I love the detail when you about to literally erase Dision out of his simulated existence, his voice begins to glitch as you go through his source program and erasing him.
I played the PS2 trilogy, as well as 7. After playing the Project Nemo translation of AC3, I was blown away by the story and the general atmosphere. Great video on one of my favorite Ace Combat titles.
Namco then thought that the multi-disc, multi-ending original release were "too complicated" to import, and that the international scene weren't interested in the anime style. Some of them rings true to the casual new fans to this day.
Also AC8 needs to start building up towards the events of AC3. It doesn't need to be equal to AC3, it just needs to show Neucom and General Resource rise to power, possibly with Yoko or Simon on it.
I wouldn’t mind a Remake with a Retcon made so that AC3 (canonically being a simulation) was a Belkan experiment to further develop the ZOE program. Especially after 7 was all about Drones and AI.
As much as 3 was ambitious, I can see why it failed in Japan. Imagine going from an arcady top gun flight game straight to some dystopia nightmare future plane game because Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell were the hot new things in Japanese media.
I hope that with a different age now, Project Aces can salvage AC3's plot by building up towards it in AC8. It doesn't need to bring weird futuristic planes to it, it just needs to give more focus to Simon and the General Resources and Neucom.
@@victuz Project Aces will butcher the plot of Ace Combat 3. They already did when they rewrote many events to fit their "it's all Belka's fault" narrative. @@Zhawn7 Pretty much yes. Even if Belkans are not directly involved in the conflict or causing it through subterfuge they're always the scientists behind the most advanced technology.
This is a better Ace Combat analysis video than most. Not to mention covering Ace Combat 3 more than just the Japanese multi-ending story. Thank you. Here's hoping ILCA is visionary enough to make Ace Combat 8 as revolutionary as the Japanese version of this game, or at least as fun as Ace Combat 6.
Appreciate the feedback. I'm new to the analysis game, so it means a lot! With the tech that exists today, and seeing what was available way back then, I have no doubt that something truly revolutionary could be made, the question is if they'll actually do it. Fingers crossed.
@@JarboeGaming one thing most Ace Combat analysis videos don't cover is the gameplay. Since you can spot the different physics modelling in this game, mentioning it on other AC games with different models (like AC6's) would make some very good videos. Of course, mentioning the prominent & unspoken gameplay features of each games as well. Keep it up. You got several subs from this & I can see further more. 👍
I would like to mention that Project Nemo deserve recognition. They made the first fan translation of this game and create the medium for others to improve on. They made the heavy lifting since before the new fans AC7 bring to the franchise.
This was my first Ace Combat game, I remember seeing it at a local shop, it was in Japanese but as soon as I saw the intro cinematic I bought it right away, couldn't understand a thing but I had a great time, would be cool to play it again with the patch
And here it is, the missing epic, the lost masterpiece... the one that the rest of the world got a _disgraceful mockery of_ instead of an export. Few things have made me more sad in the history of the videogame industry than learning I might never get a chance to properly play the end of the timeline for Strangereal. (Also, the truth about Nemo and the events of the game is the single most frightening reveal possible if you see the trends in IRL combat flight platforms.) A true high concept sci-fi story. I really want a sequel (in terms of an Ace Combat game set not long after this one) where the corporate war starts, and the ominous force of destruction that keeps swinging things mysteriously is Nemo. Setting up the player character as one of those outliers not predicted and watching as the plan for Nemo derails and Nemo reacts. A worthy opponent that isn't Dision? Surely Nemo would have to respond, even if the mission is complete. Nemo fly's and fights, that is it's existence. Plus it would make for a great final boss to have a confrontation with a previous player character that is canonical to Strangereal's timeline.
Easily my favorite game of the franchise, speaking as someone who started with 04 just as you said. I like how you mentioned the flight model specifically, and I think you can really see it in play during the post-mission replays. The way that the planes gracefully drift about through the sky was absolutely enamoring, and I was shocked to find out people didn't enjoy how it handled. Honestly I wish the latter games had a similar model. Also something of note, the animated cutscenes were all done by Production I.G. Largely, by the same team that did the legendary Ghost in the Shell film. Very fitting for the subject matter.
