I just watched a video where Bernie discussed the shutdown--that Dems avoided. He said that king Musk threatened not only Rethuglicons but Democrats. Musk scolded Dems, saying if they didn't vote the way Musk wanted, he would throw big corrupted $$$$ at their opposition next election. WTF. Citizens United reversed and an expanded SCOTUS is what we desperately need.
I'm from FL and have always paid attention to politics since I was in high school. I was a republican early on but quickly realized my strong stance with human rights conflicted with that party. So, I'm also a former republican who happily joined the democratic party.
Groups like ACLU are sooo important in the next 4 years. You know, king musk is going to try to label that organization "a terrorist group," and reverse non-taxable status to try to ruin them. We need to support them now.
I absolutely support what you say as it is the only thing that I have heard so far that is not screaming at me or shedding tears of impending doom. You make logical and easy suggestions in how to fight for our liberties and freedoms against such a massive beast called the GOP. As with all massive beasts the ability to turn on a dime is greatly diminished by size. But we, as citizens are in essence, small and agile and therefore can change tactics at a drop of a hat. Any way, keep making those suggestions as you at least have given me ideas on how to move forward and engage others to move with us.
Vic, my guess is that you are aware. But, others on here probably aren't. Due to your encouragement to get involved, in many different ways, I reached out to our Colorado Senators and Chuck Schumer's office (first time that I have contacted my reps) to get the Social Security Fairness Act through. Apparently, many many people contacted their state reps and it passed last night. Just an example of how we can get congress to get work completed when enough people get involved. The fact that the "R's' supported this in big numbers as well, is a sign that people are putting pressure on their representatives to do something about the SS system, now! The more people registered as democrat will send a strong message to the republicans and that is what is needed. the midterms are going to be very important in 2026.
Vic, I have been registered as a Republican, a Democrat, and Independent at different stages of my life. Truth be told, I am a centrist through and through. Too far right to be a progressive Democrat, way too liberal to be a Republican, and not fitting in totally with either of those ideologies. I switched my allegiance to Democrat to help Obama obtain the nomination in the primaries and left the Republican party because of the lack of desirable candidates back before George HW. I am now independent, but if I see a really viable candidate who looks like they might need help getting the party endorsement in a primary, I am willing to switch again (either direction). That said, I think as an independent voter, I can let the Repubs know that they are losing voters like me due to their current MAGAish policies and platforms. There is a value to a third party, and I wish a third-party option was more recognized and valuable. Example: Take the race between Trump and Clinton. There were a few third-party candidates, but the only one to get a little recognition was Gary Johnson. I could not vote Clinton because of some of her previous actions, and there was no way I was going to vote for a buffoon such as Trump. I am from NM so I did know a bit about Johnson as governor and was mostly satisfied under his watch as governor. My point is that sometimes we need a third option, and I believe that a third option could be viable if people would stop thinking it has to be only option A or option B. This past election I did vote mostly Democratic as I refuse to vote for a Trump advocate/supporter. In the future, who knows. I could see myself voting for Cheney, Kinzinger or Steele, but I could also see myself voting for Jeffries, O'Rourke or Allred.
What usually happens in a close race is voting for a third party candidate , with no clear chance to win, pulls votes one way or the other between the two major parties. Historically, the next election cycle sees both parties adopt some form of the 3rd’s policies to weaken it and appeal to voters to come back to one of the major parties. Progressive party is one example. It faded out when some of their reform ideas as well as their candidate were absorbed. Maybe some ideas are just in need of “percolating” . I consider myself a life long moderate , pushed out of the Democratic Party in the early 90s and pulled back with the second Obama administration and horrified by magaDump and the threat to democracy.
@@cindycooper9232 I am not ignorant. I know what the pundits say about third party candidates. However, there have been times when I did not feel like voting for the lesser of two evils, or sitting an election out. This time I voted for Harris, last time I voted for Biden just because anything was better than Trump. I would like to see another major party that more represents the view of those in the middle who have some conservative and some liberal values. Other democratic societies have been able to utilize a 3 party system. We should be able to also, and maybe better represent those who feel like neither candidate is right for them. I was like that in 2016. Did not like either one so I voted 3rd party. My choice took more from Trump than he did Clinton.

