Even though I'm an ALABAMA fan, I used to love watching Jeff play, he was probably one of the most fundamentally sound wide receivers I've seen in a very long time.
Alabama is my alma mater. I cringe when their football players speak. Notre Dame players speak like they are professors of English. Bamas may not go to class, but Domers surely do.
Jeff Samardzija is soooooo sick. I wish i would have watched him earlier in his career than just his senior year. I was too into SC so i didn't notice him until late.
He pitched a hell of a game today against the Nats, exception being the HR in the 9th (that could have been prevented had Castro not made the error). Would have loved to have seen how he would have turned out in the NFL, but as a Cubs fan, I can't complain :-)
wow, these highlights are givin me chills. If nd had a defense this would have been the most lethal playmaking team of all time. We'll never see a qb-wr duo like this ever again whether youre for nd or not.
he got a 16 million dollar guaranteed contract plus a couple million in bonus money, I think he is ok with his decision. He was going to be a late first round draft pick so it was the better decision in terms of money. I would have loved to see what he could have done in the nfl too though, although comparing him to Fitzgerald is a bit much
He was the best wide reciever ever i think he had moves and could catch and throw! just like Darren McFadden! He should have went to the NFL i still respect his choice though:(
Oh and about me scoring a TD vs UCLA, I'm not the one getting a full-ride scholarship to play football. But I know of the others who could (Ginn, Gonzalez, Robiskie, Manningham, Roy Hall, and about every other D1-A WR at an average football college
making millions doing what he loves, playing baseball. seriously tho he has maybe the best pair of hands ive ever seen on a wide out. he wouldve been a star in the NFL, rather than another guy in the MLB.
He's actually a solid starting pitcher and doesn't have to take severe physical sacrifices playing baseball, but this dude in the slot, would've been one of the greatest to ever do it.
Oh and after watching the entire play from the snap, Quinn scrambling made the play not Samardzija-barely even touched, just ran and cut by a defender in no man's land w/out a chance. And I was wrong, any college WR (including lower divisions) could have done that.
He is a stud in baseball.hes got a 98 mph fastball.plus 2 million out of the gate.how do u pass that up.and thats just playing in the minors his first year
i completely disagree, great hands, tall, great awareness, he is first rounder all the way, especially with the notre dame td record. he was fast enough to make it in the pros
His pitching delivery remind me of when the Rangers made Jose Canseco pitch :P 3:14 & 3:18 You guys sure that aint Richard Ramirez? LOL just f***ing around. Dude's got too much talent to let it end at the college level.
He chose the right sport. He will be a free agent after 2015 and make over $100 million. Plus it seems like he loves baseball more than football anyway.
Have any of you goofballs seen what he's done for the Cubs? 0.96 era. he's been almost unhittable. Who knows what he would of done in the NFL. Would of he gotten a ring right away? I think with the Cubs, he has a great chance.
why baseball dawg why he coulda been a solid starting receiver on any NFL team right away instead he has to wait like 6 yrs in triple A before he could pitch in the majors
All that and a 95 mph fastball.....he's a hell of an athlete........I think he would have been a special football player but as a pitcher ....nothing special.
GO SHARK......................he can make more money in baseball and i think thats why he chose that. look at MLB contracts, they're ridiculous jack. but yeah he's a freak. quite possibly ND's greatest receiver EVER. move over Mays and Brown.
why did this amazing boy go to baseball???? It's such a boring sport and he was such an AMAZING football player!! He should've gone to the browns with Brady and Darius Walker should've too
You mean UCLA at 7-6, 76 yards against USC (Quinn threw 45 times), and only 59 yards against LSU. Oh and Michigan ... 30 yards (Ohio State 503 total offense). Quinn and Samardzija's stats are so inflated when Quinn throws the ball so many times (mostly against shity opponents) in each game baecause ND can't do anything else (no defense, no running game). Come to the Big Ten or SEC, you'll lose at AT LEAST two conference games every year. Oh yeah, ND is too scared of losing.
he would've dominated the nfl it's a shame he decided to play baseball instead it wouldve proved that whites can dominate at the wide receiving position and that whole stupid stereotype about how whites can never dominate the position the way black athletes do.. he broke every notre dame record for receivers that's saying a lot no doubt he wouldve def. put up some eye opening numbers wouldve made the pro bowl all throughout his career
He would have been a marginal NFL WR- buried on a teams depth chart. He has the peripherals that point to him being a top of the rotation guy for any MLB team. The Cubs did their homework on this guy. He has real world value and huge fantasy baseball value; many years ahead for Jeff and his 200k, sub 3.70 ERA.
