I feel like is hard to say that Mercedes was overhyped when she was literally always stuck in the back until it was time for her to come out and hit a power note. She was horribly underrated (at least within the context of the show)
ya, no kidding. they had her sing a really hard song to prove she was better than Rachel (which she nailed by the way) and then stuck her in the back again. I think Rachel also has a great voice, but it's the "classic broadway voice" and I feel like Mercedes's voice was just so much more interesting and had so much more... personality if that makes sense.

Unpopular opinion: I really liked Puck. People need to learn to separate the art from the artist I hate Mark Salling, he’s disgusting, but Puck was a really interesting character and he really grew over the course of the show. I hated him at the beginning of the show, but by the end I really really liked him (also about the separating the art from the artist, same goes for Ryder)
Don’t say Mark is disgusting. Everyone has their struggles and everyone feels so privileged to pick and choose who they’re going to shun and who they think are actually worth helping (e.g. Cory, who abused drugs). It’s comments like this that make everyone hide and satisfy their addiction rather than coming to terms with it, as getting help.
I think one of the big issues with coach Beiste was that her character was so unique and it made women who weren’t the typical delicate and soft women who are glorified in Hollywood, feel seen. Also her feminist energy as a serious and intimidating female football coach was really important and cool, so when she announced her transitioning out of the blue, it cheapened all of what was great about her character from the previous seasons.
This behavior did not only do women who felt represented by Beiste dirty, but also robbed trans people the opportunity to be represented by a genuinely developed and well written trans character!
The bi scene stung for me too but I don’t think that is what his real opinion I think he just wanted Blaine to be with him not defending him but that’s how I felt
My unpopular opinion: Unique deserved a love interest; and of course, catfishing is not okay, but Ryder was terrible and became even more unlikable when he rejected Unique.
I always felt that Ryder was underserved by the show. He was far from my favorite Glee project contestant, and it seemed like the show was determined to select a straight white male character. But then, the show didn't seem to know what to do with one when they got it. So, I feel as though the actor and the character were poorly treated. I wish, instead of the writers giving him every trauma in the book, they'd have stuck with one. Did he need a reading disorder, childhood molestation, and getting catfished? How about just one of those challenges, properly developed into an actual storyline?
If that was more natural, I'd like to see those two together. Without the catfish thing, Ryder could have just found out that he was interested in Unique's strength as a woman and he could have fallen for her. The would have been amazing. But of course that didn't happen
Unique was not entitled to a relationship with Ryder. Catfishing someone is an immediate way to break whatever trust two people potentially would form with eachother, and he did not deserve to be demonised for being rightfully upset and violated from what Unique did to him.
I don’t like Ryder that much ngl BUT i think he reacted like anyone would in that situation with the catfishing and he had every right to be upset and if anything I disliked Unique after that situation because like you said it’s not okay and i just never saw them in the same light again because they really hurt Ryder through the catfishing
The issue with the "Glee is Satire" comment for me is that the show itself forgot it was supposed to be satire by season 3. Seriously, every other episode was an after school special and it was clear a lot of plotlines just happened because they really wanted to include a certain song in an episode.
I think Rachel was great and funny when the show was aware of how selfish and dramatic she was and grew from it but, I find her annoying when the show suddenly starts to think she's just like any other protagonist from another show.

I mean, she did continue to date him despite her worries and I did appreciate that she realized her error, I just felt it was a racist comment and while black people do have things worse, I don't feel like racism towards anyone is okay.

