    What did Jesus mean when He said, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice?" - Matthew 9:13
    Mat 9:12 But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
    Mat 9:13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

    A very good deed and excellent explanation about God's mercy. Many have not understood the teachings of Jesus Christ. The scribes and pharisees were lacking mercy and love. They kept sabbath, passover and all festivals and thought they were righteous, Jesus calls them righteous, and Jesus said " unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the Scribes and the Pharisies, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. We have followed what Jesus taught . Love one another as yourselves.

    Hosea 6:6
    For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,
    and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.
    Matthew 9.13
    But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
    Isaiah 66.3
    “He dwho kills a bull is as if he slays a man;
    He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he ebreaks a dog’s neck;
    He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood;
    He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol.
    Just as they have chosen their own ways,
    And their soul delights in their abominations,
    4 So will I choose their delusions,
    And bring their fears on them;
    fBecause, when I called, no one answered,
    When I spoke they did not hear;
    But they did evil before My eyes,
    And chose that in which I do not delight.”
    Genesis 1:29
    Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
    Galatians 5:22-23
    But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

    Where does it say that God was saying I have you so many chances to do the law and now we are going to do something different, Because you could not?
    the law had its reason and purpose and was fulfilled in Christ,
    How many times I have heard this in the church system Oh they had so many years to make it work but they didn't now I am sending Jesus or the other is I only grave you the law to show you you cannot do it
    Both views have nothing to do with Gods character

    Amen! Great preaching. All Christians must be aware of this and examine our own selves. It is very dangerous to fall into the "Pharisees-like" mindset.
    For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
    Matthew 5:20 KJV

    Bro!!! where is this happening???

      Where there is will, it will happen. Visit the helpless and help them, then it will happen, but you don't want to, that is why it is not happening.

    To love the way Christ loved us and sent His son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Not everything you could give but the heart that gives it.

      @@gustavmahler1466 I think i could get behind that interpretation only if verse 17 wasn't in the text. Jesus says "I lay down my life that I may take it up again." He has to be referring to something other than laying down His "normal life." Jesus' words here make perfect sense in light of the crucifixion and resurrection
