Commerson Eruption Simulation (2016)

Simulation of the Commerson Eruption from 2'000 years ago on Reunion Island !
This simulation was completed in 2016 as part of a collaboration with the Cité du Volcan museum. It was a huge amount of work !
First recreating a 3D view of the current Commerson crater (thanks to collaboration with Alain Bertil !)
Then reconstructing the past of the landscape, resculpting all the valley (thanks to patient work of Eric Chahi 🙂 !)
Then using the simulator to recreate the crater evolution, and the key phases of this major eruption !

Merci :) c'était beaucoup de travail mais c'est un projet qui était assez génial à faire, recréer les cartes avant l'éruption, et ensuite re-simuler l'évolution du cratère et des coulées de lave ! et j'adore les rendus de nuit qu'on peut avoir avec le lac de lave :)

Bela simulação. Mas eu creio que as maiores chances de explosão do la fournaise, estão na cratera colossal, aubert, na bory e talvez, na região da cassé de la rivière de l'est, onde existe uma cratera que parece ter sido formada por um deslizamento.
