6:20 Reconnecting the fat ribbon cable is by far the most difficult part of this upgrade. Wish there was more details regarding that. Still a very useful video overall. Thanks for sharing!
You have 5V in the SATA connector only when the laptop is on. Ok, it's a good idea to disconnect the battery, but in this case I don't see how you can damage the motherboard. I've done this over 400-500 times and I didn't damage one motherboard.
Can you add a larger capacity ssd? Do you know the limit bios will support? Also - since bios is a drive partition did you have to copy the orginall partitions or any other special procedures to the SSD before it would work? Thanks for the video. Hollister
Of course you can add a larger capacity SSD. This laptop I believe it had a 1TB HDD, so it will definitely support a 1TB SSD. I don't know the limit, but I'm sure it will support 1TB SSD. Also, bios IS NOT a drive partition. BIOS is written on a ROM memory (a chip on the motherboard), so you don't have to do anything. You just have to install Windows. Create a Windows instalation drive with Media Creation Tool and install it on the new SSD.

Hello, could you help me with the SSD memory model you installed? Thank
This one was a Kingston A400 240GB, but you can install any brand you like, as long as it's SATA port.
Why does the DVD look like that?
It's just a plastic dummy. This laptop doesn't have DVD. I've seen a lot of models like this.

My laptop hdd is 500 GB, same model. Can I upgrade it to 1TB Ssd?
Yes you can
Why not just a simple panel for ssd, hate ribbon cables :)
Yeah, me too:))
Ram of my pc is 1gb ..is it possible to upgrade RAM if yes then what is the maximum limit for this ... please reply
It's possible of course, but I don't have time to search for the maximum limit (probably 32GB). I recommend 4GB or 8GB depending on the budget.
@@mihailelea thank you
is ssd sata 3 /2.5 will work for me i have the same acer sir
Yes, it will work.
@@mihailelea thank you sir
It's a ddr3 or ddr3L ? Can support 1600mhz?
I really don't remember. I did this 2 years ago for a client and I can't remember. Sorry.

and yes supports 1600mhz
What is the maximum ram it can supports?
I believe 8GB

Whqt model of ssd you used
This was a cheap Kingston A400 240GB. If you can afford it, I recommend Samsung EVO.