I 100% agree with the Unholy Trinity not being the main characters. I loved that the main characters were misfits and as the show adapted we seen the genuinely popular people like Quinn, Santana and Kitty are also in a sense misfits too
Unpopular opinion: I liked Santana's Don't Rain On My Parade better than Rachel's. Santana changed it up and made it her own song as for Rachel, she sang it just like Barbara.
Idk if this is unpopular, but they should have either followed the lives of the glee graduates or the story of McKinley High during season 4, and not followed the stories of both Rachel and the glee club.
I remember that there were rumors of a spin-off during the third season of Glee. When it didn't happen, Ryan Murphy blamed it on the actors (who were asked about it in press interviews and mentioned "talks" about the idea). I think that would have been a better solution to the obvious problem the show was facing. The Season 4 newbies never got a real shot to develop -- even if Kitty and Unique managed to survive the Season 5 massacre. But I can't really complain, because Marley was freed up to become Supergirl, which is a better use of her time.
I kinda agree but I think they should have followed the rest of the graduates instead of just Kurt and rachel but still added episode of mostly the high school kids bc Britney, sam, Artie, and Tina were still in school

Honestly, a Santana (maybe Quinn as well) centered spin-off should have happened. At least then they would've maybe done justice to her character and not just made most of her story line about Rachel. Also throw Holly Holiday and April Rhodes in there...because why not? Also, justice for early Seasons Tina.(And Jenna Ushkowitz, because that voice was waaaaaasted)

This is an unpopular opinion but I've always thought that they wanted to demonstrate that even though she has a disability she can still act and be like any other kid. I agree with Unique being the "new Rachel", yes Marley had a great voice but Rachel is more than her voice. It's the stage presence and the confidence, just the overall star power. Marley didn't have that. She was shy and more songwriter-y and that was great and I love her character. However, all those things do fit Unique. She had an amazing voice, great stage presence and confidence (while on stage at least). She fit the "new Rachel" type way more than Marley. I also don't like Beist coming out as trans. It literally contradicted anything about her character. Before season 6 most of their struggles were about wanting to be seen as femininity and never really getting that, always been seen as less than and more masculine. Even her abuse storyline is centered about their femininity. It just didn't make sense for her to come out as a trans man. If they wanted a transitioning storyline they could have done that with Unique. They touched upon it at certain moments with her, but they could have done so much more and if they wanted Beist to be trans they could have had them be male to female and already transitioned. That would explain her struggles with femininity so well.

Jake gets a Kermity quality in his upper register. He's always flips his voice to the back of his throat which is a big no-no vocally. Amber in Dreamgirls - AMAZING, the act 1 finale was probably the most thrilling moment I have ever experienced in the theatre.

Yeah, even before we cheated on Kurt and that ugly break up. Twice. Like you could REALLY see his unhappiness when Kurt broke up with him (twice) but he went through some traumatic stuff before Dalton, being bullied out of a school, being physically assaulted, had a dad who didn’t except his gayness, a brother who always belittled him, and in the wedding episode (Klaine wedding) his mom was an mess!!!! Like for all drunk and hung all over Puck. That boy was a powder keg.
Beckie EmpowHERS there’s stuff that a lot of people miss too if they’re not really paying attention to him and stuff that was cut. When he’s at dalton there are things he does and says that insinuate he’s not as confident as we think. He was really scared to go to McKinley and you could see that Finn being mean to him was triggering him. He starts withdrawing from his friends and Kurt when his brother is there because he doesn’t want to bother them with his emotions. He starts withdrawing from Kurt the closer it gets to graduation because he’s scared of losing Kurt. Before the break up he says that everything he did was for Kurt and without him he felt alone and like nothing mattered. His insecurities and fear of Kurt not loving him in season 5. There was some cut stuff from his mom at the wedding that revealed his dad left them at some point and his mom always traveled for work so Blaine was alone a lot and not really involved in his life. Glee made his depression look situational around the break ups or made jokes out of it like with puppet master but the issues were definitely there the whole time.
Disclaimer: I’m not transgender (I am a very big supporter though) so if my opinion is offensive PLEASE call me out for it and educate me. Although I LOVE seeing trans representation in tv/film, making coach Beiste trans was the wrong way to go at it. It seemed completely out of no where, as if they only put it in the plot to try to become a more “representative” show. I think Beiste was a nice representation of breaking female stereotypes and being a role model for more “masculine” women, but if they wanted true, more empowering trans representation, they should have added someone who was fighting to gain their trans right from the beginning.
I am also not transgender, and I also wish to be called out if my opinion is offensive. I agree. Beiste coming out as trans came out of nowhere. I have no problem with a trans character, I encourage it, but beiste was always talking about how he wanted to be girly and how that one guy he married made him 'feel like a girl for once' and then he came out as trans, I was very confused. If someone was a trans ftm then they would NEVER feel like a girl, because they aren't. They may be physically female, but they will never feel like a girl because they aren't mentally a girl. ( if this is incorrect, PLEASE tell me, I do not want to be spreading false information)
Unpopular opinion: Glee shouldn't have run for so long. I lost interest in May 2013 and stopped watching the show, so I never saw the last two seasons and I don't regret it.
I totally think they could have ended it nicely with episode 100 where the glee club was disbanded. There were some likeable moments in the second half of season 5 and season 6, but episode 100 had a better wrap up

