I tried 2.9 on hard I did pretty well at first but then vader came in with his death fleet and I couldn't counter it the victory class can just do so much damage now couple those with isd's and it's pretty hard to stop

I was hoping to see a black sun campaign, but the background footage makes me think otherwise, either way, awesome video and can't wait to see the next campaign.
Black Sun is a little bit more complicated, spreading corruption, racketeering, proper credit generation and just how to build what unit. But it fills my heart with joy to create a Providence/Venator fleet with random ramshackle cruisers to fight both empire and rebels
Yea, I'm waiting for anyone to do a campaign at this point. I don't have a PC that will run AOTR

This is exactly what I want in a Star Wars video game guide. Overviews of what each section will cover, nifty guides of how to set everything up, demonstrations of how to play, and most importantly, the video is themed like a training program/briefing for new rebels. Expertly done Cap!

some more tips for expert rebel players, bring a big fleet to the battle of endor and only try it when you find with lossing the whole fleet, the pirate will kick the empire given enough time [ this mean they take coruscant] , it you take the capital of the hapes the ai will go crazy and start attacking near by planet which will cause the empire to attack getting hid of there mass fleet or a lest creating a buffer zone for you. MC 40 are very useful when taking out shields, focused on income if a planet can have a maufacturing base then make it unless it on the front lines. Garm Bel Iblis is consider a ground unit which mean if you put him in fleet lead he adds no tactical population meaning you get to free dreadnaught cruiser with out the cost and added tactical population. if you have other tip please put then under the comments.
if you play one expert be ready for fleet of 200 and 300 with 20 or more capital ships

I just started playing this mod (never played empire at war before) and definitely need this.

Deep in the Rebel Campaign on expert myself currently. I am sweeting bullets, its amazing.
One thing to maybe put out in an other tutorial vod, without wanting to spoil something, saving right after completing the "Mon Cala save zone" mission requierments can avoid a lot of headach.
In this version i have had very good results with "proper rebel tactics" of ground raiding forces and in space sending in strike wings of X-Wings, Y-Wings with some U-Wings to kill off Starbases before the proper invasion or hunt Hero ships or the odd lone ISD.

love the video captin. was there ever a part two? having trouble finding it. getting stuck in to the jump to hyperspace update for my first ever galactic conquest. im attempting on hard as i find normal in the single battles to easy, but got smacked down in my first few hours last night on GC, really want to learn my way to victory.

I like the fluctuation of the immersion.
I ended up with a really good defense battle as the Rebels the other day against the Empire. I had a large defense fleet stationed to it cause I knew they'd try to attack it eventually. I also had an ion cannon as well. Until that point I had little contact with the Empire cause I was mainly focused on taking Black Sun territory, and attacking weak Empireal ground bases. Once I got outside Carida though they attacked me with what I'm guessing was their entire Northern fleet. I set up my defensive line at the first station. 1 liberator and a Dauntless. I didn't have many Capital Ships so I figured I'd rely on my small Corvette and frigates to take out sub systems and escort ships. I sent 2 long probe Ywings to the side of where I thought they'd be to spy on them. And also sent 4 Squadrons of Y wings to the opposite side to wait for them to move up. My plan was to take out the ISD support ships, fall back, then attack them with my main fleet. I had artillery ships in the back as well. 3 ISD Vador, and a Tector ISD. When they moved up far enough I sent the Y wings to take out their engines to by myself more time. However by that time they were already at the 1st defense point. I focused my fire on their support ships and carriers first. Afterwards I told my bombers to focus on Vader's ISD. I wanted him gone. Eventually I got to a point where I realized I could win if I played smart. So after I saw they were focused on Rebel 1 I sent him around the map multiple times all the while he was being chased by 3 SSD and 1 Victory. I took out all their engines with pretty much every fighters and bombers I had left over from defending the first station. After that I had them destroy all their sub systems till they all eventually were destroyed. IT WAS THE LONGEST 1 HOUR OF MY LIFE I SWEAR! I ended up losing my only 2 Capital ships for that fleet as well as most of the fighters. But I did kill Vader, 3 heroes, at least 6 SSD'S and their entire support fleet for the North. Most of the defense fleet was made up of fighters from the beginning of the playthrough so I think I made out pretty well considering I thought I was just going to lose the battle. It was hella fun. After the battle though I combined what i had left over with my main fleet and separated them into a new defense fleet. I also replaced the supporter station and shipyard with actual defense stations. I also station more defense units on the ground along with more defensive structures just in case. At the moment I'm trying to build up my fleet even more and also trying to unite my eastern and southern Fronts so I can finally have a easier time enforcing troops and fleets.

