    Hallett Peak stands at 12,713ft above sea level and to reach it, it took 10.7 miles and 3,143ft of elevation gain. This was the longest hike we have done since starting our national park road trip. We saw a Dusky Grouse and Yellow-Bellied Marmots.

    We visited Rocky Mountain National Park in July 2019. Right now we are sheltering in place and using this as a time to catch up on video editing. That said, we hope these adventures can provide some much needed distraction and entertainment in such an uncertain time. Stay safe!

    Very interesting about the branches growing on one side. Couldn't agree more about the importance of starting early at the more popular national parks. Makes it much more enjoyable.

      That's why we always go to the visitor centers - to learn new things like about the tree branches in this case.

    I wish I had my youth back, as well as my health. I would love to climb that mountain and see the beautiful vistas that you were able to see from up there. Once again, great video as always. Stay safe and Happy Trails!

      BTW, I was introduced to y'all after seeing your interview with Mike on RVLifestyles. I am going through your playlists. Loving it. I am in Texas. When we get out of quarantine, I think I will head to Guadalupe National Park. Safe travels.

      @Nancy Baer, Thanks for coming over from Mike's video. :) Depending on when this quarantine ends, summer might be quite hot for Guadalupe Mountains National Park, but fall would be perfect.

    I went up Flattop a couple years back at the end of September. Was already snowing. My friends came up with me to the Emerald Lake overlook. I continued alone and very quickly I was in total white out conditions with crazy high wind. I took some photos and ended up turning back before I lost my way. Hopefully one day I get back to it.

    Just wanted you to know that we only started watching you guys a couple weeks ago, and we've caught up already!!!! Obviously, the reason is that we really like your process and you two are great on camera. You have a very similar approach to the travel that we want to employ. I like that you use the rv to go where you want, as opposed to having it be the focus of your channel. Too many channels are about the rving, not the benefits of using it. Keep it up and we'll keep watching.........on a much more scaled down speed of course. Oh and also, we're loving that you are so far ahead of your videos that we don't have to hear about corona. So sick of hearing about that, your vids are a nice break from all that.

    • @AdventurousWay
      @AdventurousWay  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aww, that's so nice to hear that you have caught up with our older videos! Yup, that's exactly right - RV is just the most practical way to get to places we want to go right now. And yes, I'm also sick of hearing about corona, that's why we keep publishing our travel videos. And indeed, we have so much footage to edit that it will be months and months before we run out. Welcome to our channel!

    what is that on your wrist, Matt, that you look at for length of hike and elevation gain? and how do you do the cool aerial of your hike routes?

    • @AdventurousWay
      @AdventurousWay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a Garmin Fenix 5s Plus watch amzn.to/38CbxxI (affiliate link) - very useful for hiking and running. We actually each have been wearing one for more than year and a half.
      The hike map animations - I (Diana) create them in Google Earth desktop software. I import gpx file that the gps watch recorded. Google Earth has the option to do a "flyover" following a track and recording it into a video file. Then I take that video file and edit it with the rest of the video.

    • @E_House
      @E_House 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AdventurousWay well it seriously adds to the coolness and helpfulness factor of your videos! I look forward to more vids! P.S. please put months and days on when it was filmed so we know. I know RMNP you said was July but I'm not sure you always say? It's nice to have that info in video description. Like early September? Late September? Etc. can mean big difference in temperatures depending on location. Great work you two! And I love the detailed blog posts too :)

    • @AdventurousWay
      @AdventurousWay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! I'm glad that extra work is worth it :) And I'm glad you like the blog posts too :) Most videos should have the month the video was filmed in the video description - usually at the very bottom of the video description (the early videos don't though). But good point about beginning vs end of month - I will try to include more precise date in descriptions of future videos.
