    As a former London teacher my pension is indexed linked. I'm 80 years , so I'm not worried. Always thought my government pension was secure but for the first time in my life this Stamer government is beginning to make rumbellings about ' over generous ' government pensions and suggestions that serving teachers give up their indexed linked pensions for a pay rise. Really ? Here in France state pensions are 80 % of income , in the UK 30%. Politicians make me puke.

    If you don't get out of the UK and EU within the next 6 years, you might not be able to because there will be capital controls.

      When you say "...tax you on your income...and tax you when you spend it" that is currently INCOME TAX and currently VAT (Value Added Tax (or Sales Tax in America)). You and we in the UK have been paying Income Tax of sorts continuously since William Pitt the Younger was PM due to the threat posed by Napoleon Bonaparte. While your suggestion of the risk of Capital Controls is unsubstantiated, and is stretching reality beyond any world economic logic. The Labour Government just started in power and signs are not for the better for most of the people in the UK.
      However, the Labour Government inherited a disastrous state of the economy and the lowest living standard I witnessed in the last 40 years.
      Two major factors considered that contributed to it:
      a) Brexit
      b) EU and UK complete vassals of the USA. As any vassal country you have little room for decision in your country/ population interest. Here, we should add the Globalist policies based on maximum profit for the giant Corporations and over taxation in multiple forms of the majority of the working population.
      Labour or Conservative Party in power makes no difference. Each time the working people are subjected to even more and higher taxes, higher rents, higher interest rates on mortgages, higher deposits for purchasing your first home, higher energy/utilities/goods prices, higher and higher..driving on the roads taxes ( Congestion and ULEZ extensions..);
      Soon , as Elon Musk anticipated recently in mass media, the majority hard affected population would have nothing to loose. Their children and grandchildren would have no future but just feeling as modern slaves while the politicians ( well paid and safe) pretending that there is nothing wrong in society.

    I lost over £70k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least £10k profits weekly. Thanks Charlotte Miller.

However, my wife ran off with a much younger richer man and has since married him. I lost a 5 bedroomed house and similarly half my Private Pension. I now struggle and have to accept that is British Justice for you. Never mind - that's life. Indeed. Mitigate locally, then you can continue to enjoy the depth of culture that the UK (or the effective UK when using your advice) has to offer. Rafael the TH-camr is scare-mongering, probably simply to drive traffic to his personal expat business.

    • @davidwhyman1189

      And this is the wider response I made to Rafael: "WRONG! Rafael you have no such immediate evidence that suddenly more millioaires are going to leave the UK. You are scare-mongering. You rail against TAX RATES but they are LOW compared to just about ALL comparable advanced democratic western countries. Additionally the UK has ample great PERSONAL tax advantages. Such as Govt Tax REBATES for all of one's Pension contributions into one's workplace pensions and one's Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPPs). Then there is the entirely tax free Independent Savings Accounts (ISAs). And you rail against IMMIGRATION (not ideal true, but your suggestion to move to another country SIMPLY PUTS ONESELF IN THE POSITION of being an IMMIGRANT!). And you rail against divorce and asset protection (well, one can equally easily set up a TRUST in the UK). Then you fail to mention the depth of culture we enjoy in the UK; the leaving of one's social network; the leaving of one's extended family; the inconvenience of the additional foreign administration; the inconvenience of language and cultural differences encountered by moving elsewhere. Whilst some of your "ideal" societies offer a lack of "critical mass" in so many matters of culture and services; and you "forget" to mention the UK's pretty much free health service. Also, you seem to suggest that living abroad in an "expat bubble" is socially rewarding - it is NOT! So OK the UK is changing, but not THAT much! Simply mitigate locally any of the changes that you don't like. Sadly I get the negative impression that you have published this video simply as a scare-mongering tactic to drive traffic to your own EXPAT ADVISORY COMPANY. It's not just millionaires. I left the UK more than 10 yrs ago for a better life in my wife's country of birth, the PRC. Real China is nothing like the place contained in the BS narratives that western people are constantly bombarded with. I'm not particularly wealthy but the low cost of living here means that we have gone from having little disposable income in the UK, to most of our income being available to fund the many lifestyle improvements that can be enjoyed here. Initially, our move was on a trial basis, but now the idea of living in the UK is more like the stuff of nightmares.