Kaylee Maness I agree w THAT. Jake’s character, for the entire 1st season he was on Glee (season 4) was not the type of guy who would pressure girls for sex. Let’s start w him theoretically being a womanizer or, let’s say, a player. Girls were all over him bc he was hot, and sang well and danced like a dream. He didn’t need to pressure girls bc he was the type of guy that girls would like to jump, so to speak. In any case, let’s just say at the beginning he had his pick and if wanting to sleep w somebody was more important than dating, he could have hooked up w Katie. BUT, anyway, when he attempted what was, I’m sure, his first “real “ relationship w Marley, he was definitely into her and just her. Glee decided Ryder would “know” how to be a better BF to Marley but IMO Jake and Marley had more chemistry. It was only in season 5, when the writers were looking for things to write about, that they decided to wreck Jake’s character and suddenly have him pressuring Marley for more. (Altho, and this is simply my opinion, not a Fact, since they had been dating for somewhere bet 6-9 months [could NOT follow Glees timeline] but it isn’t odd for high school students to want to do more than, let’s say, getting to 1st base with the person you’ve been dating for months and months and months.) That’s not to say ANYBODY has the right to force themselves on somebody else (I’m talking to YOU BLAINE, budding alcoholic) but speaking of Blaine. He and Kurt dated for at least 9 or more months before they went “below the waist” and seriously, what the hell was that? It seemed equally unrealistic BUT if they wanted to wait, then Fine. Both ppl have to be on the same page. And, just to point out the writers propensity for ruining characters, they totally threw Blaine under a bus when they had him cheat on Kurt, not something I would expect from the character they’d had on the show for over two seasons now. I didn’t express myself well in this comment but my point was supposed to be, Jake was never rude to Marley for the entire first year (or season) so yes, it was out of character for him to treat her poorly or push her in a way that made her uncomfortable.
Pamela Rosen I completely agree. I just feel like they were trying to hard to push Ryder and Marley bc they had intended that from the beginning but then Jacob made the character his own so it was no longer realistic but in usual tv show fashion, they refused to rewrite it.

Unpopular opinion: Jarley was endgame. Jake cheating on Marley completely threw all of his character development from his entire existence on the show out the window. I believe that Jarley would’ve gotten married by the time they were 20 and had a long, happy life together as singer/songwriters who traveled the world on tour together,. Crazy/You Drive Me Crazy would have been their trademark (for those of you who don’t know that’s the first song they sang together). Not gonna lie, I shipped them more than I shipped Finchel and Brittana. They were so cute. Also, season 4 crew should’ve been regular Glee and New York/og glee clubbers should’ve been a separate spinoff to give the season 4 crew more storylines and development.
BEISTES TRANSITION DIDNT MAKE SENSE - Her whole storyline was about how it’s okay to be a masculine woman and then they go and make her a man. It just seemed like tokenism and not actually featuring a transgender charachter like Unique.

