- The smallest things -- a fraction of a second, a mere five pounds of pressure, a barely perceptible move -- can change the course of our lives forever. That's instinct, and that's what Jake Gyllenhaal loves about what he does.

I love that he's so genuinely passionate about what he's saying. He's not just answering questions he's really interested in the answers
Yeah but there's absolutely nothing wow about a cop knowing why and where the f he's pointing his gun at.
I love the humility of *not* saying "I'm going to bring something to this character," but instead saying, "I need to know what those who do this in real life are about."
One of the greatest and most credible actors imo
Yes I agree. He is great
I absolutely agree. I loved him in Nightcrawler and Nocturnal Animals. He's brilliant.
love his non-scripted answers and no wonder hes considered one of the top actors around as his versatile screen characters shows.
He's incredibly articulate and intelligent- love this guy
Oh My God! My respect for Jake Gyllenhaal just grew tenfold!
There all these interviews and talk shows and actors never talk about these things!! Where has this interviewer been all my life??
I love him, always being natural, simple authentic
totally agree with him. instincts is so important, doesn't matter if you're a teacher or a cop or an actor. so kudos to him.
ok that was interesting. that's a conversation i want to hear more of.
Thats why I love this dude ...he always reminds me of what to concentrate on every single morning
Nightcrawler one of the best performances i've ever seen... anyone else would've ruined it but not Jake the GOAT
Damn these interviews are really good! Also 50k and no dislikes? Unheard of
I love watching Jake's eyebrows moving
Im an actor and i dont know what the fuck he was just talking about lmao he lost me at one point but i love how intricate he is. Very passionate dude. Im inspired somehow
Great answer! Deep.
The greatest actor
My man must of shmoked a j before this interview. Haha he cool as hell.
Him too??? I keep telling that Seinfeld joke to other people. I love it. A TENTH OF A SECOND and then aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawww.
Am I not getting something? These interviews from this dude are fantastic and he gets such huge names that give great interviews but the views are relatively low?? I’m just confused if anyone can inform me?
Jake is one of my favourite movie star
The ratio of likes and dislikes, so beautiful
Jake does not age
trying to figure out what all this means and how to apply it to acting cuz I respect him so much but I'm trying to figure out how to use all this :)
O Dislikes, nailed it
"a really good cop": there's no such thing
The ideal of a cop and the reality are not the same thing, Jake is describing the ideal, not the real.
He went on ride alongs w/LAPD for five months to prepare for End of Watch. Also he researched intensely for Prisoners, which is an outstanding movie where he plays a detective. So he knows more about police work than your average actor.
He said in another interview how all the research deepened his understanding of the difficulty of the job.
you should do archery bro
He probably has...he's really physical and into learning about sports and the arts. Also he's studied philosophy.
Anybody else have hair envy??
Should I have one channel for each passion I have?
I can't quit the fact he did Brokeback Mountain. I think that was one of his "zzt" moments
rts I’m assuming a “zzt” moment is when you make a perfect decision?
ZERO DISLIKE ????
Wonder if Jake was counting on all that instinct and experience and split-second timing when he was getting, um, chummy, shall we say, with Jessica?
Great actor, a bit of a spaceshot.
Is his eye a little lazier because of Southpaw? Or am I reading way too much into things?
what happened? he got a lazy eye from boxing or?
He did a movie called Southpaw, where he played a boxer
It's not because of Southpaw--if you see older interviews he has it going on as well. I don't know if it'd be classified as lazy, either, it's more like his eye lid is just naturally lower for his left eye than right. But I get what you're saying.
I never really noticed it until this very interview lol
Carlos Murillo To be more precise, one of his eyes is more deepset in the eyesocket than the other.
#infj omg
Even tho mine was bought for me by Simon and it was very girthy and rather large
Didn't understand anything he said
Because you're a dumb bimbo.
how could you not? it wasn't that complicated
hes got kinda a lil lazy eye i just noticed
Oh man this didnt age well
what are you talking about
There is no such thing as a "really good cop".
Ashley P there’s such a thing as an idiot: you
