Thank You!!! I’m glad it makes sense. It works even better if you have the component window open that you can click and drag that particular hole component that you created a cut face for into other components.
Thanks again Drew. I am at the end of your video uploads. It's been since June and I'm viewing this on 9/24. I hope you are well and there is nothing of issue with you or your family. I understand life happens and TH-cam is a side-line/marketing/tutorial service you're providing us basically for free ( I do sincerely hope you make a decent amount in view revenue, you certainly have earned it!). Give us an update if it's something you can share...otherwise I'll just wait, impatiently, for your next video or tutorial. My sincere best wishes and thanks for all you've done for us out here in TH-cam land. Tony "V"
+Tony V hey Tony, I know I’ve already responded to you through email on this but everything is going good and a new video has been uploaded as of today. Thank You!!!
Great technique! I’m gonna try and adapt it to render a series of sliding shelf dados in a panel. I’ve seen all your Sketchup videos and have learned so much. Thank you!
I think the difference with the extra circle push/pull is with when you make it a component. I just did it Make v13 without a second circle, pushed in, then made it a component, and did all the copies OK too.
This sketch up series is "Ever Green" material Drew. People will come back to review these videos for years into the future. Just like your "Joinery Series" from a few years ago. I still go back and review those videos from time to time.
So can someone explain why he was able to make the shelf pins holes without the ring in the other video? I'm confused why you would do it this way vs Video #5. This adds a bunch of extra steps. The other way was faster.
If you only had a few holes to do, video five would be faster but if you have multiple pieces with a considerable amount of holes to push and pull, this method in video seven is much faster because you don’t have to individually push and pull each hole 3/8 of an inch deep. With video seven you do one hole with a push and pull and then because it is a component it will automatically push pull with every copy you make.
I feel like an idiot asking, but everyone says sketchup is free. When I tried to get it, it was only free for 30 days then you have to pay for it. To me that is not free. Am I doing something wrong? Please advise
Get sketchup 2017. It will let you try the pro version for 30 days. Afterwards it reverts to Make. The pro features are no longer available. There,s still quite a bit you can do with the “free”version. 2017 “free” is what I am running. Not sure if this format is available for 2018 & 2019.
It's cool that sketch up is free. But as a user of solid works at my job, sketch up is brutally cumborsum. Nice video though. I dabbled with sketch up, because to use solid works at home, I have to transfer the seat. And remember to transfer it back. Nice to see 3-d design software for free.
Finally! An understandable explanation of Cut Face! Thanks.
Thank You!!! I’m glad it makes sense. It works even better if you have the component window open that you can click and drag that particular hole component that you created a cut face for into other components.
That was something I learned after this video was made

Awesome to hear and thank you for dropping me a line.
Really cool tip. Will help in future builds! 👍
Check my most recent upload on sketch up and you’ll see how it works even more efficient. Look for the pocket hole video
Well done for us uneducated. !!!!!. Good job. Keep it up.
Ha. I feel like that all the time.
Yes that did blow my mind. What if you needed the hole counter sunk? Do you do the same think?
You can utilize the second circle to do a countersink if you so chose to
Yes my mind is blown. Keep your sketchup series coming. I have made a file folder that I am keeping your sketchup series in so I can get to them fast.
Awesome Ron. Thank You!!!
I can’t think right now... mind is blown!!! 💥 💥 💥Boom!
Boom!
Thanks for sharing. That’s the best method I’ve seen for making multiple holes
It works well. Thank You!!!
Pretty cool Drew, just tried it in my Sketchup old version 8 and it worked like a charm. Thanks!
That’s awesome. Glad to hear that it worked for you.
That's what I like. I've learned a new way of doing something. Thanks Drew.
You’re welcome Mike!

Glad you liked it bro. Thank You!!!
Thanks for the info Drew, definitely going to reference your videos when I eventually get around to learning Sketchup! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Eventually...... thanks Fred! Good luck
That is so neat!
Thank You!!!
Hi, thanks for the tip! I followed your instructions to the letter but I could not do it. The push pull tool didn't work. I could not do the hole...

Thanks Mike!
I follow you on Instagram did not know you had a TH-cam channel I now subscribed I used to live in Ardmore long time ago
Awesome, nice to have you leave. I am actually headed to Ardmore on Friday. I currently live in Moore
Awesome.

Sketch up make is free but sketch up Pro is not
Thanks

So is cut face a tool? A plug-in?
+Chuck Maddox no it is not a plug in. Just follow the video and you do this too.
Drew,💯💯👍👏👏👏👏👏 share 👍
Thank You!!! Really appreciate it.

😝 sounds time consuming if you go from place to place. Never used solid works.
Could have done without the max hit to my laptop speakers.
Oops, sorry about that.