My biggest tip would be to rebind the camera movement to wasd keys instead of the arrow keys!

That strategy fails in the updated version. Without larger ships, the squadrons will be picked off slowly but surely.

@@loganthekrogan2182 I mean it got nerfed a bit but I played in the last few days and I assure you it still works well enough. At least with the fleet compositions the AI tends to have.
Depends on what the enemy has, we didn’t want to completely stop it and make carriers useless. We just wanted to reign it in
@@mr.president7190 I am totally fine with it. It´s a problem with the base game that I doubt mods could fix. The way to fix it would be a mechanic requiring some sort of investment to replace lost squadrons.
The ATOR sub mod is great to. You get to build Republic ships and vehicles on rothana

Overall one of the best mods I've ever played so far with a good variety of tactics to use on the field, But I must say the unit cap in space is quite lacking compared to its previous version while yes the new ship rolls is quite refreshing they are undermined by a lack of ships I can deploy on the field.
Its so that you have to choose carefully, otherwise you can just have a versatile deathball fleet that can do anything

Software once clumsy or random for Windows XP /2000, but with mods, a more elegant game for a more civilized age.
Also my other strat is I use mom cal ships to snipe enemy stations early on
Yeah my usual strategy is to group up the fleet at mon cal with rebel one and her fleet and just go ham

Tips for it running well? I get a lot of lock ups and low fps in some battles depending how big they are.
I recently had an issue where my groupings wouldn’t respond when I pressed their numbered group or camera wouldn’t let me view ships or cinematic, if anyone has a fix please tell me
please cover how certain ships are unlocked during the storyline and how to do so

I have a question: what are the current rules for building space stations? In the vanilla game, you could only build two stations in space. For example: technology level 1 and a shipyard or some sort of combination like that. Is that rule still in effect with the mod or has that changed?

I changed my resolution setting and now the game keeps crashing. Even base game is doing this. Idk what it was on before is there a way to fix this or do I just need to reinstall?
If you have trouble with the mouse cursor, solution is the same as with widescreen. Turn Hardwarecurser off and then back on.
Hey Shack you were talking about in one of your XCOM 2 SW videos about wanting a XCOM game with global base building, just in case there is a chance you dont know about this game : Xenonauts has exactly that
There is also the UFO series that has a more active approach where you have different kinds of bases (R&D, Military etc) however it doesnt have that level of actual Base Building where you build buildings and such

Just curious, but is anyone's AoTR crashing often in the new version? Every time I get into a battle it seems to CTD, or I get the 'permanently stuck when saving' bug
Yes, I get crashes more often than I like when loading the assets to bring a unit from hyperspace. It seems to be worse the longer the game runs so save frequently.
@@jeremiahrex Dang, mine doesn't even last that long. Mine usually crashes in the first space combat. I'll re-download the mod and see if that works. Will report back if it helps or not

the mon calamari buffer zone mission has fried my campaign, all ground forces are unmovable does anyone have a fix or having this problem?
I was playing the campaign which is only the Empire vs Rebels, when i built the Death Star 2 a mission followed and everything else, when i tried to invade a planet, i couldnt bring more reinforcements, neither on space or planetside.....

Anyone else have issues getting the 2.8.2 version to save in a timely way? I loved playing it, but kept getting stuck with the game taking 20 minutes (and sometimes upwards or past an HOUR) to make a save. Never saved during a battle, and always a new save, never an overwrite. I never got around to finishing the GC Campaign because of it. And does anyone know if this is still an issue in 2.9?
A warning the game can get unstable if all the other factions are active. So just the Empire vs Rebellion is still the most stable.
