Compressed ZRAM I hope is what is going on, you don't want a cache on your phone's storage. You'd wear out your storage real fast caching to it. Caching isn't very fast and it's more of something that's done on spinning hard drives, flash storages has a limited amount of writes before it fails.
I noticed something wrong with your procedure - when you used the benchmark, you looked at overall score, not the memory (mem) score. I believe The Benchmark is used to determine the *performance* of the RAM, not the capacity. System memory is inherently slower than RAM, so naturally the performance of the memory would drop off a bit. My device has 4 cores but only 800mb of RAM, so it would stutter constantly because the limited RAM was holding the CPU back. I can't fully confirm wether this app has worked or not, but since setting up the swap file my device has been much smoother, allowing me to actually type on the keyboard without random stutters, and it just feels smoother.
Hi. Before I do the benchmark test and making of this video, I asked my friend who have an idea on how to do rooting phones and putting swap files, the most important thing is the overall score, not just the memory. He said in order for the swap file to work, the software and the CPU should recognize it as a backup RAM. As you can see in the 2 results, it has inconsistencies on Overall score, CPU and MEM . My friend says that the CPU should maintain consistent and not dropping at bit as much of a phone without a swap file. To be transparent, all test have a 10-15 intervals to give the components a breather. Also, I asked my friend to try this app (and some of the Swap file app wannabes on the play store) and see if it is legit with a 2015 phone with 1GB of RAM, and all of them are not working as advertised. So the only legit thing is to root the phone.
I see. So you're saying your verifying that the app is legitimate by looking at CPU performance and wether it has improved after adding more RAM? That could work, but the thing is, most manufacturers design their devices with enough RAM to get the most optimal performance out of a CPU (I think). As I'm sure you are aware, simply adding more RAM won't automatically improve CPU performance unless the CPU was inhibited by a lack of RAM (similar to the use Case that I mentioned in which CPU cores were sitting idle because the memory was filled up). Or are you just saying that if the CPU performance is consistent in both trials then that's an indicator that the swap file is working? In that case, I still don't think the benchmark is a good indicator. How would a consistent CPU score indicate that the swap file worked? If anything, because system memory is slower than proper RAM, it would reduce performance of the CPU because it has to wait longer. That would mean that Swap files aren't really useful for improving performance, but could (like in my case) help prevent crashes/freezes because the RAM gets filled up. Honestly I think some sort of memory stress test would be better - maybe some kind of script that puts tons of load on the CPU in a way that makes the memory fill up past however many GB the device spec is listed as, and see if it crashes, or continues on using virtual memory instead.
@@rohaanomar7003 i want to say that the person who i asked this thing says, the best testing grounds is a benchmark test and not just the gaming app or heavy app because it can replicate or elevate the heavy workload simulation for the app and phone. Also, if you're still skeptical on the usage of AnTuTu benchmark, because there's a lot of videos debunking this app, is the file checker app that i used in this video. The person i asked said that a swap file you'll do should reflect in the said swap file checker app. Unfortunately, it doesn't show there. That means that it's *NOT WORKING* and only ROOTED phones will *ONLY* do that Unless the phone brand put a RAM Extension feature on their phones like my Poco M3 that i use in this video. It just have that feature and i check on my file checker app, and it shows there. Meaning the software, the swap file and the processor communicate with each other and shows there, which the fake swap file app doesn't show and do it properly.
one of the biggest giveaways is that these apps don't ask you to restart... I've got two phones with paging built in by the OEM, all ask to be restarted
For years I've always downloaded apps that shit down running apps and that does the truck for me. Them you can't also transfer your data to an SD card and clear the cache. Trust me it works.
Bro i have been lagging so hard that i spend hours on youtube for apps like this. I downloaded the app you showed and created 6gb of ram. I swear it worked a bit and the game was playable
That's not the right way to test a swap file on Android.. A swap file using your CPU to encrypt & decrypt each time you running an app that requires tones of ram. It also depends on how fast your smartphone read/writting speed is. Also a swap file is just a temporary file that give you extra mileage when you're running high ram demanding apps but it does not give you more benchmark digits so to say.. please do a proper research, don't just use AnTuTu digits to judge it.
Hi. Firstly, Before I did this video, i make sure that i have a proper research and watch videos to check the validity of my work. 2nd, i asked a person who have *KNOWLEDGE* to rooting Android phones and putting virtual RAM. That person told me to check the things I mentioned in this video like checking a swap file checker app and an AnTuTu benchmark to see if there's any changes. Because it should play as a backup RAM when the CPU is trying to access the CPU's full potential/heavy workload. Also, that person said that the playing games and using heavy workload is not the best testing grounds for the validity of the app. Even though you're saying that "don't just use AnTuTu numbers to judge", my swap file checker is ALREADY A CLEAR INDICATOR that this app is fake. If it's legit, why it doesn't show in the app? It's because there needs a communication between the software, the file and the CPU to recognized the swap file i put as a backup RAM. That's the same thing i saw when my Redmi Note 9 Pro that has the RAM EXTENSION feature, you can see it there on the app. Also, the Poco M3 that i used in the test has UFS 2.1 storage. My friend says that it doesn't matter what read/write speed a phone has, the importance is it will recognized by the software, and it just FAILED and the only legit thing is ROOTING THE PHONE. Nothing else. So please don't say that i DON'T RESEARCH because i already asked a people who knows this thing to back up my claim.
Bro No way I used this Swap No Root app and swaped 8 gb in my 3 gb android phone this app really increased my phone's performance. Mobile animations are smooth and i can see the difference in gameplay before and after. My phone performance is like a 4 to 6gb ram smartphone .
Yes, it won't change your PHYSICAL RAM because this is just a VIRTUAL RAM that uses your built-in storage as a back up RAM. However, I tried this app so hard and it REALLY DOESN'T WORK on my phones like Poco and Vivo (the one that doesn't have the Virtual RAM feature baked in on the system) The true way of having a Virtual RAM is either when manufacturers really put it on their system or if your phone is ROOTED. If that 2 things doesn't have on the phone, it won't work even though you'll install ALL the Virtual RAM app "wannabes" on Play Store because it's just a hoax.