ND got blown away three times (Mich, USC, LSU-same score as OSU v Florida) It is also sad that you needed a last second timeout to beat UCLA and are bragging about it
should have gone to the NFL... seriously one of the rawest college WR highlight videos
thank you i love this video u made for years now my favorite stones track n a great wide out love Samardz !!!! go irish ☘️
fantastic
Use to watch this in Hong school ten years ago my en-suite year to get motivation here I am 10 years later aril watching it still gets me hyped
The best ND WR I've seen.
Jeff is my fav notre dame player ever
We need this same video in 4k 😞👀
most def, he was the best wr to pass through nd, we need another one like him cause we suck now
we miss you jeff, you should be on nfl
i been here since this video dropped 😭😭😭😭😭🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝
Nice Video. Jeff is the man.
He was a damn good receiver.
he's got hands, speed, and moves if he went up for the draft you would hear about him for a long time...
this guy was one of my biggestest influences, after I saw my first Notre Dame game, I knew I wanted to be a wide receiver.
oh man... he could be a NFL receiver star!
He Plays with the Cubs
Damn skippy he is playing baseball. He is pitching for the Cubs and he is having his best year ever.
Great great video dude
cutters gloves are the best, period.
Even though I'm an ALABAMA fan, I used to love watching Jeff play, he was probably one of the most fundamentally sound wide receivers I've seen in a very long time.
Alabama is my alma mater. I cringe when their football players speak. Notre Dame players speak like they are professors of English. Bamas may not go to class, but Domers surely do.
jeffs got some swag too , loved the way he played
He never came across as cocky even when he was. It always seemed like he was joking instead of really being mean and taunting others.
WOW! he can up by the defenses of Syracuse, MSU, Air Force, Army, Navy, Stanford, UCLA, etc. He is like the best WR ever! Dream on.
He had his way with USC 2005, so there's that.
he could of been an awesome slot reciever in the nfl
Jeff Samardzija is soooooo sick. I wish i would have watched him earlier in his career than just his senior year.
I was too into SC so i didn't notice him until late.
I'm a Steelers fan, but I would TOTALLY root for the Brown's if Jeff got onto their team.
gifted
its crazy, i played against this guy a few times in highschool, id never think he would be going to the irish and then pitching for the cubs
And being able to play A LOT longer...
1:16 is unreal. Absolutely breathtaking feat of super-athleticism. Thank you, Jeff.
2:00 that right there is why Jeff is great 83!!!!!
i give him 2 years and he will come back to football. hopefully the TEXANS!
Ty Willingham had him on the bench - said he didn't show much when Ty was playing golf. Weiss saved his and Stovall's career.
A joy to watch. The free spirited Mark Fydrich of Irish football. Perfect music too.
My uncle went to high school with him
You're welcome!
yeah he is for the regular season
He pitched a hell of a game today against the Nats, exception being the HR in the 9th (that could have been prevented had Castro not made the error). Would have loved to have seen how he would have turned out in the NFL, but as a Cubs fan, I can't complain :-)
agreed
Thanks for sharing!
All this and he can throw a 97-mph fastball in the MLB
wow, these highlights are givin me chills. If nd had a defense this would have been the most lethal playmaking team of all time. We'll never see a qb-wr duo like this ever again whether youre for nd or not.
perfect music choice for the shark
he got a 16 million dollar guaranteed contract plus a couple million in bonus money, I think he is ok with his decision.

what song is?
perfect song for video. wish he chose nfl though
I heard he still might after he plays out his MLB contract.
i wonder if they have ever inersepted it
I suggest that you keep thinking about those guys because Notre Dame is not going to be good any time soon.
qhats the name of the song? ive heard it but i dont know it.
Now he's one of the best pitchers in the MLB. This guy is literally a freak.
Oh and about me scoring a TD vs UCLA, I'm not the one getting a full-ride scholarship to play football. But I know of the others who could (Ginn, Gonzalez, Robiskie, Manningham, Roy Hall, and about every other D1-A WR at an average football college
Guranteed money in the MLB but the money in the NFL isnt guranteed.
