    Bless you my brother!!
    I have a welder and grinder I bought to fix up things around our home, I have the weights and bars but haven't used them much.
    I'll just weld a hoop onto them (both bar and dumbbell bars) to attach the cable.
    I will find the pulleys or substitute other kinds for them,
    Lastly I will buy the cable.
    I only have to choose a wall (asking my wife about it in an hour when she gets up, this is happening today!!) to set it up against and start on building it!!
    I have been wondering how to build such a machine as it is the best for both space & practicality - I can work out at any time and in any weather since it fits in just about 2 feet deep and 7 feet across!!
    Not only are those on sale prohibitively expensive but they also take up a lot of space.
    You are literally a Godsend.
    It is 4am here and I came across your video!!
    Bless you and keep up the good work,
    Kind regards,
    Simon.

    I like this design. Minimal pulleys required. Upper and lower pulleys pivot making this a versatile machine. I am going to build one side first, very similar to this.
    In hindsight, do you think that the top pulley(0:59) feeding the lower pulley, also needs to pivot or could it be fixed solid? Does it move at all going through the range of motion?

    I am interested on the amount of effort required vs the weight (ie mechanical advantage) with that mobile pulley near the weight. Its hard to assess from the video, but does this set up reduce the effort by half because of the mobile pulley? It does appear he lifting effortlessly and the distance he moves appears to be twice that of the weight. This means a lot of weight is needed for the necessary tension to stress the muscles.

    • @diyguru1
      @diyguru1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course. This is a 2: 1 ratio. A weight weighing 10 kg is like lifting 5 kg.

    Assembly by myself was not too hard. I took my time and followed the diagrams. I particularly like the pictures and names of the exercises organized by muscle groups on the front of the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxKJHyBZ9I1py9vVi-XLpEBg0y-qmdhn3q . Considering the number of exercises it has a relatively small footprint. I needed a machine that was not too tall because I only have 79" headroom in my cabin and this was just over 78". It is easy to use, seems to be well made, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am doing upper body muscles on Monday and Thursday. Lower body exercises are being done on Tuesday and Friday. Not using it on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am a reasonably fit 66 year old man and this is a great workout.
