Everyone should watch that pre-Time Team show. It’s interesting & great fun seeing Phil & Mick looking so young. Little did they know they would have so much influence on archeology ✌️💚
So excited for new episodes. I’ve been binge watching the older episodes, which are so interesting. The new episodes I have watched did not disappoint.
Very interesting! I again commend Time Team for having Dani Wooten as the host. Dani is a superior presenter and is a great asset from the viewer's perspective!
Just one other comment. I have watched every episode of Time Team. I used to work in Papua New Guinea in the highlands and watch Time Team on videos every night. I brought them with me as at night there wasn't much to do at all. It was dry site so you couldn't have a beer at night...lol
Dani! Great narration! Really good job! For the game makers, creating a game environment using lidar means they get a building for the game space without the labor intensive process of creating it by hand.
One of the things I love about this is that as a gamer who love tabletop RPGs a project like this allows someone living where these building don't exist the opportunity to "go inside" and get a feel for what they really look like in size and layout. Sure, you can look at pictures, but that is no substitute for actually walking around inside.
How amazing that game creation technology has crossed over into history and archaeology. What a powerful tool. Would love to see that in my VR headset.
Yay I’m so happy that TT is back and new, new is new as technology and some of the diggers new ppl mingle with some of our OG gang. All sooo cool. Yay again 🎊🎉
Hey! I saw young Phil and and older Phil, knapping away on some flint. It would be great if he stopped by the new Time Team for a chat and perhaps a pint (with John Gater.)
I imagine they could embed the envoironment into an app that access the game engine in a windows based system, that would show it off best with graphic card quality...we shall see! :)
I suppose the 3-D imaging technology was devised for game makers, but can be used for other purposes. They emphasise the "game" aspect to make it exciting for us kids, though the Time Team audience is probably a different demographic. Maybe estate agents will be able to use it so that we can look around houses on sale without leaving home. I looked up that 14th century farmhouse: there's no visitor parking, so you have to walk 1 kilometre across Dartmoor to get to it from the nearest public car park. Many of us would not do that, so I wonder if they will monetise the video in some way. Another benefit of this technology is that there will be 24 hour access, 365 days a year, with no wear and tear on the house. And if you get bored on your sofa, you can switch to a real game!
@Robyn W - I don't think they mean a video game like Minecraft or some other bloody slasher scenario. I think they mean virtual 3-D exploration of the longhouse built using a game engine. like they mentioned, that you can access from a game console, maybe. I followed the website address they gave in the video - it's the homepage for the intensely gorgeous Dartmoor National Park. I can find Higher Uppacott easily enough, but no mention of a 3-D experience is found. Not completed yet?
One of these farms could possibly be my Heritage, in roughly 1750’s many people decided to try another country Leaving behind famine and sickness behind for a better life.Elizabeth French, Timothy Moon William Overton Maria Collard these are just a few from the early 1700’s Richard Pocock.
That his model will be used in a game is not really that interesting. I just would love to explore it on my own. Will it be available somewhere on a website?
this is going to change history lessons forever. want to see king henry VIII at a banquet stuffing his face, well soon you might just be able to. would it be like an interactive tour or like active game??
I would like links to ''Cottage Core'' and ''Time Signs'' added please :) So excited my favourite show is coming back!!! Time signs epeisode 1 : th-cam.com/video/eykpQ6TNFYs/w-d-xo.html
well, 23 secs in and im incensed that #Plymouth has (once again) been completely left off the map as if it doesnt exist! Despite the actual work being carried out by Univ of Plymouth! very dissapointed @TimeTeamofficial :( By the way Dr Chris Smart at Univ of Exeter has good evidence that the Roman road networks extended well into Cornwall from the date of the invasion so nott sure what point its making? At the very least update the redlines!
No offence intended to the great people and great city of Plymouth for the inadvertent omission (using an existing map from our archive). On the contrary, we're thrilled to have been invited by the University of Plymouth to follow this fascinating project. As for Roman influence in Cornwall, this subject is explored further in our upcoming new episode, premiering soon on this channel.
She is no Tony or Helen, she is more sensationalist trying to make everything exciting. Really not a fan of her being the presenter on these and would prefer to see her just talk about small finds in the actual episodes.
I really think she's just genuinely excited, like any normal person would be to play with these toys. Some people prefer their TV hosts to be more animated, but one of my favourite things about Time Team is seeing all the different types of wonderful people getting excited about archeology.

Time Signs?!
I agree. It was really fun to see our favorite "hippie" archeologists in their debut.
They were the best
Oooh, I'm so excited my fingertips are tingling! Welcome back, Time Team, we've missed you!

"Time Signs" Another show to go search the archives for! Brilliant!

I want to play this game whenever it is finished. I remember life before even calculators. IT is brilliant. I dont understand why people dont like it.
Thanks
Dartmoor for preserving your history
It's so nice to see these people who've worked with Time Team for many years, now much more experienced, but no less enthusiastic!
Dani! Great narration! Really good job!

Hi, I am an old viewer of Time Team and I am a fan. It was fun to se this old house, I haw seen this house before and I love it.

What a fantastic idea! I want this game!

This is lit. Makes me happy to see others getting involved in 3D scanning 🤟
Nice to see pictures of Mick and Phil again!
Mick will b with you in spirit I'm sure of it!!
Enjoyed the video heaps. Thank you.
Fascinating. I want more and I want it now! 😇😲😁

Interesting idea and what a pleasure of a project to work on as a student. Nice video, even though I have to say the editing is a bit stiff at times.
Not a gamer, but I would love to explore this farmhouse in 3D. Will it be available to do that without actually being in a game?
Good question!

This gaming leaves me cold

Praise God ✝️🇺🇲
Why?
Stop referring to it as a game - it's not a game, it's simply using game building software to produce a 3d model that can be explored.

@@TimeTeamOfficial well thank'ee m' lovers!
Nice, but brilliant is the most overused word in English.
SO far SO good.....why does everyone start a sentence with 'so.....'. SO annoying. Otherwise shows promise!

An unfortunately 1980's OU quality presentation of an otherwise interesting subject
