The clip of the guy dropping a weight on his phone escalated so much more than I thought it would.
It looked funny at first that he broke his phone but when it’s smoking, that’s not funny.
I’m like where the hell did all the smoke come from? Does my phone do that?
@@voicecrack7951he probably damaged the battery when he smashed his phone
@@justshanie101 absolutely damaged the battery, phones only "smoke" when that happens. luckily it looked like he was taking it outside since it can easily catch on fire.
@@voicecrack7951 When phone batteries are old, punctured, overheated, or otherwise damaged, they can and do spontaneously combust. It's not uncommon, but it can be a shock if it happens to *yours.*
Do not use water or cover with flammble objects.
Do not dump it in water
Do not leave it in the trash can
Spray it with a electrical-graded extinguisher (read your extinguishers!),
Cover it with a solid pot lid (preferably not glass),
Throw heavy sand/dirt on it (NOT fine particles)
Dump salt on it
So long as you can choke out the combustion process (chemical/electrical in this case) and keep it from spreading until it burns out, you should be okay. If your phone battery bulges, or starts smoking, stop handling it outside of getting it away from nearby flammables.
Feel free to correct me if I misspoke on any of these.
Firefighter here.
In the video where the guy breaks his phone, and it starts to smoke, NEVER do what he did and try to pick it up. He got incredibly lucky.
Lithium batteries when they go into thermal runaway (which is basically catching fire) can explode and jet out flames that reach temperatures of over 2000… If your hand, arm, leg, or any part of your body is gets in the way of those flames, it will melt the skin and muscle right off your bones. Worst case is you lose your entire hand or some fingers. Never ever pick up a smoking electronic device, it's not worth the permanent damage it could do. :)
Good to know. What exactly would have been the right thing to do in this instance?
@@forthebirds4 Maybe a broom and a dustpan to get it away from anything flammable? Oh, and call 911 or the equivalent in your country.
@@forthebirds4 this is exactly what I wanted to know! At least he was in a gym where I don't think anything flammable was around...

Years ago I had a boy scout leader who was a cop. He brought a taser one day and asked if anyone wanted to experience being tased. I of course volunteered, along with four others. He shot the leads at a curtain, and broke the barbs off. He had us stand in a line, holding hands, and put a barb in my pocket and the pocket of the guy on the other end of the line. He was just about to push the button when he stopped and told us to kneel down. I thought he was being overly cautious, but we followed his instruction and knelt. He counted down, and pushed the button. I've never experienced anything quite like what happened next.
All five of us immediately fell forward onto our faces as we lost control of our bodies. It felt like at least 15 seconds, maybe longer, that we writhed on the floor. I was mad because I thought he held the button down for an extra long time. The default is a five second burst. He actually stopped it after about three seconds, but it felt far *far* longer.
That day I learned if a cop ever points a taser at you, you should absolutely do whatever he says
He collected parental permission slips, right? Oh, I forgot, cops are above the law.

It's a requirement for the certification for carrying tasers. Security guards who carry tasers also have to pass this. Believe it or not there's actually a lot of training that goes into those roles.
First, there's the obvious answer of knowing what you're doing to the other person.
Second, there's the possibility of accidentally tasing another cop - say, one in close quarters with an aggressive suspect.
You can bet EMS was nearby.
Usually I don't like spiders nor their webs 'cause Arachnophobia, but this web, truly is smart and planned very well by the specific spider. And also the clip with the "breathing" path way got me real interested.
Good vid as always DDoI :^)
Spiders are normally smart with their webs. Mine know I am in a wheelchair & so they can built their web lower across my front door than they can other people's, is funny to look at them all at dawn & see all above head height, except mine that is lower down, since I don't break it with my head at the height they put it.
You should see spiderwebs in Australia during floods too, they build HUGE communal webs together so as to create an area of safety above the floodwaters
Arachnaphobia was an awesome movie with John Goodman n some other losers I think 😂😂😂

All it takes is accidentally crushing your phone's battery to realize just how dangerous lithium metal is, and the fact that you're basically carrying an incendiary grenade in your pocket all day.
Facts
And then look at EVs that get exposed to water, or salt water and create a flame that cannot be put out by conventional means...and they want us to believe they are green...not to mention it takes an ungodly amount of earth moving to get the rare earth for 1 battery. Lithium is not the way! But I digress...it's dangerous.
And our politicians want us to replace all the gasoline vehicles with electric vehicles which are like that, but times 1000!
I’m going to let fire department chronicles explain it watch?v=tp0FFY4oBsg but yeah, driving electric car is basically the same thing as piloting a 4000 pound fire bomb
Then you have EV car that 100th time worst than phone at minimum
if you paid attention in chemistry class you would know.
1:00 If you break your phone and it starts to smoke like that, don't approach or pick it up. The fumes from a lithium battery fire can mess you up. Not even to mention the potential for incredibly hot flames or even an explosion.
You and everyone else need to evacuate the area.

Comment on 0:03 I have heard of a police cadet that refused to be submitted to pepper spray years ago when it was introduced, I think it even went to court and his defense was, they issue us guns but we don't shoot ourselves to know how that feels!
maybe they should.... maybe then they'll learn to deescalate first.
I think the point is that nonlethal force shouldn't be used recklessly, because it's still incredibly painful and stressful to the target, and that officers will have a higher respect for those weapons in addition to lethal ones as a result.
The fact that the cadet wanted to avoid it indicates that they know how bad it is, so it should be fine.
It’s just formalized hazing. Did you hear them laughing at her? The other cops are always laughing at the person getting tazed. It’s stupid.
@@ellengrace4609 I don't think they can do it without their consent? I'm not gonna deny that there's probably some sort of peer pressure at play behind the intent of the exercise though.
Or maybe people should learn not to resist arrest after committing multiple felonies. 99% of death by cop incidences don't happen if non compliance isn't a factor.

Technically at police academy they can choose between taser or pepper spray (at least here in Canada) but pretty much everyone chooses taser over pepper spray, they do it so you know what you’re gonna be doing to other peopl
When I was little I wanted to be a police officer, then when I learned they have to intentionally get pepper sprayed I went “NEVERMIND” I determined it wasn’t worth it. Now maybe a taser would be a different story. Probably gonna look into it, thank you :D
Here in America they make you undergo both precisely so you know what you’re doing to people and that just because it’s harmless doesn’t mean it can’t really hurt. Actually bit my tongue hard enough to cleave the tip and I got a muscle tear when I got tased.

2:10 we find ourselves captivated by the architectural marvel that is the spiderweb, elegantly spanning from the driver’s side view mirror to the rear left door, with a modest pebble serving as its anchor. Yet, in a cosmic twist of fate, this masterpiece of nature finds itself in the precarious path of the very individual whose appreciation leads to its imminent demise. In this moment of existential contemplation, we’re reminded of life’s delicate dance between creation and destruction, with a comedic irony that leaves us pondering the absurdity of our human existence. Like the spider, we weave intricate webs of meaning, only to have them swept away by the whims of fate.

As someone who's worked in construction, I got a kick out of that measuring tape tattoo.
2:49 , *Fact:* you can't use that on Fluids, because your finger displaces water, hence raising water surface level.
It seems useful for eyeballing/estimating, but I'm sure he'll use a real tape measure for more precise projects. With that in mind, anything bigger than that glass wouldn't be affected too much by water displacement.
Just put it right next to the water outside the cup💀
I’m sure he calculates the displacement when he measures water from a glass with his finger, as one does (so often).
Bro made his phone go into self destruct mode 💀💀