I went on a binge yesterday of your videos, and your Come From Away video got me to watch a "slime tutorial" of it. I'd seen it live before but wow it really is an incredible show. Wow, I think I may have the TRUE unpopular opinion, in that I actually liked Blaine MORE as the seasons went on because YES he was a hot mess. Turns out? He always was, he just covered it better in seasons 2 and part of 3. Now, do I think that they should have just had a mature breakup (a la Brittana) before Kurt went to New York? Yes. Did I like the cheating? No, no one did. But did I like the character development that came out of it? Yes--I liked the friendship with Sam and Tina, and the body issues, and the boundless optimism (that later bit him in the butt) and the need to please/get acceptance combined with the bad instinct to self-sabotage ("I'm not worth it, Kurt would be better off without me, I don't deserve him and yet I don't have the courage to end it because I need him too much" I mean I FEEL THAT). I think Blaine needed the second breakup to truly find he could survive on his own. And honestly, KURT KNEW THE PROPOSAL WAS COMING, I hate that they cut the Kurt-Rachel-Santana-Mercedes scene out that established that (plus, pssst...you can say "yes" to a public proposal and then quietly say "actually, no" later...Kurt could have done that). I mean, y'all say you hate Blaine, but come on, BLAINE hates Blaine sometimes. Like Amy said, everyone is problematic af on that show (EVERY. ONE.).

Because Rachel is too ambitious and worked really hard. She is successful because she works really hard. (I'm not saying she's not talented. She has talent too but you know what I mean.) But Mercedes, like jesse said is lazy :) But although this, she nailed it. If she worked like Rachel, She would've been so much better.
We don't really know how hard Mercedes worked, because we didn't see any of it. We only hear about it occasionally (like her mentioning that she was selling her CDs out of the trunk of her car). I really disliked the whole "Mercedes is lazy" angle because that is something that gets thrown at both Black people, and big people. It kind of came out of nowhere from Will in Season 3, to give Mercedes a reason to quit the New Directions and join the girl's group. Shelby didn't seem to think that Mercedes lacked a work ethic. When I re-watch the show, I understand Mercedes more. She wasn't lazy, she just didn't want to play Rachel's manipulation games -- and she wasn't good at them. If Rachel didn't get a solo, she'd throw a tantrum and Will would give it to her after all. When Mercedes tried similar tactics, she was given bootie camp. Eventually, she (somehow) found the path that would lead her to success without having to compromise her principles.
Unpopular opinion: I absolutely HATED Unique. I love Alex’s voice I just think Unique was a really bad character. I also really didn’t like Holly Holiday

Unpopular opinion - the season 6 newbies were more interesting to watch then the season 4 newbies. Whenever i rewatch the show I generally skip season 4 and 5 but i did love season 6. Maybe if they would have combined both casts (excluding myron but keeping Joe and Sugar Motta) then the seasons would be more liked 🤷🏼♀️ Another unpopular opinion - i wish they would have made Quinn and Joe endgame because they both seemed to compliment each other well although i do enjoy Puck and Quinn.
I think Finn is the best character in my opinion coz without him I wouldn't of gone on stage at all and now all I want to do is be on stage because finn stop the stereotype that all singers and actors are all gay or loser and doing sports and performing in school myself he was one of my biggest inspirations growing up RIP Corey
on that comment of Alex Newell's voice, I ABSOLUTELY AGREE OMG for anyone who hasn't seen or heard about this, Alex Newell (Unique's actor) is in the show Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, which is a show that is just full of singing. The character Alex plays, called Mo, is absolutely amazing and if you're looking for some good genderfluid/gender non-conforming representation, that's a character for u. i highly recommend watching or even just listening to the soundtracks because Alex's voice is SO POWERFUL AHHH

People need to learn to separate the art from the artist I hate Mark Salling, he’s disgusting, but Puck was a really interesting character and he really grew over the course of the show. I hated him at the beginning of the show, but by the end I really really liked him (also about the separating the art from the artist, same goes for Ryder)

Everyone has their struggles and everyone feels so privileged to pick and choose who they’re going to shun and who they think are actually worth helping (e.g. Cory, who abused drugs). It’s comments like this that make everyone hide and satisfy their addiction rather than coming to terms with it, as getting help.

I think one of the big issues with coach Beiste was that her character was so unique and it made women who weren’t the typical delicate and soft women who are glorified in Hollywood, feel seen. Also her feminist energy as a serious and intimidating female football coach was really important and cool, so when she announced her transitioning out of the blue, it cheapened all of what was great about her character from the previous seasons.