Ace Combat 3 was waaaay ahead of its time. I hope Ace Combat 8 does a good job of tying 3 to the overall story of Strangereal, because as it stands with 7, there are hints and references to 3's timeline. It would be absolutely crazy if we end up fighting against Nemo in a future mainline Ace Combat game.
Honestly makes little sense as to why they would jump from Ace1&2 which are kinda the same, To something radically different and Nothing to do with previous games !? Well Except for The Fictional World. I haven’t played 3 yet anyway Either Versions; But Knowing that 3 Started the Detailed Flight Physics Has me Rooting for it ! Oh yeah and the fact that It’s Supposedly set In Far Future being the Latest Lore Wise (basically end of Ace Combat Lore/Nothing beyond it) To Going Backwards Or Reseting Even Rebooting the So called Story with Ace04 which is Just Ace2 but WAY more fancy ?
Dision truly was an absolute sad man, he got cheated on by his own partner in front of himself by himself and then imediatelly saw her die and then went on to get purged in the future at a high probability rate if Simon's algorithms were correct. Can't say that he didn't deserve it though, that's what he gets for manipulating Rena on all timelines and all of the atrocities due to his sublimation plot. I Wonder if we'll ever see another AC game with this cyberpunk setting again though, we got somewhat close with the AI plot of AC7 but the game still felt very modern and aside from some of the drone designs and space elevator, most of the game felt very present day in its presentation. EDIT: The OST is also goated, it's my favorite out of all of the games.
No he didn't get cheated. You need to understand that there are 2 Disions at that point. One is the real human Dision, another is AI Dision created through sublimation. When AI Dision was born it saw human Dision making love with Yoko. At that time his mind could not comprehend this, because in its perspective, it thought it was the real Dision. And not long afte that, it saw Human Dision and Yoko got killed
I had the pleasure to play both versions (there is even a third version, european, wich showed some story through text) and one of the main differences I've found from version to version was the difficulty, hard in the us version was compared to normal in the japanese version, another interesting thing that the game shows and I think it is important to say about the story is that all crafts are controlled by mind (the image on 15:40 is not just for the night raven) and even in one of the missions you are facing an virus wich every time you pass on it's influence zone you starts to black out and receive damaged due to virus hacking into you
If Ace Combat 2 hadn't been the strongest drug ever made, Nostalgia, I would've picked this game as the best game in the series. and i played all AC games in half a year, before the release of 7, and after that 6's pre-order. and still 3 comes on top for me, because of "Ambition". edit: i feel like the game would lose it's atmosphere if it was remade in a more realistic style. taking a realistic design style, is a style, and it's biggest flaw is that it has no style, and waters down any atmosphere that is related to games and tries to compensate it by making it look like a movie, it is a poison that comes from the movie industry, because no real effort was made to evaluate video games as a medium. "making a game realistic" has been mistakenly seen as something that every game company must achieve, but i think it's undervalues video games and shows how much people are insecure about calling video games more than child's play. style doesn't make a game more mature, even if games don't look mature, they could be, but dummies can't muster enough pride and courage to say it. I want Ace Combat 3 to be remade in this PS1 older graphics but actually go all the way with it.
AC3 is the best Ace Combat game. Nothing comes close. Even its story thematically is way more significant than most of other games 4:35 "than even the latest games in the series" dude the flight model was on the decline since AC3. They lost the source code with AC4 and AC6 introduced multiplayer that "warranted" worse physics. Now AC7 is a toddler level game. Also missile physics are pretty good in AC3 compared to later games (which lack them lol)
Very nice video! One thing I don't understand with the story is how would Dision and Nemo interact with their squad mates? I mean everybody assume they are both humans. (since the shock of the revelation of Dision being sublimated) They both have no physical bodies since Dision was already sublimated and Nemo is an AI. A lot of communications between the characters happen remotly so I can understand that they can have a fake avatar. But Keith hinted that pilots still had some interactions between each others. I think at some point, if you save Keith's life, he says something like "we should drink a beer together". And Dision being his best buddy, I bet they'd met each other often. Or maybe it didn't happen since the attack where Yoko died? Maybe it's a little plot hole or maybe I'm missing something, what do you think? Anyway, I like the overall plot, even though the motivations of Simon are a bit silly in the end. I'd LOVE to see an upscaled version of all these gorgeous cinematics.
There are a couple of interactions where other characters are talking to you and say things like "Oh, still not there?" But yeah I agree. I would think this would become apparent at some point to your fellow squadmates.