I hope you read this but there are flaws to your test. Firstly any third party swap file created can not be read by the swap file checker because it is checking for a swap file from the ram extension option which came with the phone. Secondly the reason why you're not seeing improvement using swap file is that unlike physical ram, physical storage on Android is slower thus swapping could lead to no performance improvement. U must use swap file on a fast SD card, preferably a 120gb as as they offer the fastest speed. In short, swapping is legit as it can be done on PC

Yeah, if you had any clue how to actually benchmark the performance of a cpu / gpu, you'd be dangerous. ) First off, you are claiming that a single run to single run variance of 2000 points is a big difference. Let's put that to scale. 2000 points out of 174,000 points, is less than a 1.5% run to run variance. This is what is known as "margin of error variance". Second, you never use benchmarks that are literally just a simulation of a run and expect to get a result that will closely match real world performance figures. Take a game including load up time and a predetermined part of the game that you can do the same exact thing and have the same exact things happen during that time, and do multiple runs with each setting. You'll know you're getting good data when you are hitting high cpu / gpu usage (85-99%)single run consistently in both settings. Third, the swap file isn't there to "increase" your ram. It's to allow the SoC a larger buffer, basically, as drawing from a slower pre cordoned and organized cache is still faster than having to draw it from the main storage on the fly, not to mention it can draw from / to it on the sd card at the same time that it accesses the main internal storage without slowing down the SoC, meaning your phone is having to empty out most of it's memory and load what it needs from the external memory much less often. For some games / apps, this will make a net positive influence to overall average fps in games / whatever, but tends to have slower load times as the data on the swap is being organized to be accessable in a specific order instead of random access (i.e. RAM). Also, if you read the fine print details on that app you're using, it never claims to be capable of activating a swap file without rooting, and the new version on the app store specifically states this. Once rooted, and swap file is activated on my moto g pure (3 gb ram stock, I added 5bg swap file) I saw slightly slower load times in real racing 3, but higher overall average fps in the game once it WAS loaded. This is same exact same thing as Doublespace back in the 486 days mid to late 80's on pc's, and absolutely blows my mind that people are still so missinformed about what it is and how it works even 4 decades later, yet confidently try to inform other people based on unverified personal opinion rather than doing 30 minutes worth of google research. That is the confusion that is troubling people.

