    Hi Brother and Sister, the rooms are very big compare to the ones here in UK. Manage the two bedrooms to reduce cost for about a year whilst you search for perfect one or even buy a land and build your own house.

    I would go for one of the two bedroom homes. Even though you’ll have family and friends over, mind your expenses! They can stay in a close by Airbnb. Also make sure it’s close to the school. Stay within budget and you’ll be able to enjoy life in 🇬🇭. Keep it up and Good luck. You won’t want to leave by the end of the year. Love the vlogs

    Make plans to quickly build your own house by getting a duly registered land in Accra. Renting a house and paying killer prices is not worth it . Live like a normal Ghanaian or else your resources would soon be depleted. You will be drained financially, Ghana can be really expensive. But with careful planning and wise spending it’s a good and lovely place to be . You can move to a not so expensive vicinity and start from there . Hope you get it 😉😉

    • @AnnaAcheampong
      @AnnaAcheampong  4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I think we would look into building once we decide we are really staying here. For now the plan is to stay for a year and see how we all feel and if we can start up a business.
      Thanks for your advice tho !

    I think you should avoid this kind of shatta wale type areas. All they are going to do is try to suck up your money even more because they know you are from abroad. And they quote “ridiculous prices like US$500,000 to 1 mill. I think the best option is go for the outskirts of Accra so you can save your money to do more efficient thing and Ghana , then to put it in overpriced concrete building.

    You ended up renting house number 5 which is the big house you did a property tour of when you moved out? People in the comment section gave you really good advise. There is only 4 of you and your kids are small. It’s good you ended up downsizing in the long run though. It will help you get to your long term goal quicker.

    Last one or any of the two bedrooms closer to school. If you get visitors the kids can stay in your room. Some guests can stay in the sitting room. Keeping your eye on your budget is important. Are you thinking of building your own home? That would be a good idea even if you leave after a year. At least you would always have your own place when you come to Ghana
    Best to start building when you are there... the question is would you want to go back? 🤔😉

    In looking at the homes you selected for viewing, I think you scope appears undefined. I see mega homes and small 2 bedroom apartments so what ecarly is your budget and what are you looking for. I think you need to know your budget and stick to it. Frustration always sets in when you see things you want but money restrict you. It is a very frustrating thing. Rent a basic unit, that has safe security environment and take your time to look for something. A two bedroom should be fine for now as you and your husband need only 1 bedroom and your 2 kids can also share the other bedroom. Forget about your guest for now. Do the immediate thing and worry about the rest latter.

    If you can get a lease for one year start a business and see how you like it fine but plz don't spend too much on rent, by six months' time you will have gotten the picture, your feeling will speak the kids all let you know what moved to make. Once they are happy. I wish you all the blessing! Remember to build your own! I hope I get to see you in Ghana soon. After the lockdown. Home here I come. I am not thinking I am moving 📦lol ready

    Sis don’t worry it will
    Fall into place. One thing about ghana is it you don’t have your own house or car it can get expensive so try to stay within budget on the accommodation. The school too can be dear depending on which one you go with. It takes time but you will get there. We got here in December and the kids started school
    In February. It took that long for us to settle in first before we could even enroll them in school as we were just completing our house and there was mess everywhere. Try to get the school
    To be close to home. Accra traffic is mad

    Big up to our family of the Achampongs. Forty one years ago when I landed in Accra, I saw loads and loads of beautiful homes. The one that I stayed was a bungalow a diner combined lounge, a kitchen downstairs, a bedroom, combined toilet and a garage. Upstairs bedrooms combined with bathrooms and shoe cupboards. I tell our homes in Accra is so expensive and beautiful too. Am sure Achampong family got their dream home eventually? What number did you go for? So where is my jollof?

    Hi Anna, can you share the name of the property agent(s) that you used please? My mum is thinking to buy a house in Ghana rather than build. It would be great to know some businesses. Thank you! 😊

    You and your family are lovely! Are you still in malaria tablets? I assume Malarone? It is very bad for your liver if you take it long term. Best to just treat malaria once you get it - drugs available in any pharmacy but best to go to Nyaho clinic (or any other decent clinic) to be tested once any of you get it. Malaria kills!

    Hey, do you mind sharing how you found the properties? Did you use one or several agents? We are also house searching but I can't seem to find a reliable estate agent.

    • @AnnaAcheampong
      @AnnaAcheampong  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Finding a good agent is very difficult. I would recommand you to just drive around in the neighborhood you like, people have sighns up on their house. Ask around. Friend/family, anything but an agent to be honest.

      The Eastern region would be more affordable. It's one of the regions closer to Accra. Even on weekends you can drive to Accra and return.
