Hello CP, Fellow Toolhaulics, & Friends: Good Evening Chad & Henry. It's heart warming to finally see Henry at the opening of your video. Chad most of us started with no money & dirt poor. Going down memory lane when I was getting started I still have wrenches that are over 61 years old. You are 100 % correct every tool has its place. Well said & well done, 😊😂, TMP from N.J. 👍.

I also appreciate you making people aware that a certain company makes its billions from the "working/middle class" and then donates millions to another entity, whose entire raison d'être, is to eliminate said ""working/middle class."

Those wrenches are a lot better than what I started out with when I was a kid. They will serve the 12 year old kid well. I like the satin finish which I feel provides a better grip over full polish wrenches. They would be great in an emergency kit for the trunk. For more frequent use I think I would opt for the Craftsman V series.

I know this is an older video but I found this by actually owning both sets of wrenches and I wanted to hear someone's opinion on the Duratech clones because I personally love them. That being said I love my Mac wrenches far more but I was really impressed with the Duratech when I first received them on Amazon with a coupon for $20. I opened them up expecting a budget but a decent set of wrenches to have at home for my smaller projects away from work and I was blown away by these wrenches for the money. At work I use Mac wrenches but at home I use HF wrenches and I hate them down to my soul lol my SAE at home are a set of vintage made in Japan wrenches but my metric are HF and they make the Sears wrenches feel like Snap on. 😂

I have recently signed up to Amazon Japan after watching Chris and a few others.
I have bought some Koken bits, we all know they are top notch.
But I have also got into "Tone." You don't hear much about them but they are great value. I have a few bits and a couple of nice ratchets. The price range is Taiwan made stuff but I was pleasantly surprised to find out the ratchets are made in Japan.
They aren't Koken or Nepros standard, they need a drop of oil and a little breaking in but once you have done that, they are probable the best value you can buy.

For my first set of wrenches, I Amazoned the Duratech full polish metric set (8-22mm) specifically because I needed the 21mm and really wanted the roll pouch. $27.71 before tax for a Used - Like New condition. I bought all new Icons a month and a half ago after several recommendations from people I trust. However after a very long string of alignments (its pothole season) I had enough and dropped the coin on Mac Precision Torques and was immediately happy and continue to be impressed. The Icons hurt my hands and spread open on stubborn tie rods and jam nuts. No such problems with the Precision Torque wrenches.

I didn't think of Duratech at the time because I'm not really familiar with them. However I think you can add another alternative to this too. Craftsman has a similar design as well. They're a little shorter from the Mac wrench but everything about them is similar. I'm sure you knew that but just thought of throwing that out there.

Having started out with harbor freight wrenches, I agree totally that the pittsburgh wrenches don't really deserve a spot in any pro techs toolbox.
I think they're worth getting as a "Day 1" option, but after a few weeks on the job definitely need to upgrade to something else. I went with the wright grip 2.0. I'm a fan of their design, kind of like the proto professional set, with the porous design instead of the typical full polish finish. Better grip when covered in oil/grease.

Had absolutely no need for them and still haven't used them once due to having much nicer wrenches. Just couldn't pass up on full sets that cheap. But I will say I was thoroughly surprised that they even looked as good as they did and had the nice case. Definitely seemed like better quality than any pittsburgh wrenches I've had in the past and even look and feel better than some of my made in India Sunex wrenches. The Duratech Extra Long Flex-Head Ratcheting Wrenches are beasts though. I continuously do things you shouldn't be doing with them like busting loose rust belt suspension bolts and what not just trying to see if they'll fail but no problems yet.
