There was nothing this man couldn't play! And I was fortunate to spend some time with him in Redlands. One of the most celebrated geniuses in American music, & one of the sweetest men I ever met, always with a big grin on his face. Indelibly unforgettable!
Nice job. One correction: Johnny Richards wrote this, not Bill Russo. I have the original Richards score. Also, Russo verified to me that it wasn’t his.
Thanks for the correction, i wasn't sure about that. Johnny Richards was the conductor of this session, but Russo was named in the booklet as the arranger.
@@jmwmusic16251 It looks like you copied the 3rd trombone incorrectly from the original Richards score in measures 23-24. It shouldn’t be unison with the 2nd trombone.

orquestra sensacional. Músicos de extraordinário talento.
This was one of my favorites as a kid learning the craft..
Maynard was awesome during his time with Stan Kenton.
Wow, what a great transcription well done Jörn 🎺
I´m glad i´ve met you JMW!
Extraordinary transcription, Mr. Marcussen-Wulff. Wow! wonderful work.
This is so glorious. Thanks for sharing it with the world.
Everyone has a role to play -the bass trombone is the bottom, which is part of the whole to get to the top.
Jörn !!! Congrats. And: Thanks.

This is amazing! Are other Kenton arrangements available elsewhere? Like "America", "Concerto to End All Concertos"? Thanks for sharing!
Where can I get a copy of this?
What year was this released? 👏 👏 Brillant.
Oh I see. 1952.