As a trans guy, Beiste's transition makes me very uncomfortable because it literally undid all of what Beiste's character was built up to be
My unpopular opinion: Unique deserved a love interest; and of course, catfishing is not okay, but Ryder was terrible and became even more unlikable when he rejected Unique.
I always felt that Ryder was underserved by the show. He was far from my favorite Glee project contestant, and it seemed like the show was determined to select a straight white male character. But then, the show didn't seem to know what to do with one when they got it. So, I feel as though the actor and the character were poorly treated.
I wish, instead of the writers giving him every trauma in the book, they'd have stuck with one. Did he need a reading disorder, childhood molestation, and getting catfished? How about just one of those challenges, properly developed into an actual storyline?

If that was more natural, I'd like to see those two together. Without the catfish thing, Ryder could have just found out that he was interested in Unique's strength as a woman and he could have fallen for her. The would have been amazing. But of course that didn't happen
Unique was not entitled to a relationship with Ryder. Catfishing someone is an immediate way to break whatever trust two people potentially would form with eachother, and he did not deserve to be demonised for being rightfully upset and violated from what Unique did to him.

The issue with the "Glee is Satire" comment for me is that the show itself forgot it was supposed to be satire by season 3. Seriously, every other episode was an after school special and it was clear a lot of plotlines just happened because they really wanted to include a certain song in an episode.

I don’t really agree, I think that the split was quite nice. Escapially the clever links between the story lines
I remember that there were rumors of a spin-off during the third season of Glee. When it didn't happen, Ryan Murphy blamed it on the actors (who were asked about it in press interviews and mentioned "talks" about the idea).
I think that would have been a better solution to the obvious problem the show was facing. The Season 4 newbies never got a real shot to develop -- even if Kitty and Unique managed to survive the Season 5 massacre.
But I can't really complain, because Marley was freed up to become Supergirl, which is a better use of her time.

I agree with Unique being the "new Rachel", yes Marley had a great voice but Rachel is more than her voice. It's the stage presence and the confidence, just the overall star power. Marley didn't have that. She was shy and more songwriter-y and that was great and I love her character. However, all those things do fit Unique. She had an amazing voice, great stage presence and confidence (while on stage at least). She fit the "new Rachel" type way more than Marley.
I also don't like Beist coming out as trans. It literally contradicted anything about her character. Before season 6 most of their struggles were about wanting to be seen as femininity and never really getting that, always been seen as less than and more masculine. Even her abuse storyline is centered about their femininity. It just didn't make sense for her to come out as a trans man. If they wanted a transitioning storyline they could have done that with Unique. They touched upon it at certain moments with her, but they could have done so much more and if they wanted Beist to be trans they could have had them be male to female and already transitioned. That would explain her struggles with femininity so well.
I know you don’t like the trans storyline but it still happened so please use he/him pronouns..

Yeah, even before we cheated on Kurt and that ugly break up. Twice. Like you could REALLY see his unhappiness when Kurt broke up with him (twice) but he went through some traumatic stuff before Dalton, being bullied out of a school, being physically assaulted, had a dad who didn’t except his gayness, a brother who always belittled him, and in the wedding episode (Klaine wedding) his mom was an mess!!!! Like for all drunk and hung all over Puck. That boy was a powder keg.
Beckie EmpowHERS there’s stuff that a lot of people miss too if they’re not really paying attention to him and stuff that was cut. When he’s at dalton there are things he does and says that insinuate he’s not as confident as we think. He was really scared to go to McKinley and you could see that Finn being mean to him was triggering him. He starts withdrawing from his friends and Kurt when his brother is there because he doesn’t want to bother them with his emotions. He starts withdrawing from Kurt the closer it gets to graduation because he’s scared of losing Kurt. Before the break up he says that everything he did was for Kurt and without him he felt alone and like nothing mattered. His insecurities and fear of Kurt not loving him in season 5. There was some cut stuff from his mom at the wedding that revealed his dad left them at some point and his mom always traveled for work so Blaine was alone a lot and not really involved in his life. Glee made his depression look situational around the break ups or made jokes out of it like with puppet master but the issues were definitely there the whole time.