Playeyd International release in my childhood (6-8 y/o). Was a good memory. Replayed it 15 years after (i was 21-23... mb 25 even), but Japanese relise ... ... It's so f|_|ck!n9 awesome ... best game in series, it's crime it doesn't have remake. P.S. 1999, arcade flying sim, 5 endings + 1 real, none-linear plot, factions, some good physics, PS1 ... AC 7 should be ashamed
I really like Ace Combat 3 and it left a impact on me early on, played the JP release first; while I don't think its the best in the series, it does a lot right. Something that stands out to me is that it's the only *“Kitai” game I know of that incorporates elements of psychological horror. The whole fight with Dision in the electrosphere and the scene where he gets sublimed is honestly pretty creepy stuff. As for its quality since you didn't expect it, it’s somewhat typical of PS1 games from the pre-Y2K and Y2K era - they’re just good. Will you do a video on Ace Combat 2? It’s not as great as Electrosphere, but there’s something magical about it. The soundtrack and simplicity of the missions make it one of the most fun Ace Combat games, despite its age. It’s not as great as Zero or 3, but it’s purely fun. and it aboslutely left a impact in the series as the modern Ace Combat forumula came from this game and clones from the PS2 era directly copy Ace Combat 2’s formula down to the “Break Now” intro sequence as opposed to taking from the better ace combat games. On another note, a game series you should look into is Armored Core. If you haven’t tried it, you should. Ace Combat and Armored Core share a lot of mutual inspiration and even some of the same concept artists. like really, to me, Armored Core is like the Ace Combat of mechs. The controls on earlier games are a bit clunky, but they all support analog on buttons via emulator, which I think is the best way to play them. If you haven't touched that series at all you should. Master of Arena on the PS1 is a good one to start with. I also bring this up because there are huge similarities between the series' overall aesthetic and tone when compared to Ace Combat 3. *Also to clarify what I mean by “Kitai” (機体), it’s a Japanese term for media involving fighter Jets or Mecha as the centerpiece. It translates to “Airframe”. It's a bit fustrating they're treated more as split genres in the west when both are related, ig it has to do with the western perception that a Mecha is more of a MBT rather than that a walking Fighter plane.
Eventually all AC games will be covered, it's just a matter of time really. Appreciate the response, I'd never heard that term before, so thank you! As far as Armored Core goes, I played a couple of them way back in the day and plan on covering them, as well as the latest title as well. Old Gundam games are also some of my favorites. They will all be getting covered in future videos!
I never played ace combat games outside of 7 and assault horizon (which I don’t think might have been the best introduction to the series) but after 7 I really wanted to know more about the series and so far your videos have been the best about this, also wish you would do a video about ace combat zero
I picked up the Japanese version in San Francisco's Japan Town in the early 2000s. Despite not knowing Japanese there's enough pathos and semiotics in play from the games design I got the broad strokes of the story. Online forums filled in key details. It really was a singular experience then. The fan translation was a joy to discover a few years ago. Hard to believe Namco didn't go further with this story in later releases, insofar as I've seen. Played a bit of AC7. It was not what I was looking for. Excellent vid here
my first experience with the game was the demo, i fell in love imidiatlly. imagin my dismay at getting the full game and realizing the story was gotted. when i finally played the full translated version i was on cloud nine
One of my first PS1 games when I was a kid. I had the international version and I was like 8 so I had no idea what was going on. I would love to see a remake. They aren't known for doing that though. However, the story of 7 kind of hinted that it's getting close to this time.
I was a small kid when I played international version and thought that the story doesn't end up, but the universe was fascinating. English wasn't my mother tongue and I barely knew it, so I went to a local gaming club and asked if there's a sequel to the Ace Combat 3. The club owner actually pulled from under the table the Japanese release and said that here's the full game but it's in Japanese so nobody needs it and he gifted the game to me. So I kinda combined the bare bones knowledge of the characters and factions from international release and the events from the Japanese release and played the game for dozens of hours completing all endings. Still barely understood what's going on but had tremendous amount of fun.
This was my first foray into Ace Combat and I never knew we got such a dumbed down version in the west. I'm going to have to check out this translation. I loved this game so much growing up, it's wild that the 'real' game was even better all along!