Surprised he never played QB. 6,5 and mobile with a huge arm (I'd think, he's a mlb pitcher)
Pozdrav iz Srbije!!
guys like this that made me want to be a wide reciever for high school
This guy is why Brady Quin was a bust, Made him look way better than he was.
RayDill 6061 Stovall McKnight Fasano & Carlson had so much size he didn't have to be accurate
Damn I miss this guy!
best WHITE receiver ever.
it was safer and probably more money to go MLB..Im with u tho..I wanted to see how hed do in the NFL
making millions doing what he loves, playing baseball.
seriously tho he has maybe the best pair of hands ive ever seen on a wide out. he wouldve been a star in the NFL, rather than another guy in the MLB.
I though he go into to the NFL draft he would've been a top ten pick in the NFL yeah i agree just another guy in MLB.
He's actually a solid starting pitcher and doesn't have to take severe physical sacrifices playing baseball, but this dude in the slot, would've been one of the greatest to ever do it.
+Christopher Fagan And he is going to make more money.
Oh and after watching the entire play from the snap, Quinn scrambling made the play not Samardzija-barely even touched, just ran and cut by a defender in no man's land w/out a chance. And I was wrong, any college WR (including lower divisions) could have done that.
He still could sign with nfl
terrible decision choosing baseball over football..he was great
JEah my serbian american brother
@lilslim808 is he playing bASeball?
yea... samardzija is freakn killn. he can hit 98 and it's not even about his speed... have you seen the movement on his fastball. omg it DIVES
"gimme shelter" by the Rolling Stones
looks like he was a good football player too. Though did he ever get the offer to play pro football???
Could have been the white megatron
He is a stud in baseball.hes got a 98 mph fastball.plus 2 million out of the gate.how do u pass that up.and thats just playing in the minors his first year
i completely disagree, great hands, tall, great awareness, he is first rounder all the way, especially with the notre dame td record. he was fast enough to make it in the pros
1st rd pik easy if he choose football couldve been hellu raw or good compliment guy
Wow i didn't know he was this good. he probably went to play baseball cus it pays more. otherwise he probably would have been great in the nfl.
Long live the 'Shark' ! AWESOME baby !
His pitching delivery remind me of when the Rangers made Jose Canseco pitch :P
3:14 & 3:18 You guys sure that aint Richard Ramirez? LOL just f***ing around. Dude's got too much talent to let it end at the college level.
Without Jeff on the team there would be no Brady Quinn. He made the team
I think with the Cubs, he has a great chance.
why baseball dawg
why
he coulda been a solid starting receiver on any NFL team right away
instead he has to wait like 6 yrs in triple A before he could pitch in the majors
83,000 reasons he shouldve played in the nfl
All that and a 95 mph fastball.....he's a hell of an athlete........I think he would have been a special football player but as a pitcher ....nothing special.
Made the right choice though. Long career tons of money without the brutality
Could been the next jerry rice
Would've made a better NFL WR than MLB pitcher...
GO SHARK......................he can make more money in baseball and i think thats why he chose that. look at MLB contracts, they're ridiculous jack. but yeah he's a freak. quite possibly ND's greatest receiver EVER.
move over Mays and Brown.
wow what mlb team?
i agree, sorry for that comment i posted to that guy. hope it doesn't sound too mean.
why did this amazing boy go to baseball???? It's such a boring sport and he was such an AMAZING football player!! He should've gone to the browns with Brady and Darius Walker should've too

thanks man. i thought it was the stones
what wereyou thinking jeff. you should have went ot the nfl.
I meant I would root for the Browns against everyone except the Steelers.
he would've dominated the nfl it's a shame he decided to play baseball instead it wouldve proved that whites can dominate at the wide receiving position and that whole stupid stereotype about how whites can never dominate the position the way black athletes do.. he broke every notre dame record for receivers that's saying a lot no doubt he wouldve def. put up some eye opening numbers wouldve made the pro bowl all throughout his career

too bad he played for Notre Dame. he could have been something instead of being swallowed up in that terrible program.
Dudes like the white Fitz. A shame he chose baseball.
Should have went to the NFL would of Dominated these weak Defenses Pure Athletism Pat's Brady would had a Field Day if they had him
This. Also, far less risk of injury.
ND got blown away three times (Mich, USC, LSU-same score as OSU v Florida) It is also sad that you needed a last second timeout to beat UCLA and are bragging about it
Damn that would have been awesome. Go BRONCOS!!!
nice
