    Hey Ollie. Firstly- great race, massive kudos for hanging in there on such a long and attritional course. You’d have been in the mix without the chain drop. Grumpy old (56) man view on the steering- I personally think it’s an unfair edge. Appreciate that people are paying for the privilege of use but it just seems a little excessive to me. Final point- I’d really like to be in a few races where everyone just rode at temp for the first half. We have all become so conditioned to fast start, ease, VO2 max on every bump, etc. I guess most of these races are so short that they automatically become a “let’s burn as many people as we can” but occasionally it would be nice to see something a bit different! Think that the pack dynamics still don’t help, so difficult to break away if catch a reasonable size group with a few big hitters. Rant over, great to see that the training is paying dividends.

      Hi Andrew, hope you’re well mate 👍🏻 thanks very much, I’ve got the new chain now so hopefully won’t happen again! It was a tough course, those type of races really take it out of me, Zwift love a punchy course! I’ve been on the fence with the steering for a while (probably why I haven’t made the purchase yet) I didn’t like the fact I kept getting pushed out to the side - the steering does feel a little ‘pay to win’ and quite over powered.
      I’d absolutely love to see a slower start too - one of the main things that I liked about the original FRR series (back in the day) were the neutralised starts - it’d be good if Zwift could implement some sort of rollout - maybe a race where if you pass the marker before a certain point (if you start racing before you’re meant to) you get zapped? Would be interesting to see if something like that could work 👍🏻

    Nice work Olly gutted your chain dropped you were looking really strong! Hi mate, hope you’re fully recovered now, what a shame! There’s been a few times where I’ve wanted to pack it in and just do what I’ve always done because I do miss racing more than once a week! Hopefully I’ll keep it going 👀

      @@notpogi getting there mate, wrist and neck is still sore but able to get out and ride and just lucky it wasn’t any more serious, car failed to stop at a round about and just clattered into me, nothing I could have done! Keep going with the training it’s obviously playing dividends! Yeah I’m part of a team again so will be doing ZRL, along with my own racing been doing ladder races with them which has been really enjoyable. Will be racing A so will be tough but it’s all good training, not sure about any FRR, started the chasing red series but could only commit a week, but really enjoy the tour base racing does so much for fitness I find. Will you be riding ZRL for Rapha?

    • @notpogi
      @notpogi  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Mate that sounds horrific, glad you’re on the mend 👍🏻 I think I’m racing for Rapha again, probably start off in C and then change depending on how fit I am. I love the tour based stuff too - I really wanted to give the chasing series a go, I’ll maybe try and do the next FRR and another chasing if they have a week series before the end of the year. Good to see you’re in A mate, you’re an absolute machine! 💪🏻

    I use Zwift Sauce for extra data on the screen. The draft % data is critical in keeping you in the best draft. You spent a fair chunk of time on the right side out on the wind there. Just need to slow up a tad and allow your rider to slide left into a better draft. Steering helps a lot with that too. The combination of steering and the drafting % data being displayed helps you ride as efficiently as possible. Good job on getting your race fitness back but I reckon you should be racing B grade. :D

    • @notpogi
      @notpogi  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think I’d enjoy having the extra data on screen, it would prompt me to sit back I think as I’m often in the wind! I will have a look into sauce and the steering going forward 👍🏻
      Thanks very much - happy that I’m gaining a bit now, I don’t think it’ll be too long until I’m a back racing cat B again 😀

    Argh Ollie i'm gutted for you, I've had this a few times where connections dropped, I watched the race on David Hiveys channel and as soon as I saw your wkg go to zero I knew something had happened, up until that point you were looking really strong mate so that 6 weeks of training has put you in a great position ready for ZRL. I'm using Apple TV aswell so don't use sauce but I do have the zwift play controllers and honestly it makes such a difference so I would definitely recommend. Hopefully see you out on course soon mate!

      @notpogi  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi mate! I couldn’t believe it considering how long was left to go! David is very strong - decent win for him! I’ve enjoyed the training mate, it’s probably the most I’ve ever ridden, I’m actually looking forward to ZRL for a change 🤣
      Interesting that you use the Zwift controllers, do you connect through Bluetooth via your phone? I do need something like this! Definitely hope to see you on Zwift soon mate - it’d be so good if we randomly get into the same ZRL group 👍🏻

    • @philcox810
      @philcox810 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@notpogi That would be mega if we got put into the same league, ill let you know when I know what team i'm in as I think we have enough for two teams this round.
      So because Apple TV only has a few bluetooth channels what happens when you connect the Zwift play is it moves everything to either your phone or tablet on the companion app. Because phones and tablets have up to 7 or 8 bluetooth channels it can accomodate for everything.
      Zwift hasn't got around to splitting the channels so you can have HR, Power meter and cadence on Apple TV and the zwift play through the companion app. Hopefully this helps Ollie.

    • @notpogi
      @notpogi  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

    • @philcox810
      @philcox810 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@notpogi Apologies Ollie, they haven't got around to doing this yet so essentially what happens is as soon as you add more channels than what Apple TV can take it automatically switches you to bluetooth through the companion app. It still works great but it just means all you're using Apple TV for is just firing up Zwift itself