I remember emulating the Japanese version of AC3 on my phone(The Project Nemo one), I played a few missions before I dropped the game due to device issues along with the glitchy audio I plan on emulating the game again when I get a PC along with Emulating the Holy trinity of Ace Combat games
Man, a game from 1994 holds up better than games that were made just last year. That said, despite the different tone and all, I’d say Ace Combat 3 is pretty dope to this day, just as long as you get the original version and patch it with the fan translation, instead of that watered down, 2 dollars worth, western release. (Also, Electrosphere is such a cool title)
Would be great in they also make english voice acting on this down the line like the recent fan re-dub of Bloody Roar 2 with pro voice actors. This game's awesome. Phenomenal job by Loadword Team.
I played a Ps1 demo disk that came bundled with the Ps1 and had 1 misson of Ace combat 3 the international version.. played it hundreds of time , but in my country the game never released , having said that the itch to experience a full ace combat game never left me and when finally Ace Combat 4 released and was available in my country I bought it , and have been an ace combat fan since then.
I just finished this game on last Sunday. It was the international version, but i still got hooked by the gameplay, graphics, music. Kinda silly way to get into a series but i am ready to play more Ace Combat games.
@@JarboeGaming I've had my eyes on the ps2 trilogy. Though i want to play Ace Combat 2 because i like the ps1 graphics x'D I actually found out that i have Ace Combat 5 in my collection. I just didn't knew the ps2 trilogy on PAL region had different names.
I played through Ace Combat 2 recently and then started Ace Combat 3, international version afterwards. The thing that threw me off is how different the planes felt. It was a pretty different feel. there was such a strange weight to the planes, which would slide and hold momentum. I would crash into the ground performing the same types of maneuvers that I did in AC2 without issue. Got the hang of it eventually, but I definitely want to try out the English patched Japan release, I want to experience the story for myself.
Good video. In retrospect, I wish I had played the Project Nemo translation instead as it is so much more flavourful. I've been watching a few videos and I played the Load Word Team's translation which is the one used in this video. I feel the writing was really poor and every character ended up sounding the same. It was also a little harder to follow as a result, though it is definitely not straightforward to untangle this game's story as it is. Leaving this comment here for future AC3 players.
@@motorsporttj1689 it literally was, they could not find a programmatic way of translating the encyclopedia. I just think it was better-written, the content is the same but it sounds much less stilted in Project Nemo's translation.
Without a doubt and objectively speaking the BEST Ace Combat to this day, so much ahead if his time, so much risky things even for tha company/developer/players, the story, branching, that mindblowing plot twist, etc. If someday this game get a Remake in the future, Hope not only maintain ALL of Ace Combat 3, but also EXPAND IT more than twice and toan ever mind blowing more bestial.
About the game Iplayed the international version as a kid some 20 years ago, and only discovered the truth recently. I had the chance to play the translated version on my anbernic RG35XX a few month ago. What a amazing game!! The fiona enfing broke my heart. A amazing fusion of ace combat and ghost in the shell! I was was blown away. One of the best ac, even more ambitious and deeper the holy Trinity! Trully deserve it's place in the pantheon of best ps1 games.
One thing that makes me confused is the entire simulation itself, like how come Simon aware of the terrorist organization. Not to mention if Nemo being unleashed then just how many of Nemo's are going to wandering around in the real world. Although if they ever make a direct sequel, I would imagine Simon plan just immediately fall apart for either Nemo fighting each other or a mute human pilot destroys everything.
I started with Ace Combat 2 on a demo disc way back in 1996ish. Then I played Air Combat and later got Shattered Skies. They were all fun but I enjoyed Ace Combat 4 the most of them. The PS1 games were not as varied and had issues with draw distance so it got repetitive. But it was still fun when I was 7 or 8 years old. I will have to play the japanese version of Electrosphere some day.