Disclaimer: I’m not transgender (I am a very big supporter though) so if my opinion is offensive PLEASE call me out for it and educate me.
Although I LOVE seeing trans representation in tv/film, making coach Beiste trans was the wrong way to go at it. It seemed completely out of no where, as if they only put it in the plot to try to become a more “representative” show. I think Beiste was a nice representation of breaking female stereotypes and being a role model for more “masculine” women, but if they wanted true, more empowering trans representation, they should have added someone who was fighting to gain their trans right from the beginning.

I agree. Beiste coming out as trans came out of nowhere. I have no problem with a trans character, I encourage it, but beiste was always talking about how he wanted to be girly and how that one guy he married made him 'feel like a girl for once' and then he came out as trans, I was very confused.
If someone was a trans ftm then they would NEVER feel like a girl, because they aren't. They may be physically female, but they will never feel like a girl because they aren't mentally a girl.

Kaylee Maness I agree w THAT. Jake’s character, for the entire 1st season he was on Glee (season 4) was not the type of guy who would pressure girls for sex. Let’s start w him theoretically being a womanizer or, let’s say, a player. Girls were all over him bc he was hot, and sang well and danced like a dream. He didn’t need to pressure girls bc he was the type of guy that girls would like to jump, so to speak. In any case, let’s just say at the beginning he had his pick and if wanting to sleep w somebody was more important than dating, he could have hooked up w Katie.
BUT, anyway, when he attempted what was, I’m sure, his first “real “ relationship w Marley, he was definitely into her and just her. Glee decided Ryder would “know” how to be a better BF to Marley but IMO Jake and Marley had more chemistry.
It was only in season 5, when the writers were looking for things to write about, that they decided to wreck Jake’s character and suddenly have him pressuring Marley for more. (Altho, and this is simply my opinion, not a Fact, since they had been dating for somewhere bet 6-9 months [could NOT follow Glees timeline] but it isn’t odd for high school students to want to do more than, let’s say, getting to 1st base with the person you’ve been dating for months and months and months.) That’s not to say ANYBODY has the right to force themselves on somebody else (I’m talking to YOU BLAINE, budding alcoholic) but speaking of Blaine. He and Kurt dated for at least 9 or more months before they went “below the waist” and seriously, what the hell was that? It seemed equally unrealistic BUT if they wanted to wait, then Fine. Both ppl have to be on the same page.
And, just to point out the writers propensity for ruining characters, they totally threw Blaine under a bus when they had him cheat on Kurt, not something I would expect from the character they’d had on the show for over two seasons now.
I didn’t express myself well in this comment but my point was supposed to be, Jake was never rude to Marley for the entire first year (or season) so yes, it was out of character for him to treat her poorly or push her in a way that made her uncomfortable.

Unpopular opinion: Jarley was endgame. Jake cheating on Marley completely threw all of his character development from his entire existence on the show out the window. I believe that Jarley would’ve gotten married by the time they were 20 and had a long, happy life together as singer/songwriters who traveled the world on tour together,. Crazy/You Drive Me Crazy would have been their trademark (for those of you who don’t know that’s the first song they sang together). Not gonna lie, I shipped them more than I shipped Finchel and Brittana. They were so cute. Also, season 4 crew should’ve been regular Glee and New York/og glee clubbers should’ve been a separate spinoff to give the season 4 crew more storylines and development.

@@laoisemorgan3658 yeah I can see that, I say she's a great character but not a great person. She's a good villian. For Marley we didn't get enough backstory on her or her personality so I couldn't fully feel for her.
Anna Borbely yeah true, that entire storyline was so badly developed, also the fact that they all blamed Marley for it was ridiculous, the writers clearly knew nothing about how eating disorders work and it shows
I love both and have never understood the dislike around Marley bc she was never that problematic she just was insecure and Jake (in my opinion) was fully to blame for them breaking up. That being said, she should've stopped Ryder's kiss.

