We don't have Chinese vehicles in America but I know about that smell. Almost everything you buy from China has that smell. I guess it is something in the way they process plastic or the adhesives they use. But even metallic objects like tools from China have that same smell.

Honda stopped selling new cars in Russia in 2022. Stopped production in Russia first, then just exported. Not good. But hey! You can still buy new motorcycles!
😂 Chen gang sounds like "chain gang." Here in the USA, a "chain gang" is a forced labor prison in the 1860s to just 80 years ago, where male prisoners were chained about 6 feet apart and transported for cheap labor repairing roads, working in cotton and food fields for free. Horrible conditions in burning heat with cheap food. I wonder if the Chinese are referring to the 1000s of forced labor prisoners? You are amazing, Ivan! I've been sharing your videos with all of my friends and family. You are gathering a pretty good following here in Indiana, USA. Great Tucker video! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Crappy Chinese plastic comes from recycling plastics of different types together. They grind it up, mix it together with some solvents, (like acetone or similar) and form it with heat as a thermoplastic. But it isn't chemically pure like virgin plastics. An it isn't fully cured so it is off gassing. Eventually over time as all the solvents get released, it will most likely tend o crack and get brittle. If it feels soht or flexible, it usually isn't fully cured, The stuff will breakdown over time. China does not do plastic well. It can have some variation of smell depending on the solvents used. Fully cured plastics should not have a smell. Worse yet is he padding and foam cushioning. All the little cells in the foam trap the smells. Over time they will outgas and the smell should go away. If these materials are made properly and fully cured, he off gassing should fade away quickly, but if not, you are getting gasses from all the chemicals. Carpet padding is virtually 100% recycled upholstery foam, chopped up and mixed with resins. Most cars use similar materials but you'll find quality control on the raw materials are better.
Cheap cars at those prices! But what about the replacement parts availability, the maintenance costs, how fuel efficient are they or not and then there's the reliability of these cheap Chinese cars? It's all a bit of an unknown and a gamble purchasing these cheap cars. Thanks for the look around Ivan an interesting video.
I think they do not need those - they will fall apart after a few years, so nothing to repair. Someone showed on youtube how either gas or break pedal just fell off. Good they haven’t started driving it yet, just ignited. It just froze and fell off 😂😂😂😂
Like every manufacturers, it should vary from manufacturers to manufacturers & variants to variants but for the brands already established in south east asia, they are pretty reliable. It may consume a lil more gas but it's also because it's heavier than japanese cars (the exterior body of japanese cars are usually thinner/flex more for "crumple zone marketing"). But they are definitely better than some european cars like peugeout/fiat. But yeah, every buyer should think about the spare-parts availability just in case.

Remember as well that inflation has been on the roof in the last 4-5 years, so a car that used to cost $20-25k is now costing around $30-35k .... I bought a new Camero in Seattle. It was built last August. It was $29,500. With tax and license it was $33,000. It also has the 4 cylinder turbo engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission. The Camero seems like a much better deal.

Since the start of the Special Operations, Russia has become the biggest importer of Chinese cars, with market share rising from 7% to 50 percent. The Chinese took over that BMW showroom, due to sanctions. There's the Customs Fee, Consumption Tax, Customs Clearance Fee, a possible Scrap fee, and a 20% Value Added Tax onto all of that. I complain about the 6% sales tax on my car.
Besides all the other negative aspects you mentioned, they's big cars for such a small capacity engine - I wouldn't expect much be way of performance, or economy, as the poor engine will be working flat out!
Kinda looks like my 2024 Toyota Corolla, which cost me $24,000. Mine has less shiny plastic chrome. Mine get 42 Miles per Gallon at 80 mph here in Texas. It smells like an American New Car.