Ace Combat 3 broke me when i played it, especially the Electrosphere ending it got me stuck in a trance where i kept putting my actions into question yet my fingers were moving on their own to shoot down Dision i know, it sounds stupid, but my mind and my body got separated at that moment . . . even though i was questioning the mission, my body became mindless wings that only fly for destruction, like Rena and her Night Raven no other game has EVER made me feel this way my first Ace Combat was X on the PSP, so it's got a special place in my heart but 3? it's on a whole other level, it's own plane of existence even the feelings i have for this game are near impossible to describe to be honest, but one thing is for sure; Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere is the game that affected me the most on the emotional level, a true game to be remembered lots of people in the ACE community wants remakes of the 3 PS2 games, considered the "Golden Age" of Ace Combat instead i believe Ace Combat 3 would make for the best remake, maybe even a sequel in a few years, when AC3 will be well forgotten, like Simon said "forget everything you saw here", i want to see Nemo out there
"Does a 1999 Ace Combat game still Hold Up?" Yes, Japanese version. Namco unfortunately butchered everything that make Electrosphere beautiful in international release. Also here's a list i have on why Electrosphere hold up. 1.The only Ace Combat that ever goes to space 2.The only Ace Combat that have 52 missions and 5 endings 3.Anime cutscenes, FMV's 4.Chance to defect, choose your own fate thingy. 5.Airborne Carrier boys, our own airborne carrier.. UI-4053 Sphyrna 6.Well, shocking ending i guess. Finish all 5 routes and well you'll have Simon informed you that we're not real. 7.Database feature, strong world building 8.Most amount of female pilots (Fiona, Rena, Cynthia) 9.Complex Villain (Dision, Park, Nascimento) or almost no true Villain...except maybe Park 10. O.S.L Get A in all 52 missions and you'll get access to OLS.. all you need to do Is lock on target and it's gone. No maneuver, No Nonsense. 11. Unusual method to get X-49.. where you need a special CD which contain data named "DeadCopy" which will unlock X-49 for you. Tho.. it wont unlock OSL. That's my list of baddassery in the Ac3.. which so far not seen in later releases.
I love how in AC3 there is inertia! you can do high AoA flying and it feels way more satisfiying than in AC7 that feels like the plane is on rails... To be honest since i play War THunder i cant do with unrealistic physics, breaks my immersion lol
I played both releases. First, the incomplete JP version from pirated 'flight sim game compilation' disk, then the international. I felt the international release was a giga downgrade from JP because they cut down too many things. Then I found the JP ISO over the internet. It was a pleasure.
No other entry in the Ace Combat series can even compete with the depth of the story and characters in Ace Combat 3. Just the conflict between Rena and Erich on the topic of "what would you do to keep the wings" feels more significant than many main storylines. That's why it irritates me to no end when people unironically say that "Mobeus 1 is the best character in the series."
A game that abbreviates to AC that involves mega corporations controlling the world that came out on the ps1… I can’t believe they made an ace combat and armored core crossover and nobody told me
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of this type of reviews/commentary. Because you spend 70% of the video retelling the entire game story in a shorter version but still spoiling every big and emotional moments. Wich is useless for those who played it and a major spoiler for those who did not. And kind of lazy to, cause 70% of your work is just a resume of the game story. The true commentary and analysis is only 10 min maybe at maximum. I would rather listen to a deeper analysis of gameplay cool mission, the story and themes, you emotion etc etc. So i would advise for a deeper analysis or a shorter video.
Thank you for the honest feedback. I 100% agree with your points and conclusion. As a matter of fact the AC6 video I have coming out is going to be much shorter and to the point, touching on the story, but not spoiling it.

@@nicolasillarnizzi Appreciate the kind words! so I played the International release having NO idea that there was a Japanese version that was completely different and frankly I am SUPER annoyed that there was a so much cooler version of this game out there. While I still enjoyed my time with 3. (specially the cool sci fi ships) I have to admit the story never gripped me and I enjoyed AC2 so much more in that regard. Will say though it was interesting to see the parallels between the international and the Japanese version. and how DIFFERENT the context and story was.
I can't recommend you try out AC2 enough, because it really feels like a predecessor to the ps2 games down to control, level design, enemy ai and all. I really love 3 but at points it feels it little bit more style over substance, like the game looks and sounds better than how the actual gameplay is.
My coverage of 7 will be up soon, than I plan on going back and playing 1, 2, and some of the other titles. I've seen a little of 2 and I was very impressed with what I saw, looks fantastic.
I definitely struggled with the pronounciation, maybe im just a big fan of the mustard LOL Regarding AC8, I really have no idea the direction they'll go, we very well may get something that returns to an earlier time period in the series.
