    Absolutely LOVE your entheusiasm, bro!!! And I find you to be VERY informative. Haven't been fishing since I was a kid; and haven't been but a few times (I can count those experiences on one hand). But watching you and others here on YT makes me want to go fishing again! I've also never caught anything as big as what you've been catching... with the exception of the pike - caught ONE on Lake Ontario when I was 12 or 13 years old. I hope the Lord allows me at least one opportunity to go fishing [SUCCESSFULLY] again before I leave this world.

    Pretty fish, pretty lake, decent size, that looks like fun, Clayton.
    For me to fish lake trout I'd have to fish Lake Superior, and that's to big for me, or small lakes in the Boundary Waters canoe area where you can't get a boat like yours into. I have a similar Alumacraft but older. So I've never fished for them but I wish I could. I've got muskies, though, and that makes up for it.

    • @ClaytonSchickOutdoors
      @ClaytonSchickOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This trip I was running 30lb braid and 20lb floro. On my big bait rods I was running 50lb and 50lb floro, you really have to match the lines to the lures you are using not so much the fish you are fishing for.

    Hey Clayton! Saw on the live stream you are switching to a new craft next year 😃. Curious why move from the Alumacraft? Out of favor with it, to just looking for a change? We’re getting a competitor 185 in the spring. Always appreciate your input!

    • @ClaytonSchickOutdoors
      @ClaytonSchickOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Few reasons I am switching, but I had wanted to get into a new boat this next year and the new 188T Delta from Starcraft is going to be a good boat for what I want to do. It is a lot like the 185 as well. You will like that boat, I have nothing against mine at all. But if its not too late I'd check out the 188T as well from Starcraft, you might be surprised :)

    @adamkoindustries88 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another quality video, but what else would I expect from you? Question: I have noticed on most of your videos, when you hold up a bigger fish for the camera, you don’t often extend your fingers to cradle across the whole belly. What’s up? Are you hiding your hands so we can’t tell you are holding the fish three feet out in front of you? XD

    • @ClaytonSchickOutdoors
      @ClaytonSchickOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a guide, I have learnt how to hide your fingers for the best photo possible :) I also think my arms can only reach out about 2 feet, not 3 ;) Notice I also say fish sizes? I don't pretend they are bigger then they actually are :)

      @ClaytonSchickOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @evanhammond7305
      @evanhammond7305 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ClaytonSchickOutdoors is middle water column is that a rule of thumb? There isn't much for lake trout in Alberta we have peerless lake, cold lake. A few mtn lakes with stoked lake trout and some lake way north without access. I uselly catch my Lakers in a mtn reservoir called Abraham lake it's the first dam on the the north Saskatchewan River vary close to banff national park. I noticed in the winter I uselly get me Lakers there in the middle of the column nothing big really biggest I've personally got there was 28 but is was actually in the river below the dam. Yes the north Saskatchewan river has some lake trout near nordegg.

      Thank you for your input, it's always appreciated. If I just did 5 mins of just fish catching and didn't take people along for the story I would have less followers. Most people want a story line and to be along for the ride. If you look around TH-cam you will see guys that make 5 minute videos end up having no following. Like I said it's much appreciated, and yes most of the time I feel like some of my videos are too long, but to be honest, my longer videos get more views than my shorter videos....
