Said it before that the bass line on this is absolutely friggin spot on... he is like a bloody metronome... but such a sad loss to all those pickers out there ...that Neal Casal is no longer with us... such a talent and such a loss... may you RIP Neal... and may you fly...
the keyboard is fucking magic on this, he gets into it and almost looks like a lead guitarist bending notes and enjoying himself. hats off to talented individuals.
I have been watching and listening to this song for years. It’s one of Chris’s best performances, restraint is a huge factor. The musicians are even better. If everyone in earth hears this at the same time…
I heard just a few chords from the song, and thought it was that Dylan song the Dead used to play, but didn't recognize who did it. This is a great version too. Such great times, especially at the Shoreline!
This is absolutely great. Chris is one of the best vocalist in rock singing a Dylan song. Thanks TH-cam we can still get our Black Crows fix by listening to Chris Robinson Brotherhood.
This video served as my introduction to Neal. Better late than never and Lord knows how many times I have watched this performance. His playing is fucking flawless and he complements Chris better than anyone, ever. Rest in Peace brother.
This never gets old man. My absolute favorite cover of all time. Neal Casal was an animal of a guitar player. Very blessed I got to see CRB as many times as I did. That phrasing in this solo is other worldly.
I love a group that PLAYS an instrument, really, really sings and can and does WRITE their own music ... and plays LIVE !! Now, that is about %10 percent of the industry.
I absolutely agree with you. You seem like a polite person and I've seen situations where people won't come out of the gate in a nice manner therefore setting the pace for hostility. My retired husband and I fly frequently back and forth from Florida to Colorado to see grandkids many times I fly alone and being adaptable and small I usually don't pick a seat and my husband us the same way. Occasionally we've pre payed for sears together, but we're both aware sometimes it's more important for others than us to absolutely switch seats. My philosophy is whatever gets us where we're going lol! My last flight there was an announcement to please refrain from eating any peanut products as there was a person on board with severe allergies. A moment of disappointment as all my snacks had nuts except for the string cheese! Luckily it paired well with a nice white wine! Make the best of the day count your blessings and safe travel!
Dec. 30, 2016 at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA CRB played an entire night of nothing but Dylan songs and it was awesome! Thanks Bob for providing us with so many amazing songs!
I love their approach to just playing the greatest American music and doing it well. Find me another singer like Chris and I would be his guitarist no questions asked.
Chris, I love you dude. Thank you for making a masterful cover of "The Masters" song. Not many people can cover Bob Dylan the way you have. The guys in your band are so amazing.
Anthony Burnam agreed. I remember seeing them open for Aerosmith on their first major tour. they were tight and solid then. I just wish they would bury the hate.
We so miss the Black Crowes. We would attend as many shows as our budget and work schedule would allow. Chris is a force but The Black Crowes are amazing!!!
Mannnnn. Chris can take a great song and take it over the top !!! Another GREAT cover !! The best version just like Dylan's Girl from the north country & Driving wheel.
Said it before that the bass line on this is absolutely friggin spot on... he is like a bloody metronome... but such a sad loss to all those pickers out there ...that Neal Casal is no longer with us... such a talent and such a loss... may you RIP Neal... and may you fly...
Neal.was such an awesome player,my God...❤
Hope he’s @ peace wherever he may be ✌🏽❤️🩹
What a life he had, and threw it all away to play with drugs.
@@kennethward4985bro, such an ignorant view but to each his own. Mental health is real…
BOGGLES my mind how the people observing this seem unphased. I'm moved every time I hear this masterpiece.
the keyboard is fucking magic on this, he gets into it and almost looks like a lead guitarist bending notes and enjoying himself. hats off to talented individuals.
Exactly! Any idea what keyboard he's playing?
Agree, and I’m no musician but they all sound amazing
Much of great playing is what is not played.
Keyboard and lead guitar are so tight as well as the rest of the band. Fantastic mix
@@Elazarko looks like a Mini Moog
One of the great and underappreciated voices in rock. That's my 2 cents.
I agree.....Chris is singing the shit out of the song.
Vocals like no one else. Chris is singing the shit out of the song, I couldn’t say it better.
Your 2 cents with be worth a dollar in 25 years if it isn't already.
Like to see him do more Humble Pie
@@rickdeal2800 I have thought the same thing for years!
I have been watching and listening to this song for years. It’s one of Chris’s best performances, restraint is a huge factor. The musicians are even better. If everyone in earth hears this at the same time…
One of the best Dylan covers in recent memory by a legendary singer-songwriter.
D but not even close to Van Morrissons rendition... imo
I favor the 13th Floor Elevators' version (MORE JUG!)
Neal could get the notes out of a guitar. Man what a loss! RIP Neal Casal
Was really just appreciating His playing. Had such a Garcialike quality to him, while still being himself. Gonna be missed.
Hard to wrap your head around it all... he will truly be missed.
oh wow we lost Young to : (
he just off the world stage now he only a scripted character ...sadly
Great player
On August 26, 2019,
Neal Casal, American guitarist,
singer, songwriter, and photographer
left this world, but his musicianship
will never leave us.

