I just bought this 40 lb vest and am looking forward to using it for wearing around the house all day after my morning runs and perhaps wearing it for a 5 mile run with no more than 10 lbs in it. Your video was very informative and I appreciated the solid review. I am 59 and run ultras (50 - 100 milers) and am terrible about cross training - so I'm hoping this gives me some benefit (and helps me lose about 12 lbs!).
Great review and thanks for sharing! QQ, if you buy the 40 lb vest like you did, can you in the future, buy additional/heavier individual weights to increase the overall weight? Also, are you still satisfied with the product?
I suppose you could switch out the weights, but it would just have to fit in to the pockets. I still do love the vest, but I it doesn't get heavy use. Thank you for the comment / question
I hated my RunMax vest. It digs into my shoulders and the pushes against my chest making it uncomfortable. Its garbage. So I just put the weights into my padded backpack and do pullups with it. I just bought a $260 vest that is 20lbs and is supposed to super thin that you can run and still feel comfortable with them, as its not bulky and you can hide them by putting cloth over them. It comes tomorrow, and If these work out I will get the large size and throw it over my medium, for 40 lbs total. Hahah, $520 for the most comfortable vest in the world.
This was a great video and convinced me on getting one. Just one question, after 3 years of posting this video, how is the vest holding up? the stiches and stuff... Thanks 🙂
It's funny because I just threw it on the other day. It's held up fine but honestly didn't use it that much for its intended use. I pretty used it as an external weight for my total gym but regardless it's held up just fine. It is however a bit uncomfortable in retrospect with the full 40lbs to do say a long walk for what it's worth.
When I purchased this vest it came with the shoulder pads at no extra cost. Saved me during the lockdown!

Great review.
thank you.
this is an awesome video! thank you very much. I appreciate this
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching.
@@hybridresistance are you still happy with the vest? how is the vest for squats? is the vest too long or too bulky for squats? Thanks
This vest is the same as the RunMax except for the color and name. I have the runmax , 👍
My thing with this it doesn't stay on when I RUN. Is there a way to make it fit better when I run?
It's not the best vest for running. I just used it walking, calisthenics, and on the total gym.
@@hybridresistance yeah I see
Does every weighted vest come with the wieght
Yes it does, or at least from these guys.
@@hybridresistance okay thansk
Will this fit a large man - 56 suit/waist ?
Sorry, I can say for sure. I'm also ignorant to suit sizes.
Lose sand is garbage. Same with the oily rubber inserts on others. My next vest will be with solid metal bar inserts only.
Can a woman wear this comfortably?
I would say not. I'd recommend this now amzn.to/3Z1VUgb
Damn I spent 82$ because it charged shipping and handling 😂
Sorry to hear that. I think it was this 40lb weight at the time that was free shipping but the others were not.