@@TechMNO Swap file is legit for the same application situation as it's been for the past 35 years.
That means that it's *NOT WORKING* and only ROOTED phones will *ONLY* do that
Unless the phone brand put a RAM Extension feature on their phones like my Poco M3 that i use in this video.

How to upgrade my Tecno Pop 6 ram
For years I've always downloaded apps that shit down running apps and that does the truck for me. Them you can't also transfer your data to an SD card and clear the cache. Trust me it works.
What apps did you use for the Benchmark??
Swap
Bro i have been lagging so hard that i spend hours on youtube for apps like this. I downloaded the app you showed and created 6gb of ram. I swear it worked a bit and the game was playable
He is lying, poco phones have one of the highest rams, the least is 8 GB ram
Love the vide it explains better
Thanx for actually testing it, was super helpful. My question is though, are there any apps out there that is able to give you an increase in ram?
Idk, but if u find one I need one😂 my phone a potato
It takes my internal storage instead of increasing scape
Its working for games ?? After doing this i can play pubg without stuck???
yes it makes the game smoother
Bro No way I used this Swap No Root app and swaped 8 gb in my 3 gb android phone this app really increased my phone's performance. Mobile animations are smooth and i can see the difference in gameplay before and after. My phone performance is like a 4 to 6gb ram smartphone .
I wonder if these works on Retroid pocket and other emulation handhelds that uses android
Bro gave an exclusion clause😂
It won't change the Ram but it's legit
Yes, it won't change your PHYSICAL RAM because this is just a VIRTUAL RAM that uses your built-in storage as a back up RAM. However, I tried this app so hard and it REALLY DOESN'T WORK on my phones like Poco and Vivo (the one that doesn't have the Virtual RAM feature baked in on the system)
The true way of having a Virtual RAM is either when manufacturers really put it on their system or if your phone is ROOTED.

In short, swapping is legit as it can be done on PC
that app is scam
Yes. This is really a hoax app. Tried to believe it every time but there's really no changes in performance

this apps is scam, watch review swap no root
Yes, it's really a hoax app. That's why I tried to benchmark it and tested on games to see if it's really legit. I also went far and wide on checking by looking for the swap file status. And it turns out that there's no changes on my system and experience
Where are you from
Yeah, if you had any clue how to actually benchmark the performance of a cpu / gpu, you'd be dangerous. )
First off, you are claiming that a single run to single run variance of 2000 points is a big difference.
Uhm, with the LOOOOOONG comment you said, i can't see your point.. So, are you Team "Swap File is legit" or Team Swap file is NOT legit"?
Because if your answer is Swap file is NOT legit, then you just waste your time. If you watch my video VERY closely, I said that this app is a HOAX and ROOTING THE PHONE to have swap file working is the only way, debunking the claims of SOOOOOO many people, majority is indians that this Swap file is a legit app. Heck, even the legit extended RAM from brands like Xiaomi, Vivo and Samsung only have small boost. What more of this wannabe app can do?
@@TechMNO Swap file is legit for the same application situation as it's been for the past 35 years. If you have 2 gigs raqm, and you need 4 or 6 in order to hold enough data to not have to read direct from drive across the SoC, then it's PROPER legit. In nearly EVERY other scenario, it's usually not, but in that ONE it's literally a crutch that can buy you a year or two before replacing phone.
@@TechMNO Also, I love how reading a 2 or 3 paragraph comment is too much for you, after I just sat and watched you talk out your ass for 10 minutes...... hillarious argument.
