This is a transcendent performance... I've known all three of these musicians in different ways - newer to Corey - but this is pure genius and music of the absolute highest order. This performance belongs in the Smithsonian. @LarryRulz thank you for posting - for those of you fortunate to be there you saw something very, very rare and special. Cheers!
Thanks for posting this. This show was so incredible! First time seeing Chris Thile and man he's one of the best mandolin players I've ever seen. Billy was his usual amazing self. And Cory Henry is like this generations Stevie Wonder. Really special show!
Cory is a brilliant musician, but you should look up Stevie and see what he had accomplished by Cory's age. He is one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. comparisons like these are not a fair assessment of either musician
@@kellmerWF52 I know all about Stevie Wonder and how young he was when he first hit it big. As well as how great he was on drums etc. I'm not comparing them. Stevie is a living legend and each time I've seen him 5-6x times it was by far one of the best shows you could ever be at. If I had to pick who puts on the best concert Stevie would easily be in my top 5 bands to see. Putting Cory in the same breath as Stevie isn't meant to say he's at Stevie's level. It's meant to put him into context at how great he is.
He's incredible! How have I never heard of him? And I wondered if a major factor in the unbelievable mandolin magic here is that it's miked; not a single wire not even monitors. (?) @@danielberry9610
You can make a strong case that Thile is possibly the best mandolin player ever. I’ve never heard anyone as good as he is at improv. He is also perhaps one of the best all around musician alive today.
You guys are my idols I play guitar and mandolin, with a lean towards mandolin as my strong connection. You guys are the pinicale of both of my favorite instruments.
Love you forever, these shows restore my faith and inspiration. They raise up my spirit! Thank you I Am Grateful Larry! I Am in awe of this music...just...awe inspired. 🌼🌼
I was hoping Thile would play a Bach tune before the Guests came out. This room would sound so good playing that. Saw him do it once at a Punch Brothers show. All I can saw is the room was dead quiet and you could tell the musicians in the crown knew they were hearing something special. he’s the best I have heard in my 67 years and I’m not dissing any of the great mando players in any way. Thile has a very special gift you only see one in a lifetime.
Just got through Molly n Tenbrooks... man, I dunno if Sam Bush got wind of this performance, hope he did, n I can just imagine Sam dancing around his living room listenin and grinnin ear to ear like a proud ol granpa! Just about making me weep with joy, this whole performance...

I wish they’d cut an album and tour together. I would be VERY happy.
We would all be VERY happy haha
Cory on a Steinway, you can't go wrong with that (and he can sing too)...
Chris and Billy were awesome.
That was powerful!

One of the things you can’t deny is they look like they are so happy playing this bluegrass set.
The third track list with all 3 is special. WOW. thank you all, wonderful inspiration.
Thanks for this. Where's the petition for a full SBD release of this show????! ;)

Thank you so much! Appreciate it more than I can say. What a treasure.
1:57:47 I love that little lick Billy throws in there with a grin.

AMEN
This Molly and Tenbrooks is insane.
That may be the sickest version I’ve ever heard of that one
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ tooo gooood
Anyone know what mic is being used for Thile's mandolin?
can anyone say what Chris said about that shoe off?
That solo in moonshiner
Billy is the best I have ever heard playing the guitar and I was a kid when Jimi was around.
So much audience noise.
Great music for sure but too bad about the camera angle
Sussy
whatever
