What a beautiful model, someday I hope someone makes an O scale SP Rotary

Thanks for posting this review. It's definitely built for the collector market, as hardly any layouts model the deep snow conditions that would justify operation.

What a great at your scale model what's very authentic about the sound decoder is that it was typical of rotary plows to have a single chime hooter whistle as the The Cumbres and Toltec rotary OY has a single chime hooter whistle in real life

Whilst it was great as ever to witness a new product running freely on test, what about the snow?
For that contribution to the Coach Yard pension fund, I would expect it be fully working, snow clearance et al. Is that to be seen in a future Part II ?

I do like the model, but never understood why purchase one? It never snows on the layout

I hate to say it, but this model is nowhere near the quality/features you'd expect even if it was a $400 engine. With the hideous blue LED, lack of DCC/sound, low model detail on the bottom, and the gear mechanism being visible, I would pay no more than $200 for this, maybe $300 if it's brass. I'm not sure what they're smoking over at The Coach Yard, but this thing isn't even remotely close to being worth $1800. I don't even think a G scale version of this would be worth $1800.

They’re dead, but they made a huge impact.

in this day and age paying 1800 for a brass model and it's not dcc ready is just inexcusable.

dcc ready requires boards. those are more for mass produced models. Keep in mind many buyers of brass do not operate on DCC and still use DC