I went on a binge yesterday of your videos, and your Come From Away video got me to watch a "slime tutorial" of it. I'd seen it live before but wow it really is an incredible show. It feels like they have a cast of 100 people. It's the perfect balance of funny and emotional. So well done. I had to vent to someone about it so I guess this comment section it is!

Wow, I think I may have the TRUE unpopular opinion, in that I actually liked Blaine MORE as the seasons went on because YES he was a hot mess. Turns out? He always was, he just covered it better in seasons 2 and part of 3. Now, do I think that they should have just had a mature breakup (a la Brittana) before Kurt went to New York? Yes. Did I like the cheating? No, no one did. But did I like the character development that came out of it? Yes--I liked the friendship with Sam and Tina, and the body issues, and the boundless optimism (that later bit him in the butt) and the need to please/get acceptance combined with the bad instinct to self-sabotage ("I'm not worth it, Kurt would be better off without me, I don't deserve him and yet I don't have the courage to end it because I need him too much" I mean I FEEL THAT). I think Blaine needed the second breakup to truly find he could survive on his own. And honestly, KURT KNEW THE PROPOSAL WAS COMING, I hate that they cut the Kurt-Rachel-Santana-Mercedes scene out that established that (plus, pssst...you can say "yes" to a public proposal and then quietly say "actually, no" later...Kurt could have done that).
I mean, y'all say you hate Blaine, but come on, BLAINE hates Blaine sometimes. Like Amy said, everyone is problematic af on that show (EVERY. ONE.).

Update: And Mercedes was more talented than Rachel. Because Rachel is too ambitious and worked really hard. She is successful because she works really hard. (I'm not saying she's not talented. She has talent too but you know what I mean.) But Mercedes, like jesse said is lazy :) But although this, she nailed it. If she worked like Rachel, She would've been so much better.

We don't really know how hard Mercedes worked, because we didn't see any of it. We only hear about it occasionally (like her mentioning that she was selling her CDs out of the trunk of her car). I really disliked the whole "Mercedes is lazy" angle because that is something that gets thrown at both Black people, and big people. It kind of came out of nowhere from Will in Season 3, to give Mercedes a reason to quit the New Directions and join the girl's group. Shelby didn't seem to think that Mercedes lacked a work ethic.
When I re-watch the show, I understand Mercedes more. She wasn't lazy, she just didn't want to play Rachel's manipulation games -- and she wasn't good at them. If Rachel didn't get a solo, she'd throw a tantrum and Will would give it to her after all. When Mercedes tried similar tactics, she was given bootie camp. Eventually, she (somehow) found the path that would lead her to success without having to compromise her principles.
Unpopular opinion: I absolutely HATED Unique. I love Alex’s voice I just think Unique was a really bad character. I also really didn’t like Holly Holiday

I wish we saw more of Rory. I know some people say he was one dimensional but I wish he was around longer so they could develop him.

Unpopular opinion - the season 6 newbies were more interesting to watch then the season 4 newbies.
Whenever i rewatch the show I generally skip season 4 and 5 but i did love season 6. Maybe if they would have combined both casts (excluding myron but keeping Joe and Sugar Motta) then the seasons would be more liked 🤷🏼♀️
Another unpopular opinion - i wish they would have made Quinn and Joe endgame because they both seemed to compliment each other well although i do enjoy Puck and Quinn.
Season 3 was the best season of Glee by far! When I rewatch episodes, they are usually from Season 3.
I think Finn is the best character in my opinion coz without him I wouldn't of gone on stage at all and now all I want to do is be on stage because finn stop the stereotype that all singers and actors are all gay or loser and doing sports and performing in school myself he was one of my biggest inspirations growing up RIP Corey

for anyone who hasn't seen or heard about this, Alex Newell (Unique's actor) is in the show Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, which is a show that is just full of singing. The character Alex plays, called Mo, is absolutely amazing and if you're looking for some good genderfluid/gender non-conforming representation, that's a character for u. i highly recommend watching or even just listening to the soundtracks because Alex's voice is SO POWERFUL AHHH
