    Can’t even believe I used to be a conservative republican. My main reason was small government. After I witnessed the outright racism in the party when Obama was elected, I changed parties and haven’t looked back. Yes, join the democratic party and work together to make it what it once was. An advocate for the middle class and humanitarian values for the poor. Above all else, freedom. No matter what your stance is on abortion, women are dying because they lost their rights to reproductive medical care. Join, fight. Get lobbyists out of government and put the power back in the hands of We the People

      It's just that the D isn't clearly anti-compassion. And that the R is clearly in this camp and that's what resonates with most Americans. Very sad to me because we used to at least pay lip service to an orientation of compassion. I mean we had a concept of a plan for it.

      @@dennisschott2352 I am oft reminded of this part of Charlie Chaplins final speech in his film The Great Dictator which feels very relevant these days:
      "Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost…"from Scotland Nollaig Chridheil agus Bliadhna Mhath Ùr". 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I have made a commitment for the next two years I will not spend any money that I don't have to for example no new vehicles, clothing, appliances, vacations, tractors, lawn mowers, boycott soda, and you may not want to hear this but do boycott anything that supports Trump,Musk, or any of the Billionaires that are trying to turn America into an oligarchy. I think that the main problem is a lack of being informed and apathy. Democracy is not a spectator sport. I also think that the political arena has adopted the model sporting teams use, the main objective of winning at all costs. And of course everyone wants to be on the winning team.
    Unfortunately, the political choices we make eventually affect each and every one of us in our daily lives. We need to decide who we are and take back our humanity. Simply put, if you don't want something done to you, don't do it to another.
    One of my favorite books was written by Upton Sinclair, titled The Jungle. Originally published in 1904. If one did not know the publishing date, one would assume he was speaking about current events, not something that occurred 124 years ago.
    This demonstrates that we, as the human race keep repeating the same cycle and patterns and expecting different results - and that is a true definition of insanity.
    Personally, I am just exhausted. The only thing that I have control of is myself. I will strive to treat others how I want to be treated; stay informed on the issues; and vote for the candidate who best represents common decency. Hopefully and collectively we can come up with a better paradigm, because the old one has been recycled throughout history too many times and is no longer working!
    Like it or not, we are all participating in life together - eventually what happens to the least of us is the fate of the whole.

    Vic, I have been registered as a Republican, a Democrat, and Independent at different stages of my life. Truth be told, I am a centrist through and through. Too far right to be a progressive Democrat, way too liberal to be a Republican, and not fitting in totally with either of those ideologies. I switched my allegiance to Democrat to help Obama obtain the nomination in the primaries and left the Republican party because of the lack of desirable candidates back before George HW. I am now independent, but if I see a really viable candidate who looks like they might need help getting the party endorsement in a primary, I am willing to switch again (either direction). That said, I think as an independent voter, I can let the Repubs know that they are losing voters like me due to their current MAGAish policies and platforms. There is a value to a third party, and I wish a third-party option was more recognized and valuable. Example: Take the race between Trump and Clinton. There were a few third-party candidates, but the only one to get a little recognition was Gary Johnson. I could not vote Clinton because of some of her previous actions, and there was no way I was going to vote for a buffoon such as Trump. I am from NM so I did know a bit about Johnson as governor and was mostly satisfied under his watch as governor. My point is that sometimes we need a third option, and I believe that a third option could be viable if people would stop thinking it has to be only option A or option B. This past election I did vote mostly Democratic as I refuse to vote for a Trump advocate/supporter. In the future, who knows. I could see myself voting for Cheney, Kinzinger or Steele, but I could also see myself voting for Jeffries, O'Rourke or Allred.

    • @cindycooper9232
      @cindycooper9232 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What usually happens in a close race is voting for a third party candidate , with no clear chance to win, pulls votes one way or the other between the two major parties. Historically, the next election cycle sees both parties adopt some form of the 3rd’s policies to weaken it and appeal to voters to come back to one of the major parties.
      Progressive party is one example. It faded out when some of their reform ideas as well as their candidate were absorbed.
      Maybe some ideas are just in need of “percolating” .
      I consider myself a life long moderate , pushed out of the Democratic Party in the early 90s and pulled back with the second Obama administration and horrified by magaDump and the threat to democracy.

    • @jomama2757
      @jomama2757 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cindycooper9232 I am not ignorant. I know what the pundits say about third party candidates. However, there have been times when I did not feel like voting for the lesser of two evils, or sitting an election out. This time I voted for Harris, last time I voted for Biden just because anything was better than Trump. I would like to see another major party that more represents the view of those in the middle who have some conservative and some liberal values. Other democratic societies have been able to utilize a 3 party system. We should be able to also, and maybe better represent those who feel like neither candidate is right for them. I was like that in 2016. Did not like either one so I voted 3rd party. My choice took more from Trump than he did Clinton.

    I have lots of problems with Democrats, my own 2 Dem senators are going to the right & barely scrap by in their elections.
    It's made me want to become an Independent, but in my state, NV, primaries are closed. If you want to vote in the primaries, you have to choose up sides.
    For decades now, Dems have been hemorrhaging new voter registrations, while fascists have gained.
    The reichwing is so extreme, Democrat is where I'll stay because I just refuse fascism.
    Hopefully we can attract more progressives, forward moving younger ppl to JOIN the party and take over the stale establishment types that have taken us down.
    It takes billions of $$$$ to start a 3rd party and we are too busy now fighting the reichwing.

      That's it. To start another party, you need billions of $$$ or you could change the party by the quality of the ppl you vote to put into it.
      Or you can complain and watch the horror that will visit your life and just do nothing. But understand, that's exactly how +85 MILLION got us into this nightmare.
      You either want to be a good citizen and work to that end or you don't.

    We the people will not tolerate this. Percent voted for Trump (49.9%) and Percent voted for Harris (48.4%) that's only 1.5 percent. He's already losing people who voted for him. It will not last. Merry Christmas!

    That channel clone stuff is happening to almost every channel I watch on TH-cam, too. Scammers hoping people arent paying attention because they use the channel logo. The scam channel name is usually very similar but not exactly the same.

    I disagree with Vic because both parties have failed and have too much bad baggage. 90% of existing politicians should be voted out, they have been in the rut for over 60 years. We need new educated in labor and business candidates. We need 100% focus and votes on every line item issue.

    As a member of the Democratic party that spent hours and hours of my time campaign for Harris, I will be unsubscribing from the channel. No time for MAGA or the other people who disrespect.

    Joining the democratic party is NOT the answer. Have you read the Bible? Specifically the story about Samuel, when he was about to die and the people demanded a king and shunned God as their king?!?! They have been around this long and we are still divided as a country and nation, because a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. Follow Christ!! Get in God's good graces! Repent!! Make righteous judgements! Judge not by appearance. Help the poor! the widows! the homeless! and the fatherless! Love one another. Jesus is the only way.