Just kick back and enjoy this ride. The music will take you where you need to be. 🎸👏💽🎤🎶🥁🎹🎸
During the 80's, the Grateful Dead would close shows with this tune, and we would sing: It's all over now, find your shoes!
Timothy Ehrler I vaguely remember that! Lol
Sounds like a fucking dream man 🤘🏾
I heard just a few chords from the song, and thought it was that Dylan song the Dead used to play, but didn't recognize who did it. This is a great version too. Such great times, especially at the Shoreline!
I got to see Bob Weir do this as an encore in Louisville last November
You have just inspired many searches for Grateful Dead live shows in the 80s... Hell yeah
I can't stop listening to this song, amazing arrangement.
Chris is a great singer.
I love Chris's voice man
Incredible. Possibly THE BEST music video ever posted on TH-cam.
Top three on YT by far.
Absolutely great rendition of a classic Dylan song. Chris Robinson has been one of my favorite vocalists for a long time.
This is absolutely great. Chris is one of the best vocalist in rock singing a Dylan song. Thanks TH-cam we can still get our Black Crows fix by listening to Chris Robinson Brotherhood.
love the sound of his voice
U r right Thomas, Chris Robinson is fabulous! Great cover of Dylan't song. Can't beat CRB, so damnnnnnnn good. Patty from Vermont.
I could watch that portion showing Neal playing rhythm and filling it in a million times and it never get old. RIP Neal😢😔
Me too buddy
Daniel Jones AGREEEE I could watch and listen to this allll day... may just. Miss you Neal. 💫💎❤️
The sound of the snare drum is PERFECT!
yes...shes a snappy one crisp ..not quite like a copland but interesting
@@makokan2000 good taste drummer
Miss a world that had Neal playing. Didn’t matter who he was playing with. He was always great
Impeccable performance. These dudes are a well oiled and finely tuned unit. Real musicians, this is no bullshit.
This video served as my introduction to Neal. Better late than never and Lord knows how many times I have watched this performance. His playing is fucking flawless and he complements Chris better than anyone, ever. Rest in Peace brother.
Listen to the first 2 crb albums for Neals stellar playing.
Go to version of this song, great arrangement, great guitar- RIP, that voice, the keyboard… wow
Chris Robinson, one of the best singers, musicians, writers, in my time on this planet so far.
I take it it's just a short visit?
For me it is the first time I watch this - I am speachless - it is soooo unbelievable beautiful - WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP Neal. Class all the way!
This never gets old man. My absolute favorite cover of all time. Neal Casal was an animal of a guitar player. Very blessed I got to see CRB as many times as I did. That phrasing in this solo is other worldly.
chris robinson and chris cornell, two of the best voices out there ,in a world of auto tune, musicianship
bret mayer Yeah man. I agree. CC--- I told everyone the same thing when Soundgarden came out.
sandra myers very sad that Chris Corrnell is now gone :-(
There's plenty of great voices out there but the public is too lazy to look further than mainstream media.
I've been fortunate to see them both, and I agree 100%.
You should check out Richie Kotzen !
Chris has the perfect rock and roll voice in my opinion! That's all, just my opinion people!!
This is what woke me up to Chris... I suddenly became aware and f his talent. And Neil.. and alllll the stuff they made. Thanks Neil!!
A heck of an interpretation.
Thank god the boys are back together with a fantastic new album
Rest in Peace, brother Neal. You are deeply missed 💔
I keep coming back to this for the keys, love it.
Any idea what he's playing?
Also need to mention, what a kick-ass cover!
Amazing version.
Great voice Chris.
Beautiful guitar solo.
Great performance,great guitar player!!!
one of the best videos in the history of the internet. to me it is the best version of this song
i love this version. a masterpiece.
T.C. - Them 1966 and Animals 1978...

Dig that ultra-groovy "Up On Cripple Creek" beat!
Richard Grandmont good call!👍🏻
One of the remaining rockers still rockin. Love me some Robinson
A band that was epic, few knew... it will gain in fame after the fact
Black Crowes?CRB?. WTF. Fantastic sound. I love it. Chris is one of my favorite musicans. Rock`n`Roll Baby.
nobody can say he mails it in. So much emotion every time chris sings. dylan is a genius for writing this song but i prefer this version.
This is one of the best covers of any Dylan song--thanks for posting it!
Seriously, it really doesn't get much better. 🍀 just hypnotic and perfect for my respect for these amazing musicians!