I had read that about the animators and yes, it's 100% fitting!
it kills me the US release is so gutted I hope one day a remaster is done for us restoreing the game to its natural state
Ace Combat 3 was waaaay ahead of its time.
I haven’t played 3 yet anyway Either Versions;
But Knowing that 3 Started the Detailed Flight Physics Has me Rooting for it !
Oh yeah and the fact that It’s Supposedly set In Far Future being the Latest Lore Wise (basically end of Ace Combat Lore/Nothing beyond it)
To Going Backwards Or Reseting Even Rebooting the So called Story with Ace04 which is Just Ace2 but WAY more fancy ?
I had the pleasure to play both versions (there is even a third version, european, wich showed some story through text) and one of the main differences I've found from version to version was the difficulty, hard in the us version was compared to normal in the japanese version, another interesting thing that the game shows and I think it is important to say about the story is that all crafts are controlled by mind (the image on 15:40 is not just for the night raven) and even in one of the missions you are facing an virus wich every time you pass on it's influence zone you starts to black out and receive damaged due to virus hacking into you
Great video, I really hope you blow up man. Also man, poor Dision. That story is rough.
Appreciate it! There's more coming down the pipe, so stay tuned.
AC3 at the end you found out you are just a program AI ,,Nemo,,
In the end you were the fake and digital one in that reality
@@elrinconcuriosodesally3528 In the end you were released into the real world.
AC3 is the best Ace Combat game. Nothing comes close. Even its story thematically is way more significant than most of other games
4:35 "than even the latest games in the series" dude the flight model was on the decline since AC3.
It's really an amazing game, that I never had the chance to play, but still I'm glad people are talking about it
Playeyd International release in my childhood (6-8 y/o).
@@JarboeGamingspeaking of Mecha games, Evangelion also has some games that could be fun

Just found your channel and I love the Ace Combat vids! I hope you make one for Zero it'smy personal favorite!
It will be coming, don't worry!
I never played ace combat games outside of 7 and assault horizon (which I don’t think might have been the best introduction to the series) but after 7 I really wanted to know more about the series and so far your videos have been the best about this, also wish you would do a video about ace combat zero
That will be the next Ace Combat I cover!
@@JarboeGaming great, your videos have great production value and I’m looking forward to it
I picked up the Japanese version in San Francisco's Japan Town in the early 2000s.
Yeah the versions really don't compare, it's a damn shame
One of my first PS1 games when I was a kid. I had the international version and I was like 8 so I had no idea what was going on. I would love to see a remake. They aren't known for doing that though. However, the story of 7 kind of hinted that it's getting close to this time.
Ok, who the hell let Hideo Kojima in?
Why you gotta rub it in that I was playing spyro nearly 30 years ago? LOL
😂😂 It makes me feel old too
Hidden treasures in retro gaming 🎉
Just a quick note about Simon, he and Yoko are partners of Dr. Schroeder from AC7 under the development of the AI system for the ADF program.
Oh wow, so Dision is basically Klaus Schwab and Ouroboros is the World Economic Forum.
Gotcha.
This was my first ace combat and i love it till today
ACEd this video, love your stuff!
I see what you did there 🛩
it seems like armored core with planes
Must be because of graphics and the new sci-fi planes.
This was my first foray into Ace Combat and I never knew we got such a dumbed down version in the west. I'm going to have to check out this translation. I loved this game so much growing up, it's wild that the 'real' game was even better all along!
I remember emulating the Japanese version of AC3 on my phone(The Project Nemo one), I played a few missions before I dropped the game due to device issues along with the glitchy audio
I plan on emulating the game again when I get a PC along with Emulating the Holy trinity of Ace Combat games
I love this game's visuals, audio design, story, setting. Absolutely everything.
Definitely check out the Playstation 2 titles next.
I'd recommend to play them in release order, so 4, 5, then Zero. Incredible games!
@@JarboeGaming
I've had my eyes on the ps2 trilogy.
Though i want to play Ace Combat 2 because i like the ps1 graphics x'D
I actually found out that i have Ace Combat 5 in my collection.
The flight model is actually a bit more realistic than more recent entries, AOA (angle of attack) is much more prominent!
I'll have to check out the Project Nemo translation!
I found the Load Word Teams translation better in every way. Project Nemo’s Translation felt in incomplete at times.
