Trimer wheels simplest solution

- Added wheels to my trimmer to use it as a lawn mower (as most people do in Puerto Rico, but without the benefit of wheels). Used parts of small old bicycle, tie wraps and 1/4 threaded rod. It works perfectly! (Español) Le añadí ruedas al trimmer para usarla como cortadora de grama; asi se usa el trimmer en Puerto Rico. Use las ruedas de una bicicleta pequeña, amarras de nylon y varilla de rosca continua. Funciona a la perfección! Lo hice yo (mas simple) inspirado en otros videos de youtube.
It's a shame that we can't see how you actually mounted the axle to the trimmer guard. Your setup is the Best Positioning of the wheels of all the different DIY configurations on TH-cam. The others have the wheels positioned way behind the trimmer head, and that causes more problems that it eliminates. We just can't tell from your video how you connect it..

Change those wheels to swivel style wheels and add a third leg swivel wheel behind the trimmer. now you have complete level control

TH-cam опасная штука, что-то увидел и почему-то хочется это повторить)))
Данная система не экономична, очень узкий захват. Ножками придется по полю раз в шесть больше скакать.

I think this would be practical for some people who run a weed eater all day an mostly trimming grass next to concrete curbs and straight line runs. An i would also have to attach it to the guard in such a way to wear I could take it off and reattach it with ease
harbor freight has a lot of swivel wheels all sizes make a clamp type bracket bolt to wheels and trimmer shaft not too hard if you are handy with tools p s those wheels are made well and very cheap i have several
I watched this all the way through because I thought it show how the wheels were attached. Wasted 3 minutes watching a guy mow. No useful info in this video.

I agree. I've watched several of these videos saying they are about "easy conversion to lawnmower" and then they just show someone mowing the lawn. Very frustrating.

Там не катушка стоит, а алюминиевая головка с отрезками лески по 26 см, они толще, на бак почти хватает
На таком газоне леска рваться не будет. )

Hi, thanks for your kind comment! I attached the threaded rod to the plastic trimmer guard with a couple zip ties (after poking two small holes per side on top of the plastic material).
I like yours better than mine! I just finished my second test, and it needs adjustments...
Still growing up the wall , but a good labour saving modification .

what about the grass at the wall?
I approached the last grass blades closest to the wall with the trimmer going towards the wall. They can be cut that way steering slightly to the side in back and forth movements.
looks like a vacuum cleaner no more arm pains

Yes. It helps keep a level grass cut height. It can be upgraded with swivel wheels (as our commenters have pointed out) for better control of movement.

That was a time of financial hardship. A trimmer was the only thing i had.

@@raimael all thread is how I have heard it most of my life and i think that it was a excellent idea, it’s very versatile for the trades I’ve used it to hang hvac equipment , I’ve used it for a connecting bolt for a grab bar on my atc three wheeler, axles , studs etc. etc !
