Presence of Indians, no problem. Presence of Islam, no problem. Air quality during the summer: problem. Bad water, big problem but I didn't experience it when i visited. Maybe location dependant. Dating? I wouldn't date locally, but as a tax residency i don't think it's an issue.
I think it can be a nice place to spend a few months in the winter, if you can secure somewhere nice to stay.

Indians, Pakistanis and other asian immigrants literally built everything you see nowadays in Dubai, ofc there's a lot of them there.
It's like 2 hours from their homeland. Just like how there are lot of mexican and latin americans down south of US.
And talking about UK, those Brits literally looted the whole subcontinent for 200 years iirc, you'll surely have a lot of them there who were brought there are there either through generations or just new skilled immigration mostly IT and Finance.

That was a very well reasoned talk on Dubai. I remember watching a clip of the ruler in Dubai speaking about Muslims immigrating to Europe. He was more or less suggesting that they don't know what they're doing, and they're bringing in these people which is going to cause havoc to their country because they don't know how to deal with these people. And you know when I listen to your talk it makes a lot of sense. You won't see demonstrations and other types of nonsense in Dubai. They just don't allow it! And there are no human rights that people can scream and yell about, because they probably don't exist. So I think they really treat you like a client as opposed to a resident or a citizen as you pointed out you'll never be unless you happen to be a very famous Canadian like Kevin O'Leary!

Your tone in the video has a certain undercurrent of racism and Islamophobia
I've lived in the UAE since the 1980s and have never had an issue here nor have any of my relatives
The Indians and Pakistanis that you seem to despise are infact the backbone on which UAE was built ... not only did their ancestors traded with the Arabs in Sharjah and Fujairah, they were here before independence helping the British built buildings and ports & later helping the Arabs with civil infrastructure in the 80s and 90s
Ask those people who lived here under Shiekh Rashid and you will realize what Dubai and UAE is ... we are not just a country of expats ... we are a country which developed along with our expats.

Just came back from Dubai and I would not recommend it. Artificially designed city, lots of traffic jams and no greenery. I prefer countries in South East Asia or the Mediterranean for low tax living....

Malaysia charges foreign real estate investors a flat 30% income tax on their rental income. That's a rip off! What low tax are you talking about?