The smell is cheap synthetic materials and the chemicals used to make them. All modern chinese cars look decent because they copy the styling of mainstream cars. They look nice but they stick tiny 4 cylinder engines in their large suvs. I love that you have an Escalade. Next to the hamburger, its the most american thing ever. That right there is what most Russians cant do, laugh or joke about themselves. Because ofcourse, everthing russian is fantastic. I know your the exception ivan.
Sorry for my English. Like this guy, I live here, not far from Moscow in a village. All my friends and neighbors are childishly delighted with the Cadillac XT5 that I drive. This is a great car for Russia. And some see him off with squintingly...
I like how the dealership doesn't even bother with salesmen, as they know nobody has any interest in buying these cars. Are these dealerships subsidized by the state to stay open?
$30K doesn't get you much in the USA these days. Decent new cars average in the low forties. Then after 3 - 4 years the cars lose half their value. That's why the used car market is so strong. Love your videos - I like it when they hassle you for filming - everyone shoots video everywhere in the US these days although many companies and private individuals don't like it. Cheers!
They are all lawnmower engines. However, an Escalade in America starts around $70,000. If you got a brand new version of yours you’re probably spending around $85,000.

This author simply made this video to discredit Chinese cars. The author kept saying that the car smelled bad throughout, because he knew that you in front of the screen couldn't find out. The videographer didn't even dare to give a complete close-up of the car, because he knew he was lying. After the author got out of the car, his background instantly turned into a blur. The videographer didn't shoot the details and workmanship of the car, but kept focusing on the author. The broader context is that as of the end of 2023, among the top 10 brands in the Russian market, 7 of them are Chinese. In 3 years in the Russian market, the sales of Chinese cars have increased from 160,000 to 760,000 (Russian market). Many people's impression of Chinese cars is still stuck in 20 years ago. However, since the start of the sanctions, people unexpectedly discovered that Chinese cars, including electric vehicles, have very high quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and intelligence. This is also why by the end of 2023, the sales of Chinese cars surpassed those of Japan and became the number one in the world. If you want to buy a car, this is definitely not a good video. Go and watch professional car reviews.

Because they're not crazy like USA. When I was a kid, a 1977 Corvette only had 180hp, and we thought that was fast. No reason for USA to buy huge vehicles today with over 200hp, unless your hauling something.

Chen gang sounds like "chain gang."
Here in the USA, a "chain gang" is a forced labor prison in the 1860s to just 80 years ago, where male prisoners were chained about 6 feet apart and transported for cheap labor repairing roads, working in cotton and food fields for free. Horrible conditions in burning heat with cheap food.
I wonder if the Chinese are referring to the 1000s of forced labor prisoners?
You are amazing, Ivan! I've been sharing your videos with all of my friends and family. You are gathering a pretty good following here in Indiana, USA.

Hello ignorance, please continue.
Thanks for the video
Cheap cars at those prices!
But what about the replacement parts availability, the maintenance costs, how fuel efficient are they or not and then there's the reliability of these cheap Chinese cars?
It's all a bit of an unknown and a gamble purchasing these cheap cars.
Thanks for the look around Ivan an interesting video.
I think they do not need those - they will fall apart after a few years, so nothing to repair. Someone showed on youtube how either gas or break pedal just fell off. Good they haven’t started driving it yet, just ignited. It just froze and fell off 😂😂😂😂
Yes, a major consideration when picking a car is the availability of parts, how easy is it to maintain, and what will the maintenance cost.
Thanks

Why do most of the new cars only have 4 cylinders and 1.5 liter engine?
Because they're not crazy like USA. When I was a kid, a 1977 Corvette only had 180hp, and we thought that was fast. No reason for USA to buy huge vehicles today with over 200hp, unless your hauling something.
because those are mass produced Mitsubishi engines under license, reliable and cheap (only 110-120 hp though). mitsubishi is making big bucks allowing chinese to produce them. alot of chinese cars use engines based on Japanese car engines, and gearbox based on Japanese/korean models.
Russian registration cost is based on engine size. The bigger the engine the more you pay
@@rossleone9140 Well that makes sense on why no one cares to have a bigger engine. Here, people without that motivation to go smaller will say that more power keeps you more safe on the road, like if you need to get past a convoy of tractor trailer trucks or going through mountains on an interstate.
