As a native American-English speaker, who can speak passably in 3 other languages, I watch your reactions with the closed captions turned on because I need cc's to understand your accents. True story 🤣

Dimash is the most talented and most versatile this Southern California native has ever heard, yes, a musically educated well beloved singer such as Placido Domingo was even drawn to ask him to do a duet with him….😊

For many years there was a festival in my country where foreigners, in addition to their own songs, had to sing one song in our language. I've never heard anyone judge their pronunciation, even if you couldn't understand what they were singing. We were proud of them for taking the time and learning the song, overcoming language difficulties. In my opinion, assessing pronunciation is a very impolite matter. Especially since so many singers who sing in their own English language often do it very slurred, sloppy, or even gibberish. Secondly, the way opera artists or classical artists sing requires the proper positioning of the mouth and the work of the diaphragm, which must push the air through the vocal cords to the resonators. And this unfortunately distorts the pronunciation. To open the paths for air, the positioning of the vocal folds, etc. This requires many years of learning, many hours every day, until to death. In this case, I suspect that some texts in his native language may be misunderstood. Just like in the opera, we often don't understand what the singers are singing about because of the position of their mouths and tongues. That's why librettos were distributed in operas. Thirdly, at the beginning I thought that you were a German speaking English, but this is my subjective feeling, maybe only mine, and no one else perceived it this way. I will understand that the song is not your style, that you don't like the lyrics because music is a subjective matter. However, assessing a foreigner's pronunciation only proves that you do not have the appropriate upbringing. A cultured person will not criticize a foreigner's pronunciation and will even be grateful that someone has worked hard and is trying to speak a foreign language.. Maybe it's your bad upbringing , maybe bad character, maybe ignorance, but I won't investigate.

The first song I heard was SOS didn’t have captions on, listened to other songs, then listened to Ikaniaide , will be forever grateful I didn’t put captions on, the absolute beauty of this song will forever make it my favourite, although the words were beautiful when I listened with captions later, it was obvious what it was about in essence. Dimash is his voice, his accent, his emotion, to miss all this and only hear his pronunciation shows me people aren’t listening, if that makes sense.

  • @Roly-dy3vm
    @Roly-dy3vm 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +41

Admittedly, Dimash has difficulty with the English language, but it is not easy to learn a foreign language especially when you never used such language in your life. It is easier to learn English when you are living in an environment where everybody speaks English, unfortunately, that is not the case here.
In our country, we feel very proud to hear a foreigner speaking our language regardless of the pronunciation, enanciation, accent, and other defects.

When you can pronounce at least one phrase in Kazakh, maybe then you will judge Dimash for his pronunciation! In the meantime, you can’t even pronounce his name correctly! And yes, he is not a speaker, he is a singer and the main thing is his vocals!

Hi! I think you guys enjoy the song quite a bit! We dears, accept and love his "dimglish" because the high quality of each performance. His pronounciation is not so relvant, indeed. This is not only because his magnificent voice but for all the talent he puts in each work. And all the talented people who sourrondend him artistically, technically, etc. I believe he has taken some influences from a studio calling Hammer Studio that made horror films at the sixties and too from Dracula or Interview with the vampire... Whatever, my English could be really bad, but I hope it could be understood... Regards to you both from Buenos Aires... la Reina del Plata 🙂

English is a language of accents. This is due to the fact that it was the language of the empire. There is American English, Indian, Australian, etc. English.
In the USA there is even a regional English language: residents of some states are difficult to understand for those who have not encountered their dialect.
And the reactors on TH-cam speak English differently, and their pronunciation does not match the standard - Oxford English.
The emphasis on pronunciation is a kind of ignorance.

    Dimash is a genius!
A great storyteller and paradigm breaker!
Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality...
Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is:
A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures.
Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing...
The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details.
As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone!
The music video is a story that pays homage to several classic dramas involving supernatural creatures and passion! The impeccable editing with precise cuts that complete the script, simple and extremely efficient effects and masterful performances: Dimash (the seductive and tormented vampire, Polina Guzieva (the passionate journalist), Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Sotolongo (the sinister butler) and the harem of soulless vampires (Angelin Sapozhnikova, Valeriya Lyasheva, Andreana Tkachenko, Maria Aristatarkhova, Lilia Kiser and Klinnyushina Alina), superb!
The music is a show in itself: a mix of Blue, Scat, Jazz, R&B, Rock... Captivating variations: a bridge to the chorus full of strength and seduction and a beautiful chorus inspired by classic rock and dexterity and Dimash's agility! In addition to the well-placed guitar solo performed by Abik Jeksen!
The video captures and captivates from the beginning to the sign, which we let pass while still mesmerized by the “spell” of the vampire who can break the fourth wall!
A giant, masterful, modern work that makes you want to watch it several times!
    1000 out of 10!
    Hugs from a Brazilian!

