GIANT 3D PRINTED NERF GATLING GUN

- I made an oversized #Nerf Rival gatling gun that shoots balls at an incredible rate of 10 balls per second and more than 100 kmh. It has been a blast to build and super fun to test. If you think I should go mental and build an even bigger and faster one throw your thoughts in the comments!

I think Ivan is spanish (I'm spanish too) this seems a little weird for me cause here in Spain there is almost no interest in creating nerf-like blasters, making competitive nerf or hvz events and there's no modding comunity. I don't know anyone who is into this things besides myself and a group of around 10 people I also got to discover the hobby. I would love if nerf modding became a popular thing in Spain.

For v2 you should maybe add a fan just for loading. That way the feeding will be more consistent as well as the fire rate. Great job!
Yeah. The balls aren't feeding along the channels properly because the suction only effects the first ball, as heard when he loaded one ball. It really needs the suction to pull the first ball into the wheel rapidly, and a fan to assist the last balls to move more quickly along the duct.

If you think this is a lot watch the TH-cam “captain Xavier” he made a nerf mini gun with over 1000 round capacity that uses a leaf blower bag on reverse to push darts in to the blaster

If you ever make a version 2.0 put it so the barrel/ barrells are barrel size of the rival rounds instead of using 74 rounds you could have hundreds

Use a funnel with a box of balls keep the nerf gun lower it will allow the balls to free flow to the gun loading port it will need to be mounted for reliability but absolutely possible what printer do you use?

Awesome! It would be even more devastating with a laser to help with targeting. A ball counter display on top would be nifty too for the user.
I was thinking the same about the ball counter. Or some kind of empty/full light gauge.
I think the lights are a sub for the laser pointer, less dangerous.

with such a fixed ball capacity, i am kinda surprised you didn't add a ammo counter
if you ever do a V2, it would be awesome to see its internals scaled down to use the smaller balls but keep the large body for mega capacity
Can even go with the same EDF, but have a multi-chamber design for maximum balls-per-m^3
I think normal sized rival ammo would be a nice change as well. Plus with smaller surface area it would not only fit significantly more ammo, but also take a lot less air resistance while hitting a lot harder.

Try adding a piece of rubber to the top of the barrel at the end to create backspin (hop up), this will give you more distance (maginus effect). We use this in airsoft but should work on this too.
P.S I think your vids are awesome and your enthusiasm for making things helps me do the same.

Drive the feeder with a stepper and an arduino so you can control the firing rate and add a single shot button
A stepper would not have the power required to spin the drum (not a reasonably sized one at least) but a encoder in the drum would probably do the trick.

This is the biggest nerf gattling gun, but not the best, if you want to see a better handmade one, check out Tyr by captain xavier. His shoots 60 rounds a second. And you can actually carry it because its lightweight. So check that out. Also check out Eir, his twin flamethrower and his tactical jolt.

This is awesome!! I would love to see you make another version of this where the ammo is stored in a backpack. That way you can make the gun portion smaller and easier to aim.

what i really like is that you could somewhat easily scale this design down to fire normal rival rounds, change the handle design a bit, and you'd have a burst fire, 74 round, rival blaster that I really want now.

I think it shoots more konsistent when you add a pushing fan.
You should remake this smaller with those smaller nerf balls... Maybe make it like a machine gun replica. That would be so cool.

what a cool build!!!! the more I watch, I keep thinking that you have MORE to share. The lessons learned can be distilled. You must get your fair share of failed prints. How do you recover? How do you deal with such large prints? (glue partials together, etc?) What are you learning about your CAD design process? How do you tackle certain connectivity and orientation and other issues? Please consider adding this sort of content to your videos, or a different type of video. We could learn so much more from your experience!
