Thank you JG for all these years of keeping me from ripping my hair out of most of the chemistry courses I have taken. We appreciate you 👍🏽

I genuinely want to thank you JG! It’s because of you I got an A* in GCSE chemistry and I’m now using your videos for A levels, I just wanted to let you know that you’re helping so many people I know out and you’re a damn genius and somehow explain everything clearly and sufficiently in not too long of a timescale (compared to the two weeks my teachers spend explaining the first part of a topic, you do it in 20 minutes), I don’t study physics anymore for A levels but thought I’d thank you in your most recent video so you can see. Also keep the acting up, great work!

Just saying you have helped my grades so much I'm this channel existed
If it weren't for this channel my marks wouldve been at atleast 60%, right now they're between 76% and 92%

Great video, wow I could only imagine the days when real scientists were working and coming up with these oscillators I wonder what they were thinking?

The Hartley Oscillator is for much higher frequencies. I wanted a 1Khz output years ago and used a frequency shift oscillator with an op amp but had unsatisfactory distortion. Thank you!

You can get a much cleaner sinewave from the Colpitts if you take your signal from the tank instead of the collector. Obviously you need to take care not to load it excessively or you'll kill the oscillation. Above 10 kHz or so the circuit actually begins radiating pretty effectively so you can monitor what its doing at some distance using a coil pickup, and at higher frequencies still, an antenna.

So wait, the output of a circuit can pass through the collector portion of the transistor? I thought the output of a transistor went through the emitter? So a question for all of you electrical engineer students. Are you required to memorize all of these circuit designs in this playlist?

Is there any formula to calculate the output voltage, what does it depends on?

The capacitor at the collector is for coupling not bypass.

C1/C2 ratio is called feedback ratio. Too much feedback causes output sine wave to become distorted. Too little does not support continues oscillation.

When I do the problem shown at 12:04, I get 3,647,427.42817.... and not 361.... I tried working the problem several times.

Why such large capacitances on your DC blocking caps? I've used caps on the order of 1uF to 0.1uF. When I built a Colpitts that was running at close to 1MHz I used 0.001uF.

What I need to create a pure sign wave 50hz ? And why you did not use same caps C1 and C2

They dont have to be. I made the circuit using a 337uH inductor and 2 100nF capacitors and it works fine.