👉 Dimash does it again and again. He surprises us every time. I love his versatility and creativity, his wonderful voice. It doesn't fit into any box and I love that. It never gets boring.
I like the moment in the video when he smiles sensually cheeky at us, his dears, as if to say: 'Look at me and scream and rage.' I'm going to seduce this pretty blonde now... because I can! '
The two voices that come out of the scratchy gramophone are the original recordings of the LAKME flower duet from 1915 with two Russian sopranos (Maria Mikhailova (1864-1943) (soprano, interpreting Lakmé) and Antonina Panina (1870-1941) (mezzo-soprano, interpreting Mallika) - th-cam.com/video/91h-O_80Zq8/w-d-xo.html
In the Dimash News it is written:
On February 26, 2024 in Istanbul, Dimash Qudaibergen presented a music video for a new work “When I’ve got you”. The premiere took place as part of a press conference held by the artist in connection with his upcoming solo concert in Turkiye.
The main idea of the clip belongs to Dimash and the MV’s director Galym Asylov: “A world-famous artist, who leads a very private lifestyle, decided to give his first open interview. The young journalist chosen by him goes to the meeting in great excitement, immensely worried and tormented by the question: “What if?…”. The woman’s vivid imagination suggests a mysterious image of the main character and plunges her into a mystical story.
“Everyone knows that Dimash is a kind and simple person. Not much is known about his personal life, he does not often appear in the media space and does not give particularly personal interviews. We wanted to present the artist from a slightly different side, in a “book”, fictionalized image”, - shared the director.
Galym Assylov and Zhanibek Gusmanov - the second director of the project and line producer say that the shooting process was very interesting, it took place in Almaty. A creative team of more than 70 people worked on the clip with the involvement of specialists from China. It was there that the costume of the main character was sewn and together with Kazakhstan specialists created the whole image of the artist.
The casting was not simple enough: many actresses and models were tried for the role of the main character and other characters. Three locations were used in the clip, and the search for ancient culture was not an easy task. In a creative atmosphere, a large international team tried to create a mysterious story in every element of the interior, in every detail of the costume, in every frame.
The composition itself was written by Dimash. The author of the lyrics was Candice Kelly. The co-writer of the lyrics, co-producer, orchestrator and arranger was Dmytro Gordon.
“Working with Dimash is a dream for many, and I felt extremely honored and privileged that he has entrusted me to work on this song with him. It felt like a great responsibility, as “When I’ve Got You” was a step into a new direction for Dimash as an artist, and it was also something different for his core audience. Dimash told me that for some time, he wanted a track on the verge of blues, jazz, rock, and r&b, and my suggestion was to make it sound fresh and edgy - something raw but beautiful, something truly unexpected. That has resulted in a blend of some heavy drums, electric guitars and piano together with the orchestra, synthesizers, harmonica, and even a choir. We wanted the song to sound groovy, cinematic, epic, and bold. No holding back!,” shared Dmytro Gordon. (Dimash News)
    * The new video for the song “When I’ve got you” has gained more than 600 thousand views in a few days. Dimash said: “It is impossible to convey the emotions at the moment when you perform a new composition for the first time with words. I can probably only be understood by artists or composers, I can’t explain it in words right now. When I see the feedback, that’s probably the moment when I become one of the happiest people in the world. Because everything I do is only to please my audience”.
Dimash Kudaibergen. Press conference 26.02.24, Istanbul, Turkiye.

«Вам не понравилось, как Димаш произнёс одно слово на английском языке с акцентом» - «Сіз Димаштың ағылшын тіліне қанағаттанбадыңыз» - Try to at least read this phrases in Russian and Kazakh, written in Cyrillic, which many peoples use for writing, and not the Latin alphabet, which is familiar to you, but not to us, but Dimash has learned English, sings in it, but you, not knowing a single Kazakh or Russian word, criticize the pronunciation and find fault with the accent, reducing Dimash's brilliant vocals with stupid estimates. It's good that DIMASH will never know your unfair judgments and you will NEVER touch his cosmic creativity again, which you have not intellectually grown up to.

BRAVO!

    Nice reaction! 😊
Pronunciation is important for understanding. But on the other hand: you might even have problems understanding some people from the UK, who have very thick accents from some other region than your own, even if they speak proper English.
    So what‘s one word? 😅
And his accent doesn’t even hinder us from understanding the song at all.
Just think of it as another English dialect. (Dinglish) There are already so many. 😂
Many of us think Dinglish is cute. 🥰❤

What does Michael Jackson have to do with it???
The theme of vampires is as old as time. The clip was shot taking into account books about vampires and cinema.
The song has nothing to do with Jackson's style and vocals. MJ could never handle vocals like that.
It seems that the reactors are using Dimash to advertise their departed idol, so that he is not forgotten.
    Dimash is Dimash!

Lol ...issues with how he pronounces things . Personally love love love his Kazak accent and his english pronunciation. After all, when you think about how english is spoken all over the world it is difficult to say exactly whos english pronunciation is CORRECT and really.... does it matter? I am Canadian and personally, i find your English accent difficult to understand but it does not make it wrong nor right.

Oh my goodness, what a lovely surprise! Thank you both, he performed this at his concert in Hong Kong on December 23, I believe and I other new song called Smoke, we were fortunate enough to see them performed live because one person was given permission to stream the concert, for those of us who couldn’t be there, and we were thrilled, as you both said, this is very different from the usual songs and his own compositions are always awesome, and tend to lean in a different direction. Smoke is also his composition, and the official MV has a surprise twist to it, I definitely will attach a link for that. Thank You So Much ❤!

Honestly my Chinese was that bad in pronunciation, that I switched to Korean, but guess what... It's the same 😅🤣 . Never had this problems with Spanish, English or Italian, so I can understand how difficult it might be for Dimash to pronounce English words, who are so different to the kazakh ones.

I think of this one as Michael Jackson meets 50 Shades of Gray. LOL. Anyway, I love that he’s playing more with the lower part of his register and using growls and such-add that fantastic vocal agility and this is a pretty darned good foray into rock/blues video. His English isn’t quite there yet but he’s coming along really well.
Great reaction-if you haven’t seen Smoke yet, it might be worthwhile to check out both the performance video and the official one. I actually like the performance video a bit better.
