Good video and thanks! I just did this to my rear diff, we’ll see how it performs. Feels like there’s no play so it should cure the gear issues. I also shimmed in the diff case input gear hole before installing the input bearing and that makes for better bite on the ring gear as well . Used a19x13x0.2 mm shim , hard to find but they are out there and fits fine in case. Also subbed
I wouldn't shim the satellite gears on one end of each shaft it will force them off center of the sun gears. If you haven't run the ruck yet please remove them and ship more large shims under the sun if needed. Also the mesh should be felt with dry gears when shimming.

Actually you probably don’t need the smaller shims. I’d just use as many of the bigger shims that go behind the sun gears. Just don’t use too many, add the shims then tighten the diff dry to see if it binds and then remove shims until smooth. It’ll take some finesse. If shimmed correctly you’ll never worry about diffs
It’s holding up tremendously. Matter of fact I’ve had plenty of runs on it so far. With the new Ti chassis I installed not too long ago, I have to get out bashing with it more!

I am using the newly released rear open diff with the big circle shims. It has been holding up to all I can give it. So for me it is a complete upgrade compared to the regular 6S diffs. They are a great tough diff that holds up great.

Why you shim 2 satellite instead 4 of them for more grip?
You don't shim the Ring gear inside the bearing to tighten it up against the pinion gear? Might be a mistake not to buddy.
It had one. I should have done over the video but it does have one shim in there👍🏼

I shimmed my front diff like this when I first got it. I’ve been running it that way, and it’s been running just fine.
Also the LSD diff I was running before this Open, it too was shimmed this way

How important is that rear aluminum suspension mount I don’t have one but I’m debating if I should order one soon?

If you’re talking about the silver chassis brace it’s an M2C racing brace. It is 7075 alu and it is one of the great upgrades for Arrma 6s vehicles

That’s not an open diff. That’s a limited slip diff. An open diff would be a one wheel peel.
