His Guitar playing is masterful here. It doesn’t need to be fancy, the rhythmical stabs and strums are just exquisite and so tasteful.
The beauty of going to his concerts is that he is not afraid to change his great songs and after 24 shows myself I can't wait until the next one. Here he is smiling and doing his little shuffle and phrasing like nobody else in show business. God bless bob Dylan. 😊

I agree. There’s a beauty about Dylan’s often criticised voice. There’s far more emotion conveyed in Dylan’s voice than any of the pitch perfect unshaken, trained voices of so many pop stars of today. I’d take this over a perfectly clean voice any day.

I’ve never been a big fan of Bob Dylan, but you damn sure have to give it to him on this performance. Being acquainted with this song through Bluegrass, I really enjoyed seeing him, perform his song with his heart and soul in it.

I'm truly grateful I got to see Dylan live many times... What a treat.
I’ve gotten to see him 51 times. First show I was 17. I’m 41 now and can’t wait for #52. Also, I live in the same building as Charlie Sexton. He dresses like a vampire hiding from the sun. The 1 thing about BD that he’s told me is that he rearranges these songs at will. Usually they don’t get the new arrangements until the day of the show at soundcheck.
@@MrPernell27 I've spoken with Charlie about this very thing !! I still say Dylans band is the hardest to play in. I've seen him many, many times, and his band is constantly glued to him because they never know what he's going to do and they have to be ON every second of the show. I do miss Charlie though.... the 2 together are special !!!

Know what? If Bob Dylan came here to this little town of Marcialla Italy to give a free concert in July during the month-long town festival, I would go see it.

I agree those were some great years. Dylan was in fine form and his band featured his best touring line-up ever in my opinion, in large part due to the contributions of the amazingly musically proficient Larry Campbell, especially when eventually combined with Charlie Sexton as well.
In case you haven’t already come across them, there are 2 other videos up on the channel from this Rochester show as well: Stone Walls and Steel Bars, and Forever Young. And many more videos from other venues during the years you mentioned.
Eventually when I finish some others projects like the Japan ‘94 series, I’ll add a few more performances from this Rochester ‘98 show.
