Aruba is one of the most BEAUTIFUL PLACES ON THE PLANET!!!! What makes it so beautiful is it nature and natural character!!!! No need for more building!!!! I absolutely love ARUBA!!! Thanks again for another great video Hyro !!!

I agree Stop the building. Aruba is special because it was different from the other over commercialized islands. Aruba is too small to keep building huge resorts.

Nice walk bro. I agree with you about building to many resorts. It takes away the charm of Aruba. And don't forget there are a lot of entitled loud mouth Americans that want to push locals from the beaches. It isn't right brother. Pagie and I love the Aruban people.

Thank you so much brother👍🏼 and also for your input on this sometimes delicate subject. Let's hope there will be a period that everything can be slowed down or stopped. From there evaluate what is better for all, especially our nature.

There is only 1 street that connects all of the hotels in Aruba (The high and low rise) so I believe that people are exaggerating that the entire island is being flattered with hotels.
If complainers can bring an alternative that can equally boost the islands economy instead of just complaining for the sake of it, would have been wonderful.
    My humble opinion.

Great video. We’ve been coming to Aruba for 20 years. We chose the low rise area early on. Glad we did. The airport experience upon leaving is a nightmare. Your point about growth is well taken. It’s an island not an unlimited space. Politicians never make wise decisions 🤨. Infrastructure must grow with the construction. Water, electricity and wastewater disposal will be stretched to the limit. I hope the low rise area will never morph into high rise. Save Aruba from itself Hyro.

It is so great to see Marleen back with you on your walks. We keep watching your videos to remember our visit last December. Trying to plan another visit because we loved Aruba very much. We learned so much from your walks and were able to do many things we would not have known if it wasn't for you. Thank you very much. Keep it up so we can remember our vacation on the beautiful Aruba. We do agree with you that it should be at least slowed down with the new Hotels and resorts. We did enjoy meeting the two of you at the Bugaloe and hopefully can do this again.

My parents first took me to Aruba in the late 60's when there were only a few hotels on the island. At that time we stayed at the Holiday Inn and fondly remember making friends in the pool with a boy from Venezuela. I have gone back with friends and family over 10x since then and am starting to worry about overdevelopment. I feel the island is about as developed as it should be. We always stay at the Blue Residences (the condos next to the new Embassy Suites) and loved hanging out with the locals at that small beach where you started your walk. I wonder how that will change now. Looking forward to going back for 2 weeks this August. Keep up the great walks.

Hi Marleen and Hyro. My husband and I first came to Aruba in 1974 for our honeymoon. We loved it then and still enjoy our vacations here on eagle beach. We however no longer like to go to the palm beach area and prefer the downtown or restaurants around the island. I’m writing this because I agree totally that the building of such large hotels will overcrowd the island and beaches. Where is everyone going to go to the beach? It really has to stop now.

We were shocked when we first saw this structure up a few years back. It looks so close to the Rui and like it is gonna crowd that area cause it is so close. I feel the same as you, that at some point you need to stop building hotels. Tourism is wonderful for any island or city, but it isn’t fun when it is just so crowded, that you can’t enjoy your time there and it can’t be fun for the locals. Hope this makes sense the way I am trying to explain myself. Thank you for another wonderful video of your island. May can’t come fast enough for us to be there. Hope this finds you both well.

Thanks for your video. I am from Canada and travel to Aruba annually for extended stays. In My opinion there is too much construction of new hotels i think it is at the tipping point where Aruba is going to loose what attracts me to Aruba. The beaches will soon be over crowded, there will be very limited places for locals and renters to access beaches. Prices will make the island less affordable for the working class. As population goes up so does crime, which is evident now, its still very safe but too many tourists bring the drug trade which stems into other crimes. Again my opinion i think in 2 to 5 years it will change to the point where i may stop going. Also sewage / sewage treatment is maxed as evident by the smell by Ambassador, cabanna, blue Etc. Sad to see island getting too busy

My opinion is to halt the growth in the Eagle Beach, Palm Beach Areas. I don’t want the island to lose its charm. I question whether the infrastructure can handle more large resorts. If anything, development should revitalize St Nicholas and Savaneta. It has been my yearly destination for the last 12 years. My favorite spot is the low-rise area La Cabana /Eagle beach.
TravelDutchie is a fun name, Marlene should keep it, especially if she already has a following.

