Ran into your stuff this last month. I am a retired adjuster after 34 years working staff and independent. Did Hurricanes Hugo, Andrew, Katrina and many more unknown storms.
How did you last for so long? Most people seem to get burned out quickly
@@latisewilson4561 i guess i enjoyed the meeting of people that thought it would never happen to them and it did. Parents of deceased children in car accidents, large tornado and hurricane events. It wasn't boring as ever day was different . Helping people when disaster hits them was the pay off. I was a Santa Claus adjuster not a Grench adjuster. I looked for ways to pay. That is the trick. I had an attitude of "its only money and its not even mine".
Absolutely, an llc is, in my opinion, the best way to go. My main reason would be the protection it offers. Secondly, there are some tax benefits being that you owe on what is left in the company at the end of the year.
I knew her when she was a trainer. She keeps it real.

Taylor Jones host a prerecorded State Farm property cert Webinar that they send to you when you take the test through Eberl. It is by far the best available. She doesn't waste anytime on things you don't need to know and she explains things very clearly. I think it's the best way to get that Certification through Eberl. Thanks Matt

How is your career going?
I’ve been a claims adjuster for 8 years. Worked for 4 insurance companies and I’m licensed with several states. However, my job is very different than yours. As an auto claims adjuster. (Inside) adjuster. I’m the deciding who is at fault for the accident, getting statements from the drivers, witnesses, paying or denying claims, and a million more things, We also assigned appraisers to do estimates. All this hard work we only make around 50k a year, max 55 and 60k is pretty high up there. I don’t pass the 53k and no matter where I moved to they start us back at 50k. I can read and not only read but I’m the one that has to explain the estimate to the insured or claimant. However , I’ve never been out in the field or written an estimate and most adjusters that you deal are always inside a building. When you call what’s going with my claim? That’s me. I want to be out there, that’s what I want, How can I switch to that. I already have the licenses, I do the investigation, coverage, liability, I know how to read an explain an estimate or like 20 a day. How do I transition from being an inside claims adjuster from Progressive insurance making 50k a year to being an independent adjuster, being out in the field and making 80k a year. How?

It may not be realistic to make $100k in 1 month with Ebrel, but its absolutely possible as an independent CAT adjuster from a catastrophe.

Happy 4th AdjusterTV where are you right now? and thank you for the great content. I would think running your business as a corp or llc would defiantly benefit you tax wise, however i was curious how some of these companies would feel about sub contracting claims to another business instead of an individual.

My friend is an independent adjuster and sparked an interest in me doing this. Im in the process of getting licences and everything in order to make the career change. Yes most likely. Unless you're doing file review only, in which case you'll probalby just need access to Xactanalysis.

Hi, I'm completely new to all this but my dad works as an Independent Adjuster and he's mentioned to me about this career. I have no experience as an adjuster here in SC, would the first step be going to take the class in TX to receive the license? When that is done, would I just apply to Eberl? I'm really interested in pursing this but I'm so overwhelmed.

If you're doing cat wind/hail, you'll spend half of every claim on a roof.
I would get an LLC for the tax benefits. What have you found to be the best strategy ?
Well, my entire career has been mostly W2. But if I do more 1099 and end up with significant assets I need to protect, I'll consider an LLC.

@@AdjusterTV I just assumed the major CAT companies paid via 1099. Am I incorrect in this assumption?
I've historically deployed with Pilot the MOST, but I've worked for a number of other firms. Last time I worked with Pilot they paid W2. It's worth a quick call to the firms you're interested in to ask if they pay 1099 or W2.
I'm retired from a major carrier as their national trainer for commercial property claims. Knowing I was going to work as an IA, the first thing I did was create my LLC. I got a great CPA to help, and still employee her for my accounting. The LLC has signficant tax benefits and limits liability exposure. It's a critical tool for a professional adjuster.
I just passed my exam for the all lines Adjuster license!!!! Currently waiting to submit my application when my certification come back in the mail! I just need help getting started with getting work or a job in the field! I’m also willing and able to relocate! Any help to getting a job??
Get on as many IA rosters as you can as you get started in this gig. But also, be prepared for things to be slow between now and next spring.
I WANT to be a claims adjuster, but I have failed two assessment tests to even get an interview from Progressive and another company. I want to do this job, but no one is giving me the opportunity. How can I get past the assessment? How can I become a claims adjuster without paying $2k for a course?
