RIAT 2017 | Sunday Air Show Highlights

RIAT 2017 presented an impressive line up of aircraft from no fewer than 27 countries. In this video I present 1hour's worth of the finest action from Sunday the 16th of July 2017. Including the Ukraine Air Forces fine Sukhoi SU-27 Flanker, Airbus A400M & Italia Air Forces C-27J Spartan "Cunning" stunts & more. I hope you enjoy this incredible spectacle.

Great work excellent stuff was there myself on Sunday but had issues with card in camcorder and batteries on other cameras also left early to avoid traffic

What does "tattoo" mean? Weird name for an air show. Absolutely stunning compilation of military planes, my favourite was the Lancaster and Patrouille de France! :)

A tattoo is a military performance of music or display of armed forces in general. The term comes from the early 17th century Dutch phrase doe den tap toe ("turn off the tap"), a signal sounded by drummers or trumpeters to instruct innkeepers near military garrisons to stop serving beer and for soldiers to return to their barracks, and is unrelated to the Tahitian origins of an ink tattoo (Wikipedia)

The Show was Pretty good! But the Weather is a Problem Nowadays. I hope Next Year in 2018 we have Sunshine and Dry Weather. Because the Royal Air Force Celebrate the 100 Anniversary then we need Good Weather conditions. Greetings from Germany. This is the Best Airshow in the World. I Remember in the early Years of the 80,s and the 90,s there was also every year at the Mildenhall Airbase a Big Airshow. The Date was always the last Weekend of May. Name of the Mildenhall Airshow was Air Fete. The last one was in 2001. But the Air Tattoo is the Best.

ElliotL- CBGSpotter Thank you for your Answer! I like this Video. Its a great Memory for this Years Air Tattoo. One Week before the Air Tattoo, I have been at the Yeovilton Air Day. Also a great Airshow. There I've seen the Full Programme (High Show) of the Red Arrows. At the Air Tattoo was the Flat Show from the Red Arrows. Because of the Low Cloudscape. Thunderbirds from the U. S Air Force was also Pretty good. The first Display of the Thunderbirds at Fairford was in 2007. And the First time I've been seen the Thunderbirds in 1997 at the Air Fete at Mildenhall Airbase in Suffolk. 2011 gave the Thunderbirds also a Display at the Waddington Airshow.

Flankers...just love that airplane...its mean and looks ready for business...reminds me of a huge bird of prey awesome....the Russkies certainly know how to build some fine planes.