Although if they ever make a direct sequel, I would imagine Simon plan just immediately fall apart for either Nemo fighting each other or a mute human pilot destroys everything.
and to think Jaeger had his son voiced by Kira Yamato in this game is just bizzaro
The answer is simple, Story and Anime scene by Oshii Mamoru with Production i.G.
ac3 japanese is very good, your explaination is very good too. Thanks
Ace Combat 3 broke me when i played it, especially the Electrosphere ending
it got me stuck in a trance where i kept putting my actions into question yet my fingers were moving on their own to shoot down Dision
i know, it sounds stupid, but my mind and my body got separated at that moment . . . even though i was questioning the mission, my body became mindless wings that only fly for destruction, like Rena and her Night Raven
no other game has EVER made me feel this way
my first Ace Combat was X on the PSP, so it's got a special place in my heart
but 3? it's on a whole other level, it's own plane of existence even
the feelings i have for this game are near impossible to describe to be honest, but one thing is for sure; Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere is the game that affected me the most on the emotional level, a true game to be remembered
lots of people in the ACE community wants remakes of the 3 PS2 games, considered the "Golden Age" of Ace Combat
instead i believe Ace Combat 3 would make for the best remake, maybe even a sequel in a few years, when AC3 will be well forgotten, like Simon said "forget everything you saw here", i want to see Nemo out there
Nemo means No one/Nobody.
"Does a 1999 Ace Combat game still Hold Up?"
Yes, Japanese version. Namco unfortunately butchered everything that make Electrosphere beautiful in international release.
Also here's a list i have on why Electrosphere hold up.
1.The only Ace Combat that ever goes to space
2.The only Ace Combat that have 52 missions and 5 endings
3.Anime cutscenes, FMV's
4.Chance to defect, choose your own fate thingy.
5.Airborne Carrier boys, our own airborne carrier.. UI-4053 Sphyrna
6.Well, shocking ending i guess. Finish all 5 routes and well you'll have Simon informed you that we're not real.
7.Database feature, strong world building
8.Most amount of female pilots (Fiona, Rena, Cynthia)
9.Complex Villain (Dision, Park, Nascimento) or almost no true Villain...except maybe Park
100% agree!
Ace Combat 3 was my first ace combat
I love how in AC3 there is inertia! you can do high AoA flying and it feels way more satisfiying than in AC7 that feels like the plane is on rails... To be honest since i play War THunder i cant do with unrealistic physics, breaks my immersion lol
I played both releases. First, the incomplete JP version from pirated 'flight sim game compilation' disk, then the international.
I felt the international release was a giga downgrade from JP because they cut down too many things.
Then I found the JP ISO over the internet. It was a pleasure.
I own japanse copy of ace combat 3 and i like desing of case and things. Is my childhood game but as child i played international
My intro was 3
Just last year I ran the Japanese version with the patch
i was expecting to fly planes and have another belkan conspiracy
turns out i was playing evangelion
A game that abbreviates to AC that involves mega corporations controlling the world that came out on the ps1… I can’t believe they made an ace combat and armored core crossover and nobody told me
which emulator were you using? the image clarity on this looks so crip and clean and the ps1 jittering effect is so minimal.
the best ending is the UPEO ending

Music is definitely key, it's something that was missing fron a lot of my earlier content, but over the past couple of videos I think I've started to dial it in.
ESPECIALLY with AC7, that game's soundtrack was so good I felt it a sin to not show it off.
so this is the game that what made nier the way it is how interesting
so I played the International release having NO idea that there was a Japanese version that was completely different and frankly I am SUPER annoyed that there was a so much cooler version of this game out there.
Good game
I can't recommend you try out AC2 enough, because it really feels like a predecessor to the ps2 games down to control, level design, enemy ai and all. I really love 3 but at points it feels it little bit more style over substance, like the game looks and sounds better than how the actual gameplay is.
My coverage of 7 will be up soon, than I plan on going back and playing 1, 2, and some of the other titles.
I've seen a little of 2 and I was very impressed with what I saw, looks fantastic.
Why do you keep calling him Dijon?
I definitely struggled with the pronounciation, maybe im just a big fan of the mustard LOL
Regarding AC8, I really have no idea the direction they'll go, we very well may get something that returns to an earlier time period in the series. Don't think we'll get it for at least a couple more years though.
