the ending as well, it's sad but heart warming the same time.
In case you missed it, the scene where the bird craps on Emilia Clarke is a metaphor for the last season of Game of Thrones

well the comments did not "spoil" anything because when they wrote it the movie was not even out. they were all predictions of a SUPER PREDICTABLE plot...the movie looks so fucking cliche that it hurts. it might be a sweet romcom but still you can see where is going to end a million miles away. I also blame the trailer and song choice, it gave way too much away so you end up connecting the dots really fast

I’m Croatian so the scenes with them talking in croatian made me laugh sooso hard but then the end broke my heart into million pieces and I can’t get over it
i don't care about spoilers or comments .. i loved this movie the plot and the message behind it .. the acting was fabulous and the story is so much Christmas .. its all i need .. great movie

Just found this movie and I knew what was coming when I watched the trailer but it still made me cry so much. This was such a good movie.
It’s been almost a year, i have watched this twice and i was still cried ,, for who havent watched this, plsss try it, it is really worth watching. It will be a surprise for you at the end

just finished watching this movie. the plot twist at the end was absolutely beautiful and almost brought me to tears.
Ok all I have to say is this movie took a big impact on me I just came from watching it and I’m still in tears the message behind this movie is beyond beautiful.
I am going to see it again with my sister. I also am still in tears. I loved how the social injustices that George cared about were addressed in the movie. I think the movie should be played in every High School in the world.