I'm happy with what they did, the mangrove stayed, and instead of having the beach right in front of suites be not such a great beach because there is no space to lay on the beach or anything like that they instead have the beach a bit on the side.
And YES! Marleen should 100% make a solo walk, I'd be interested to see what things she focuses on and thinks are interesting.
That tunnel is quite extensive to cross under what's not even that big of a road. At first I didn't agree with you thinking that it might not be a great investment, but the tunnel seems way overbuilt for the needs.

It makes me a bit sad to see these enormous buildings going up. One of the reasons I continue to come to Aruba is the tranquility and I fear Aruba will just become another average place. Busy, crowded, hard to navigate. Once it’s done, there’s no turning back.

Wow! I was just there in November and they were working it and the tunnel was blocked off. The beach you started on used to be hard packed down with rocks. I have walked from the Playa Linda many times along the water and in front of those mangroves when it wasn’t too mucky. Im glad to see a sidewalk was put in. And I have to agree with you, in my opinion, the Hyatt is the best place to stay on the island, outside of my beloved Playa Linda.

    Such a beautiful video.
I get that people don't want more hotels but what will happen in the future when all hotels on the island are fully booked? Remember the airport is expanding, new airlines will start flying to Aruba. Unless the island has petroleum or gold that it can rely on its own natural resources as a valid reason to stop development.

    • @LetsgowithHyro
      @LetsgowithHyro  ปีที่แล้ว

I would say to stop/slow development if these bigger hotels on the beach and instead develop some resorts inland of the island.
There are many great neighborhoods around the island that must tourist never get to see.
How about we build some 2-3 story resorts in the interior of the island to did find if the tourist love and money to the local area instead of being focused on the tourist areas. These parts can even it shuttle service to the more touristy areas for their guests, it's not like it takes long to get to the beaches from most places around the island anyways.

Enjoy your videos. We've been coming to Aruba since 2005 & it's changed a lot since then. We know folks at our resort (Costa Linda) that have been coming to Aruba for over 50 years & I enjoy hearing how Aruba was back then. I agree with you that the Govt. has to pause & think about the islands future and just not saturate the island with wall-to-wall buildings. On Marleen's channel, IMHO I think she should stick to the Travel Dutchie name - if she went with Let's Go with Marleen, it could be considered plagiarism.

I thought that the beaches in Aruba were public. The locals can still use the beach as long as they don't sit on the hotel's palapas. If they're Not paying customers.
Vacationing in Aruba is Not cheap.

We just watched this new video of the Embassy Suites and it looks amazing. Love the convenience of the tunnel to the beach.
We will be heading to Aruba later this year and staying at the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. Have you done a video of that area of Palm Beach? Haven't been able to find one. Also our vote goes for "Let'sGoWithMarleen". 😊

I first visited in 2001 and don’t believe there were any resorts between Amsterdam Manor and the Rui. Can’t believe that area was approved for commercial building. Sad that the sanctuary is being crowded. The water treatment facility is being overwhelmed too. Plans for an upgrade will be good

I'm dumbfounded by this tunnel. Why?? They built a 3 mile long tunnel to bypass a 20 ft street to cross? No one's going to use it.

I'm not sure unless it's part of a bigger plan we are aware of as of yet. We did notice though that it gives you acces directly from the pool area.

I think it’s easier to just run across the street. I got short of breath watching you walk through the tunnel. Also you never know who could be lurking in the tunnel.

Aruba is beautiful place, but this HUGE UGLY WALL called "Resort" is totally out of all common sense This is not the future, this a Cancun Hotel from the past, just a copy and paste with a really bad "make up" (copy and paste too) ... Next time think in the future, go beyond, be kind to the context and environment.
