    This man did a remarkable job figuring out a better way to swing that's up to today's baseball and breaks the outdated mechanics from the 80's and then he had the guts to defend his theory against a lot of people who don't have a better way but still have to try to bring him down. Shout out to you sir.

      No one swings like that. Even judge doesn't.

      Watch acunas load, and release…he literally holds that bat straight up, turns the bat like teacherman and finds the back of the baseball 🔥🔥🔥🔥

    • @Skullcracken
      @Skullcracken ปีที่แล้ว

      @@srtpete1353 I definitely have. He does not snap the barrel. He's in a supinated wrist position at load, and he maintains that supinated load position. Because the slow motion swing videos of Acuna youre referencing are outside pitch when you do supinate early. But it is still not like Teacherman at all. At elbow tuck, Acuna's barrel is around a 45 degree angle from horizontal on an outside pitch. Teacherman at elbow tuck, the barrel is horizontal at rear elbow tuck.

      @@SkullcrackenI agree with you, Acuña is one of the few outliers who ball out with just pure skill and athleticism. But the majority of upper-echelon players do what teacherman preaches, not to the same extent tho as teacherman exaggerates because that is the feel you should have

      @@ryanwilson7241I wish I could post stillshots. He doesnt preach it as feel. Every video he states or demonstrates "all in" forceful wrist/barrel snap at launch. Absolutely does not happen. Hitters turn the barrel "knob to ball."

    Richard, I'm looking forward to helping my 11 year old boy rebuild his swing after Fall ball concludes. You've been on our radar for many months, but we didn't want to make drastic changes mid-season, being a decent hitter as he is. I figure there's lots of us coach/dads that'll be woodshedding their kids in preparation for next Spring; hopefully many will be here utilizing your channel. Anyway, thanks for being here doing what you do!

    I really hope you’re working with Volpe this offseason. If he performed the way he did his rookie year with an inefficient swing, I could only imagine how well he’d perform in 2024 with your teachings!

    Can you analyze Gary Sheffield swing. And his similar move you’re doing pre swing.

    • @bobbyjones7609
      @bobbyjones7609 ปีที่แล้ว

      i mean do you really need him to analyze that to understand? he is literally just cocking his wrist and uncocking them over and over the same way as the ball was rolling in this video. he just did them from a more ready position and richard did it from in front and said to slowly move back. gary just did the same thing but from a more ready and back position.

      @@DannyBling i mean, it seems like you watched the video and then came to the conclusion that this looked and seems like what sheffield did in his pre-swing routine...
      why would you need him to tell you that they are similar actions and that he was just doing the move to remind his wrists hands and elbows how he wants them to fire? similar to why tony bautista's stance looks just like the "10 toes-coil" drill or whatever.
      it seems like you are asking a question to validate your thoughts and feelings but you already know the answer.
      sorry if i came across harsh. maybe some new/young player, coach, parent seeing sheffield's routine would help them understand the movements that are trying to be taught.
      my bad

  • @dape8993
    @dape8993 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This guy is correct when he discusses turning the barrel and coiling in the load to create a hinge and corner and accelerating from the back and not the front. Where he misses the mark is when he yanks his lead shoulder and head off the ball as he swings. Need proof? Watch Tommy Pham's home run tonight. Or here on TH-cam, Freddie Freeman slow motion swing or a video this guy has referenced himself: Josh Hamilton slow motion swing.

    • @stannelson4414
      @stannelson4414 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is not about the front shoulder. It’s about the tilt at launch.

    • @dape8993
      @dape8993 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong wrong wrong wrong. The tilt is important but every big leaguer has a tilt to some degree. Watch the videos I cited. They all keep the head trained on the ball before, during and after contact. This guy yanks his head off the ball. NO big leaguer does that. Heck, he works with Judge and he doesn't yank his head or pull his shoulder!@@stannelson4414

      I'd say it's player dependent. I'd say either 2 or 4 lbs.
      If you Google: "4lb Strength Exercise Medicine Ball Rhino Ultra Grip with Straps" you will see different types.