Thanks Vic, I look forward to your daily discussion of what we can do to try to protect ourselves and our country from the incoming administration which even before they take office, they are already disrupting our country's governance.
I never heard a politician speak my truth except Bernie. I got involved in Democratic Party Caucuses in Minnesota because there has never been a choice if you believe in protecting the worker and the potential victims of industrial excess from the greed of Oligarchs. I have always been a fringe member, in fact Republicans thinkers have been in the party for the past 40 years I’ve been involved. Only recently my positions have been supported by more than myself.
As a member of the Democrat party, I have to say if more people HAD come off the side line sooner, perhaps we would have won. If you did nothing, you should really don't have the right to complain now!!!
Thanks Vic. Got in touch, at your suggestion, with the NJ DNC state chair. Spoke at great length w him regarding the vote for national dnc chair. Saw Ben Wikler on the Daily and was impressed. The Dems need to start using that data that has all our numbers( they used for asking for money during the election) to reach out and tell us when the local Dem meetings are. It’s like a secret. If we want to galvanize, we must organize.
I'm sticking with independent, it's where I've been since I left R's in '06. Been voting D since '08. Independents are a registered bloc almost as large as either R or D. I'm happy to dangle enough hope to make 'em spend money on a candidate I'll never vote for, esp in a deep red state.
A few weeks ago while scrolling you tube looking for new anti trump messaging I saw one of yours and continued scrolling and then thought what was that, backing up there was the Spanish Peaks in your background, living at the foot of these mountains we are lucky to wake up and see them every day, so anyway we subscribed ,enjoy all you have to say and appreciate what you do keep it up we'll survive !!
And, for the short version of my former post... What is our current political situation and system showing us about who we really are? We always have the choice to change it if we don't like what it is reflecting.
Reach out to local democrats and go to meetings. I live in a blood red county and we still have about 2k democrats that meet here like once a month. Our meetings only consist of about 100 of those 2k but my idea is that we can get all 2k involved and maybe more
Another thing I liked that you promoted was writing to state democrats and tell them to step it up. I’ve written to the DNC chair of Indiana and told them to work with the top democrats here.
There is a simple and easy solution to the long-term problem: VOTE BLUE in 2026! In the short term, do like Vic says and find your local Dem. party office and drop in and say Hi, support as you can and to your ability to the orgs. he suggests and hunker down and ride out the next two years. Buckle up Buttercup BC it's going to be a wild ride.
TY, Vic. My daily YT video consumption includes yours along with a number of other "fight the right," videos/channels & I'm so glad you bought this up. I have lots of problems with Democrats, my own 2 Dem senators are going to the right & barely scrap by in their elections. It's made me want to become an Independent, but in my state, NV, primaries are closed. If you want to vote in the primaries, you have to choose up sides. For decades now, Dems have been hemorrhaging new voter registrations, while fascists have gained. The reichwing is so extreme, Democrat is where I'll stay because I just refuse fascism. Hopefully we can attract more progressives, forward moving younger ppl to JOIN the party and take over the stale establishment types that have taken us down. It takes billions of $$$$ to start a 3rd party and we are too busy now fighting the reichwing. We need to unite and stayed focus to kick the fascists to the curb. 2026 and beyond. Reminder, 2025 will also have smaller but important elections within our own states--we need to vote every chance we get. +85 MILLION didn't as they should have. We can't let that happen again.
Dems STILL have a progressive caucus,a group of fighters that currently are in the minority. How about you trying to help correct this so we have more fighters FOR The People?? You have problems with Katie Porter, Eric Swalwell, Jasmine Crockett, or any of the Dems that tried to impeach Dump?? We have only a 2 party system. That's it. To start another party, you need billions of $$$ or you could change the party by the quality of the ppl you vote to put into it. Or you can complain and watch the horror that will visit your life and just do nothing. But understand, that's exactly how +85 MILLION got us into this nightmare. You either want to be a good citizen and work to that end or you don't.
We the people will not tolerate this. Percent voted for Trump (49.9%) and Percent voted for Harris (48.4%) that's only 1.5 percent. He's already losing people who voted for him. It will not last. Merry Christmas!
That channel clone stuff is happening to almost every channel I watch on TH-cam, too. Scammers hoping people arent paying attention because they use the channel logo. The scam channel name is usually very similar but not exactly the same.
I disagree with Vic because both parties have failed and have too much bad baggage. 90% of existing politicians should be voted out, they have been in the rut for over 60 years. We need new educated in labor and business candidates. We need 100% focus and votes on every line item issue.
As a member of the Democratic party that spent hours and hours of my time campaign for Harris, I will be unsubscribing from the channel. No time for MAGA or the other people who disrespect.

Thank you.
I'm sticking with independent, it's where I've been since I left R's in '06. Been voting D since '08. Independents are a registered bloc almost as large as either R or D. I'm happy to dangle enough hope to make 'em spend money on a candidate I'll never vote for, esp in a deep red state.
Hey Vic.
We’ll said, Vic!
And, for the short version of my former post...
What is our current political situation and system showing us about who we really are? We always have the choice to change it if we don't like what it is reflecting.
Reach out to local democrats and go to meetings. I live in a blood red county and we still have about 2k democrats that meet here like once a month. Our meetings only consist of about 100 of those 2k but my idea is that we can get all 2k involved and maybe more
Resistance ⬛️!!!
👍🏾🔥👍🏾
Thanks a bunch. BTW: been way too long since I’ve seen cholla cactus😢.
💙
How does someone “kick out the oligarchs” when they own both republican & democrat, plus paid judges, including the Supreme Court?
What would Gandhi do ?
There's that plant from hell in the background again.
They aren't perfect but they are a hell of a lot better than Republicans. Run for office yourself.
Vic please don’t lean back against that cholla cactus. Mean needles as you no doubt know. Just makes me nervous you being so close and all
As a member of the Democratic party that spent hours and hours of my time campaign for Harris, I will be unsubscribing from the channel. No time for MAGA or the other people who disrespect.

Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

Joining the democratic party is NOT the answer. Have you read the Bible? Specifically the story about Samuel, when he was about to die and the people demanded a king and shunned God as their king?!?! They have been around this long and we are still divided as a country and nation, because a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. Follow Christ!! Get in God's good graces! Repent!! Make righteous judgements! Judge not by appearance. Help the poor! the widows! the homeless! and the fatherless! Love one another. Jesus is the only way.