Again, what a voice!
I'm amazed he can play like that. He hasn't been at it that long. He really understands the timing. His inner rythem is solid.
This jam makes me feel so good. The sound is killer.
How does it get better......Awesome band, voice - the voice! My goodness, life is now better, thank you......
This is absolutely incredible
I saw this great band at a bar here in Melbourne. Simply superb.
Tough song to cover and they do a great job with it. Thanks for posting
Right!
Best cover/version of this song hands down
Ole Bob would be proud of this excellent cover. 👍🏻
what a great version. almost a Jerry-esque guitar solo. I love it.
I love their approach to just playing the greatest American music and doing it well. Find me another singer like Chris and I would be his guitarist no questions asked.
Best jam i've listen to this year, could get lost in it.

This sounds great....the power of music just makes me so much better in so many levels and this one is definitely one of those songs
CRB!
Keep em coming...
Currently, the Best band out there
Sincerely, this is gorgeous. Especially the instrumental portion. Not discrediting lead vocals. They are awesome, too.
I loved it. I just hope one day to see the brothers fix what's broken and get the Crowe's together for some shows. :) One can wish, can't he?
TheReal Bowlochili this is pretty damn nice though. But crowes was one in a million. Twice as hard and Remedy still killin me.
Anthony Burnam agreed. I remember seeing them open for Aerosmith on their first major tour. they were tight and solid then. I just wish they would bury the hate.
I sooooooooooo HOPE U R RIGHT
Amazing what the Music Industry does to people.. even family. Although not the same story but...Oasis and Kinks come to mind...countless others...

neal, we miss your art. thanks for also being your self. you're missed, held in high light
Many great things here, great leads, killer drummer, I wish I could jam with them!
Rest in eternal paradise, Neal Casal. Your memory is a blessing.
He's got that Leon Russell soul on his Dylan covers, pretty sweet.
Beautifully performed. What a song. What a band. What a 9:23 in time.
Chris Robinson RULESSSSS!!!!
I got goosebumps all over.
Beautiful
We so miss the Black Crowes. We would attend as many shows as our budget and work schedule would allow. Chris is a force but The Black Crowes are amazing!!!
Me too!! I used to live in San Francisco and would go to all the fillmore shows every year! The Black Crowes were amazing!
I love this song because I love Chris Robinson's music in general, Dylan and that fact that his drummer makes faces like a possum. great job guys
Drummer looks like Robin Williams.
the bass line is cool. actually everything is awesome in this cover
Making the difficult look easy is the sign of a true pro. Well done boys!
Beautiful cover!
Marvelous as I grow older and love this band and his brothers work/band simply marvelous. A great direction in music.
Love his voice. unique!
the grooves and tempo changes on this recoding are second to none. crb is on another level. Glad I am one of the few who understands this.
Nice intro.. great version guys 🎸
Great cover by Chris Robinson and the Brotherhood hope they will play somewhere in Kentucky in 2017 rock on my friends!

Agree with you 100%!!!
Can’t believe I’m just hearing this!! WOW!!! EXCELLENT!!
What a great intro to CRB, I hadn't heard of them. But then I live in a cave under a mountain, so you'd expect that.
Eric Boreen guess that's better, than a van down by the river!!
30 seconds in...my backs already curling up...lol....never disappointed with these guys...eva!!!
I'm a connoisseur of good music of any Era and any true artist and this is superb 👌
I love this song. I love the jerry Garcia vibe I get off the lead guitar 😁
What a good bunch of good guys... I love how they like their music. It's so obvious on the drummer's face.
What a jam
Great sound, everybody is just great, Chris Robinson, Neal casal, subtle drummer... Super!
NO ONE does Dylan better than Chris Robinson. This is phenomenal. What a cool arrangement and great performance.
Exactly!
Chris is a self proclaimed DEAD HEAD........
There's an argument to be made for Roger McGuinn's ability to cover Dylan like no other.
The losing one lol nah just kidding
The Crowe's cover of Rainy Day Woman #12 & 35 is pretty sweet too!
Love the guys watching in the back with absolute zero joy lol. I'm bouncing off the walls in my office watching this! So fantastic, thanks Chris.
It get,s better every time i hear it 😎😎😎
Mannnnn. Chris can take a great song and take it over the top !!! Another GREAT cover !! The best version just like Dylan's Girl from the north country & Driving wheel.
That synth solo was tight!!!
Do you know the name of the synth?
