    Welcome to Part 3 of the Cabinet Door tutorial. Remember in Part 1, we made the stiles with profiles, part 2 was for the rails with positive and negative profiles and now part three is dedicated to the panel itself.
    Here I show you how to make a raised panel with three different moldings, round over, roman ogee, and chamfer/shaker. This tutorial will be helpful for any of you that are wanting to present to a client on either a simple refacing job to a full on cabinet redo in a kitchen. This is an accurate representation of how doors will look when properly performed in the shop and installed in your own home or even a client's home.

    A lot more complicated than I usually go with my models, but the end result is definitely worth it!

      I normally do this for clients that are wanting their cabinets refaced because if they are not sure exactly what profile they want for the center panel then this gives them a great idea

    Drew great video as usual. One thing I do on projects like this is to make a copy of the component and modify it that way you don't need to worry about messing up the original. Once I am satisfied with the results I delete the copy.

      Very good idea. I do something similar when I am making a plywood parts layout. I copy the entire project and pick it apart to make sure all parts are accounted for.

    Great tutorial. I am new to sketchup and your teaching still has made it very easy to learn.

    The greatest advantages I find using Sketchup for my business is material estimation, and being able to give my clients a digital rendering of the project. Most of the time, the client know what they want, but have trouble articulating it. Having sketchup allows me to give them a digital representation of what I heard them say. Most of the time, the render matches their wants. There have been quite a few times though, that the client has either changed their minds about styling, or my drawing doesn't match their wants. Being able to do this digitally saves lots of time, materials, and prevents errors!

      Exactly. It is the best tool for my business. Without it I would not be able to close the deals I have had lately.

    How would you make an arched panel?

  • @trueleyes
    @trueleyes 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    your drawing is incorrect. the raised panel is flush on both faces of the frame. there is a quark on the backside for movement and or give and take of the tung and groove to fit properly. but panel and frame are flush on both faces. both frame and panel are 3/4" thick ea.
