A woman who said she had been dating Rowland testified that she saw blood in his car and on a weapon that he had hours after Josephson's killing.
Maria Howard told the court he told her to "mind her business" when she asked why there was blood on a hat she'd left in his car.
Later, she said he was using bleach to clean blood out of the car and was cleaning a small knife.

He equated McDonalds employment with dumb girl. This woman is a single parent working to keep a roof over her child's head and keep her in daycare. She is doing the damn thing. There is no shame in honest work. I know Doctors who were waiters, pharmacists who were cashier's...Stop judging people based on where they live or work. Her reaction to the blood in the car was “I gotta go get my daughter by any means necessary.” A lot of people will assume they would do this and that in a situation they've never been in but when you are scared, you will comply until you know you are safe especially when you have a child. Police also found bloody sheet in her garbage with a match pillowcase upstairs. she knew what happened she’s just trynna to cover her ass and pin it all on Him! I just know i wouldn’t be that scared to leave instead she puts her baby girl in danger sleeping in the same house with him because she was apart of the crime! There’s plenty more proof online there was two people like somebody was wearing his grey Nike sweater while he was arrested and attempted to use the victims credit card 9 times

My heart goes out to this amazing woman. She’s beyond too good for that douche bag of a man. I tell this to my 2 young kids... Something I've lived by since I heard it when I was a teen, not by my own family, but I remember hearing it in highschool I think. "If you're honest and tell the truth, you'll never have to remember anything".
I always thought it was so simple and so true. Honesty had always been something that was very important to me I think because I was raised by narcissistic, manipulative liars. I strive to be as authentic as I can and call bs out when its needs to be called out. Kindness is the way to go. I have kept a close group of friends that I know I can trust to be authentic with me. Its easy when you have enough respect for yourself to not let people walk over you and manipulate and lie to you to weed out toxic people with using honesty, truth and kindness.
Nice people can be fake people, kind people love from their hearts, not their ego's.

Tbf, in the blink of an eye that could have easily been the case. The lawyer could have been attempting to make her an accomplice in the jury’s eyes by making her slip up on the stand. From there, the story can be spun any number of ways.
It does come off in a negative way a lot of the time but it is the defense's job to cross examine the witnesses to give everyone the best picture of what happened. Imagine being the attorney of the defendant, any sane human would realize he is guilty and this is one of the only things you can do and even though it comes off distasteful when the witness is clearly not lying and the defendant has so much evidence against him... you are doing your job as an attorney while making the defendant look more guilty
You have to get a straight answer and verify the statement matches the evidence.
Spontaneous answers to spontaneous questions are genuine answers. Props to both for quick banter.
That’s why I could never be an attorney. You have to be willing to try to twist the truth and deal in a realm that isn’t fair or logical.

I totally get why she just threw the shoes in the closet and minded her business. When you learn your dealing with a monster in live in a community where the police don’t protect you, it’s simply survival. If they killed before they will kill again.
This is really true in many communities. Until the police KNOW a crime has been committed, they can't do much to protect you. This is true even when these monsters strangle a woman but can't quite do it for the 8-10 minutes it requires, so it's only attempted murder. Domestic violence perpetrators get away with this all the time and eventually kill their partners, especially when they leave.

You are absolutely right, take baby steps when necessary until the police get involved, and once they do, start sprinting with the facts. When living with a monster killer, any premature actions, in this case, could have gotten her and her daughter killed.

Judge suspiciously stopped that line of questioning. Detectives testified they never found his DNA. Maria did this crime. Don't date those type women because we see now how conniving and violent they are.
When defense attorneys have zero to work with, it is so painful to listen to them grasp at straws. "You put your daughter into a car with blood in it?" Well, yeah, if she wanted a ride. She didn't know yet that your client had murdered someone - but she was suspicious.
She may be in shock trying to do as any normal person would do and try to seriously understand if/how this guy is seriously a murderer? It's very difficult to truly understand and actually realize that this is true

In order to turn him in she’d have to be sure & had a plan of safety in place first.

They asked though detailed questions of every witness at every trial. Their thought is that no detail is too small. Also, they want to make sure that the witness is credible as far as keeping their story straight. Also, they want no cause for a mistrial.

The defense has no choice but to try & make it seem like the witness isnt credible. Thats really the only thing she could try because all the evidence is pointing the other way. So they just ask the same questions over and over in different ways in an attempt to make the witness switch up the info they gave.
They have to, in order to try to make the witness loose composure. Sometimes that is the only way the truth will come out. A court room is no sunday school. If you are telling the truth, like I believe this lady is, you will come through.

Samantha went through SO much suffering by being killed with that tiny knife. I know they say that he had both blades open when he attacked her but, in the evidence photos, you see that the blades are only 2 inches long & he had to stab her over 120 times for it to even be “effective” in ending her life. That really should’ve added torture to the murder charge & then it would’ve qualified for the death penalty but, either way he’s never getting out & I’m so glad the Judge saw through him & sentenced him to the rest of his life. Poor girl 😔
Note to self: if you ever have to go to court, you need to remember EVERY detail of your life!!
