I'm not an aeroplane person as such but I can appreciate the engineering and the superb workmanship I'm seeing in this awesome build. However, the thing I appreciate more than anything, is the humility shown by all involved - so refreshing when compared to many other TH-cam creators. I look forward to future updates.
Hey Thanks Sara! Great video as usual! Please keep us updated on this plane. My buddy has a Broussard and I’m sure we both will be interested to see the completed plane. I always thought a Broussard with a PT6A on it would be cool, so this is close to that.
Hello, You maybe feel what I felt as a kid, when I saw my first "Broussard" during a show in the Air base of my region... For sure, the engine you've decided to place on will change the so rich sound from the original, that I've always in my ears, but, I've to admit that if this kind of turbine, or something like this one, was available at the time the "Broussard" was produced, that would be probably the intial choice. I'm very pleased to see your illuminated face when you talk about this incedible plane ! I'll be on alert to see the rest of your challenge ! Cheers from France
Not sure if your the one or not, but I watched a stearmen in the 90 with the same setup and was relly impressed. I flew t6 for the 6 of diamond in the 70 thru 90ies, and after a while all airshow become the same. But this one I still remember 30 years later...
Thanks so much to everyone involved for sharing your project! It is very interesting, and very well done!! The Garrett looks smaller and lighter than a TP6. Can't wait to see it run and fly! Congrats on a very cool project!! 8) --gary
Oh i really do like this idea!shoud be infinitely versatile might be a similar story to the beaver if done right as i believe thetes still airframes around
That's some real tech. innovation, superb video. ELT sends to satellite via the 406 signal and triggers an S&R to NOAA. No more 125mhz vhf. That's why the helpers from FAA show up. That S&R happens to much.
Wow, great build! That engine mount is substantially larger than the one I did. I a chromoly one to put a 3 cylinder Pontiac Firefly engine from a car into an Ultralight.
You are going to love flying the Garrett, it kind of spoils you going back to anything else! That's the exact engine we had in the Metroliner. Kinda loud though.....
I got a ride once in Dean Wilson's single engine high wing "camper." IO 540 powered, (can't recall what he called it) big enough to walk around in flight. This is almost on that scale.
Great project, but beware the Broussard is known to have to be centered rear for the landing, either with a mass or a personnel, then with a propulsion very slight compared to the radial engine, it will be necessary to be careful for this subject . In france we know well this problem .
Is there another way to get out of that airplane? That sliding door seems vulnerable to getting jammed shut in the case of a "hard landing" where the door frame could become misshapen. If flying single pilot it would be difficult to pre-release it in an emergency situation.
Great post I hope you have a couple of follow ups of this build to post in the future. And would be great to have some footage of the maiden fight and testing process, I not asking for much LOL 🙂
Seems like a waste of a classic aircraft but, if he was going to try and get any practicality out of it, he should be looking into the turbine mod they do to some of the DHC2 Beavers, where they take the front of the fuse from the cockpit forward, and move the whole lot forward one seat row. The motor doesn't end up on long spindly mounts, the pilot's now out front with better visibility, and you've got an extra seat row (three more pax on the CofG), win/win I'd say.

I had a great time learning about Dell’s new build. I will definitely be posting another update video about this in the future ☺️

Hey Sara, cool looking airplane, was this shot before HSF this year or have they pulled the engine since?
Can't wait!!!
Awesome 👍❤
The video was shot after HSF.
We need to see a lot more of this project!
More to come! -Sara
Sweet build!! Thanks for sharing Sara.
This was so awesome guys! Sara, maybe a new series for the channel?! Would love to see projects like this and follow them to completion and beyond!
Thanks JP! That’s a good idea! ☺️ -Sara
This is an amazing build! Please keep videos of this aircraft coming. Would love to see it fly
This was great! Looking forward to seeing this thing in the air!
Thank you so much Steve and Sara for bringing Dells project to light for all of us to see totally awesome.
You’re welcome! Thanks for the nice comment. -Sara
What a great build! Thanks for posting this Sara, it's very interesting.

Such a amazing build! I have enjoyed your other creations in person several times, and am looking forward to seeing this one take flight.

As long as you don't have to touch it, it is also the superior power plant.
This is high end! What an epic project
Wow! Thank you for sharing your work. Very inspiring
What an awesome build. Inspirational.
Nice build! ⭐️ I used to know a Broussard here in Switzerland and flew with it.
It alwas reminds me of the mighty Lysander somehow.
Definitely want to see this updated all the way to flying!
This is so rad, I'd love to work on films like this.
Oh i really do like this idea!shoud be infinitely versatile might be a similar story to the beaver if done right as i believe thetes still airframes around
That was awesome. Thanks Steve!
That is crazy cool! Looking forward to seeing this in action!
That is crazy cool I cannot wait to see this thing in the air!
Looks like Dell has some excellent plane building skills,.. good company to keep Steve..... I'll bet it too will be a show focal point.🤔
How very cool. Thank you.

