- Meghan Markle was once instructed to leave the red carpet in an 'odd moment' during an event with Prince Harry in Morocco.
The Duke and Duchess touched down in Casablanca Airport in 2019 where they were greeted by the British Ambassador and his wife before the awkward moment took place.
When her husband Prince Harry stepped out the car and walked the red carpet to inspect a guard of honour, the former Suits actress followed behind but was quickly halted by a member of staff who seemed to be giving her some instructions.

@@chrisf1202 On diplomatic trips. It’s protocol especially in her early years with the Royal Family when meeting other Royal Families. These photos are not shown a lot now but some old footage is still around. I remember seeing some in documentaries on Diana recently. You don’t notice unless you’re watching closely. Diana made it look effortless as she fully understood protocol especially in the Middle Eastern countries. That was where the Duke and Duchess was visiting at the time it happened and Rachel took it as race related and Prince Henry didn’t explain it fully to her.
@@chrisf1202 you don’t understand PROTOCOL as Rachel doesn’t. Rachel shouldn’t even walk in front of Prince Henry or talk before he does and ask permission to leave without him. Prince Phillip always followed protocol. Rachel never has and has never understood that it’s a major part of being apart of the Royal Family. You younger generation don’t get it and need to learn what really Royal Protocol means before making comments about it. Protocol has nothing to do with Racism.
@@chrisf1202 Rachel had Royal Protocol explain to her and was given a folder with everything about it in it. Rachel just thought it didn’t apply to her and it was out dated and she wouldn’t follow it but the red carpet moment when they wouldn’t allow her and made her follow protocol she got herself upset. Well she did the wrong thing and was told. She needs to pull herself up for not following proper instructions and Henry should have explained that you need to do it.
@@naquinto Rachel isn’t Royal by birth but by marriage and there is a difference. Also she and Henry have to walk in the line of succession order at all times and working Royal’s come before them. Have a look a the scarf 🧣 incident outside the church she wasn’t following protocol big time and I understand why all the Royal Family members were upset about it as I was yelling at the TV when I first saw it saying will someone tell this young woman the correct protocol. Henry didn’t do her any good by not explaining it to her. Her disrespect in Australia 🇦🇺 still gets me upset. Protocol is a very important high level of respect and if you don’t follow it you don’t get any back. Rachel thinks she is above protocol well she isn’t.

Had she done her “homework” and read the dossier given to her regarding the protocol, customs and culture of the country, she wouldn’t have not only made an ass of herself but insulted the King and the citizens.

As H was heading directly to inspect the guard, it makes sense as this is only done by the visiting royal/dignitary; wives do join their husbands in this ritual. She should have known this protocol.
I am Moroccan.... this is a military salute given only for royals and heads of state... it is not a read carpet... even the moroccan king, princes and privesses are saluted like that at every event they go to. It is not a read carpet its an official and protocol matter
I don't think anyone was asking if she wanted to sit. In that moment of first greeting they clearly told her to get off the red carpet. I don't really understand why they don't go through the protocol before hand so they know what to do. Though she is always grabbing at him anyway. Pulling and pushing. It would drive me nuts.
