I'm originally from Newark New Jersey but I now live in Pennsylvania and I had been diagnosed with macular degeneration. Years ago . But this last year my my eye sight got worse so I went to the eye doctor I now have cataract. I'm only 51 and I'm not looking forward to spending the rest of my life in darkness
I'm so sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with your vision. It's understandable to feel worried, but cataracts can often be treated with surgery, which has helped many people restore their sight. It might also be worth discussing new treatments or options for macular degeneration with your eye doctor. Stay hopeful-medical advancements are always happening, and you're not alone in this journey. Wishing you strength and brighter days ahead!
Such an important topic! Learning how to manage and slow the progression of macular degeneration can make a huge difference in maintaining vision. Thank you for providing valuable tips and insights for eye health!
Thank you for so much great info on Macular Degeneration. I’ve had dry for around 10 years. My cataract surgeon found it. I’ve been seeing a retina specialist once a year and nothing has changed until recently and now I have wet in my right eye and received my first injection. I’ll check your website out for the vitamins you recommend.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's great to hear that you're staying proactive with regular checkups and treatment. The transition to wet macular degeneration can be challenging, but injections can be highly effective. We hope the recommended vitamins on our website will also support your eye health. Wishing you all the best on your journey!
I just saw my eye dr yesterday and he is referring me to a retina specialist. He asked if I had macular degeneration in my family and I’m not sure. My mother had vision problems but I don’t remember anyone saying macular degeneration. She had cataracts but wore contact lenses and glasses so I don’t know any details. I was very surprised bc I’ve only woren glasses for near sightness. I’m watching from Cleveland Ohio. I’ll listen to your video. My eye dr said I had new blood vessels and fluid leakage.
Hi. I am 67 years old and just diagnosed with Myopic wet macular degeneration in my right eye, I am extremely near sighted. I had a shot of Avastin in my eye, and will continue this every 30 days for a number of months. I had no idea this was going on, just went in for a routine eye exam & paid extra for the eye scan & it was picked up. From that appt I was sent to a retina specialist. Hopefully, this can be brought under control and no further blood vessel growth will happen. Best of luck to all who suffer from this. l never thought I would be dealing this.
Thank you for sharing your story. It's a reminder of how important routine eye exams can be, especially as we age. It’s great that you’re receiving treatment and staying proactive with your care. Wishing you the best on your journey to manage and control this condition. Stay strong and take care!
I have it, too - didn’t really get much results from Avastin or Ilyea - I’m on Vabysmo now & it seems to be working - I get a shot every six weeks - have had it for a year

Very good information that I can use. I was recently diagnosed with AMD (Age Related Macular Degeneration) in my right eye, small cataract in my left eye. I'm 64. I was surprised to find out that several close relatives have AMD, because I've never heard of that risk factor. Concentrating on slowing the progression. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you for sharing your story. It's great that you're focusing on slowing the progression of AMD-knowledge and proactive steps can make a big difference. Family history is indeed an important factor to consider. Wishing you the best on your journey to maintaining eye health, and we're glad the video was helpful to you!

My father 62 years old has been diagnosed with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and recently, his vision has become fully blurry, leaving him unable to see clearly. We are deeply concerned about his condition and would appreciate your expert guidance on potential treatment options or any measures that could help alleviate his symptoms. Could you please advise on the best course of action or any available treatments? We would also appreciate any recommendations for managing this condition and improving his quality of life.
This video is 3 years old. You are not going to get an answer. Take him to a Retinal Specialist IMMEDIATELY. He could lose his vision entirely. This is an EMERGENCY.
At night in a darkened room it I over my right eye the left eye shows a large bloom of red color. Right now if I cover the right eye to look out of my left eye the center is grayed out. Had 4 injections and that did not help. Last eye test was almost 2 years ago.

I am also recently diagnosed with macular degeneration in both eyes. My right eye's vision is more severely affected than the left eye. İ see faces curved and some letters disappear. My image quality is 24 in the right eye whereas it is 41 in the left eye in the OCT report. I am scared to read some comments regarding injection. But the most scary reality is to learn that there is no treatment for it, at all. Are we eventually destined to complete loss of eye vision?
I have amd in both eyes and catracts. My left eye has dye amd and right eye wet. Both eyes catracts. I get shot in my right eye. But my vision not as good due my catracts.
Hi Dr. Rosenfarb--Listening from Asheville, NC. I have intermediate dry macular degeneration. I still see 20/20 but my vision has become more clouded and vaguer in the last few months. Do statins help clear out the Dusen in the eyes?
11:35 11:37
Good thinking here but ... statin molecules are too big to cross the blood-brain/blood-retinal boundary.