Very Cool. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching
Another great video, Sara. Thanks for sharing.
I can wait to see the final product.
You’re the man Steve! Definitely need you to come back to CAP some time. Some cool stories you were sharing
The duck-tape patch on the back of the shirt is a sure sign of where his money isn't going! Great project, please keep us updated!
Awesome project. Looking forward to see you flying the french beast 😀 Regards from Pilatus Porter land... ✈ BTW: Your "Portair" could be the next PC-6
When you make substantial alterations to a certified plane does it remain certified or does it become experimental?
Didnt know he was the Yak guy. I saw him at Travis AFB when i was little so cool
Great video of a great build
Keep us posted . Looks like an interesting build for sure........And no Steve , you don't get to put that Engine in the Yee Haw !!!
I would really like to see more on this build.
This is going to be an incredible plane
interesting concept
Incredible! It is amazing what you do with time and money.
Wow, great build! That engine mount is substantially larger than the one I did. I a chromoly one to put a 3 cylinder Pontiac Firefly engine from a car into an Ultralight.
Can't wait to see this at KMAN!!!!!
That thing is awesome. It’s like a Pilatus PC-6 Porter little brother. I want one 👍👍
I doubt that it is smaller.
Some nice 35’s will give some more clearance. I’m sure those are on the list
You are going to love flying the Garrett, it kind of spoils you going back to anything else! That's the exact engine we had in the Metroliner. Kinda loud though.....
Just WOW !!!! ❤❤👍👍
I strive to be like you one day Steve!! I WILL buy a highlander from you. Mark my words!!!
Spectacular build Dell. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!
They’re there to help, awesome.
🙃
Very cool build. Thank you for the video.
This is high value content ♠️
I got a ride once in Dean Wilson's single engine high wing "camper." IO 540 powered, (can't recall what he called it) big enough to walk around in flight. This is almost on that scale.
So awesome! Thanks
The humble Patey ;)
We have another Mike Patey on our hands here. Does he have a TH-cam channel for his builds? I would definitely subscribe.
You're using Hiwin linear guide rails for the door :-) its all about precision there.
we have the jet Waco parts in our shop as we speak getting cover.
That is on The High Side of Kool..... onward...... Carry On.... !!
@ 9:40 angle of atc. where do I get one?
The only STOL School Bus in existence.
Unreal
Excellent stuff bro
Reminds me of the Pilatus Porter.... Should be a nice jump plane. But prolly to expensive for most drop zones to purchase.
Awesome build
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Great project, but beware the Broussard is known to have to be centered rear for the landing, either with a mass or a personnel, then with a propulsion very slight compared to the radial engine, it will be necessary to be careful for this subject . In france we know well this problem .
Wow
Great job Dell
Taking it North?
Ha, before I opened this I said to my self that a Broussard is already a huge bush plane! Then I opened the video and guess what…….French Beaver!
It looks like it has flown 4 flights in November 2024, as N1050H. Any recordings of the flights?
Haha, I used to work for MB Quart 👍
Ive seen that aircraft type flown in Morocco years ago, a good airframe, where in the world did you find it,
It was in pieces when he found it. He has put it back together. He owns 2 Broussards!
What CAD software do you use?
Witch CAD software are you using pls ?
Be careful and remember to attach the locking mechanism on the door, Boeing has recently discovered that they can come loose if not fastened in place.
Way to go Dell!
What model 3d scanner is that??
wow.
S & S please bring us back when she flys and is fitted out etc. - thanks for the eye opener!
Was the third vertical based on actual engineering or just experience?
You need to have means to counter the increased P-factor.
Is there another way to get out of that airplane? That sliding door seems vulnerable to getting jammed shut in the case of a "hard landing" where the door frame could become misshapen. If flying single pilot it would be difficult to pre-release it in an emergency situation.
Ambitious!
Yeah, Dell dreams big! -Sara
Great post I hope you have a couple of follow ups of this build to post in the future. And would be great to have some footage of the maiden fight and testing process, I not asking for much LOL 🙂
Also if you have a choice go with the McCauley prop over the Dowty, too many reasons to list.
Mike would build it in six months alone
Incredible improvement in the powerplant. It loses its original airworthiness slips. How’s it going to be registered now.?
Experimental -Sara
Monstre de la brousse.
Updates?
GOOD LUCK DELL, LOOKS GREAT / LET'S GO TO WORK AS THE MAN SAYS...
Does Dell have a channel on this build?
He doesn’t, but we hope to cover more of his build on this channel
Awesome, looking forward to this interesting build. Love your teams videos as well.@@SteveHenry
Mike Patey detects a disturbance in the Force. Strong it is with this one!
Wow! Be careful, you’re going to make Patey jealous. This might be even cooler than Draco.
Nothing is going to be cooler than Draco.
any updates on this build?
It’s close to flying. We are hoping to make another update soon. -Sara
Garret is a time bomb. lol
Seems like a waste of a classic aircraft but, if he was going to try and get any practicality out of it, he should be looking into the turbine mod they do to some of the DHC2 Beavers, where they take the front of the fuse from the cockpit forward, and move the whole lot forward one seat row. Id love to see and help. Mmm id get some serious power out of a built engine for ya .
Draco will have a competiter once draco 2.0 is built.
Nice work !
But I don't like the rails (doors) in that situation. They are for mechanic, not airplane.
Or loading your dirt bikes and flying somewhere fun to ride 😊
cool factor = 100%
Only the very coolest thing, ever....
A rival to Draco.
☺️
hes watchn this🤣
Why didn’t you buy a pilatus porter?
