- Starting a new series highlighting cheap gear on the used market that DOESN'T suck! This will mainly be focused around Guitar amps and cabs, but I will eventually work in guitars and pedals as well.
Week #1 features the Jet City JCA50H, a 50w all tube head inspired and designed by Mike Soldano and manufactured overseas. Have a see with your ears!

I own three JCA50 heads. I also own a Jett city 50watt single 12 combo amp. In my opinion the combo is more versatile than the heads. The combo has a depth knob and the heads dont. I dont know why they did not use a depth knob on the heads as well. The depth adds so much more rich tones. Very good video and playing

Hellyeah sounds great! Im gunna get a 22 or a 50 soon and mod the piss out of it. But if I can scrape the $ together jet city is about to be making runs in USA for not alot. Alot of options available too.
The specs on the new jet cities look dope- cant wait to see what those sound like

Blue Voodo makes me think of being 15 years old trying to sound like choke hold in 105° degree garage.
Harley Benton sells a 2x12 for $250.00 including shipping and it has Celestion Green Backs. The speakers are $130-$150.00 ea. Figure that one out. The price has probably gone up, but I saw a video today and that was the cost. A vertical angled cab. Half what anyone else is putting out.

Rad you threw in the soaked in torment riff, actually saw Taras use this amp live once with AOW. How difficult is it to start up doing TH-cam vids? Been on my bucket list for a while now
Thanks Man! Honestly, I always thought it seemed daunting but I'm literally using my cell phone, a Focusrite 2i2 interface and a couple cheap mics, and free video editing software. The video editing is by far the hardest part, and it's honestly not hard. Videos like this one are just a striaght shot with no editing for me, so all I have to do is sync the audio and video and post!
Is it normal that sound flubbs out with mv past 1 oclock? Mine gets oversaturated and sound like shit, and i find that around 12 o clock is sweet spot.

Hey man! Instead of a series, I think I'm just doing to do a dedicated video or two on a couple different amps. The ultra 60, this jet city and a Bugera come to mind

On this video you sound like Matt Damon Haha. I had one of these and it was just too muddy for me. Might have been my cab pairing with the oversized Mesa. And I’m not captain widdly wah. It did sound much better with a tube screamer on it.
weirdly i like it most with a line6 cab, its the flattest cab ever but it just throws the midrange into the room like a grenade, it helps clean up that muddyness by giving some frequencies above it to give it some definition at least, its def a situational sound

Yes! Standard tuning! A review video that doesn't sound like a bunch of rubber bands. Another sleeper amp is the Stage Right SB20 50w tube head for $399. The high gain channel actually sounds really good not unlike this Jet City.
I'll have to check that one out!
