I swear i had cheap Chinese shorts (of course they were fake, what else outfit from China) that had some funny industrial smell that you could NEVER wash away completely. They had that smell even taking them out of the washing machine! I immediately threw them to trash as they seemed flat out poisonous to me. 😮 Never seen something like that. Only God knows which materials they used to make and color those shorts. 😅 Then i wear some nice European Zara, Terranova, Napapijri, etc. shorts, made out of cotton and feel like a king, lol. Comfortable and fantastic normal smell.

What do you think cars cost in the United States buddy. You get a lot less here for that kind of money. $35,000 gets you a very basic car here, no sunroof, the same synthetic leather or crappy cloth. In the United States if you want Wow the minimum is $65000 and I mean minimum! Btw an Escalade cost $100,000 and up and they are not the top of the heap by no means.

Here in the USA, a "chain gang" is a forced labor prison in the 1860s to just 80 years ago, where male prisoners were chained about 6 feet apart and transported for cheap labor repairing roads, working in cotton and food fields for free. Horrible conditions in burning heat with cheap food.

Crappy Chinese plastic comes from recycling plastics of different types together. They grind it up, mix it together with some solvents, (like acetone or similar) and form it with heat as a thermoplastic. But it isn't chemically pure like virgin plastics. An it isn't fully cured so it is off gassing. Eventually over time as all the solvents get released, it will most likely tend o crack and get brittle. If it feels soht or flexible, it usually isn't fully cured, The stuff will breakdown over time. China does not do plastic well. It can have some variation of smell depending on the solvents used. Fully cured plastics should not have a smell.
Worse yet is he padding and foam cushioning. All the little cells in the foam trap the smells. Over time they will outgas and the smell should go away. If these materials are made properly and fully cured, he off gassing should fade away quickly, but if not, you are getting gasses from all the chemicals. Carpet padding is virtually 100% recycled upholstery foam, chopped up and mixed with resins. Most cars use similar materials but you'll find quality control on the raw materials are better.

Like every manufacturers, it should vary from manufacturers to manufacturers & variants to variants but for the brands already established in south east asia, they are pretty reliable. It may consume a lil more gas but it's also because it's heavier than japanese cars (the exterior body of japanese cars are usually thinner/flex more for "crumple zone marketing"). But they are definitely better than some european cars like peugeout/fiat.

We were driving every year from Finland to either Italy or south of France, a few times with a trailer when we were moving, so it was very well used. I loved that car, he shouldnt have sold it. And winters in Finland are as severe as in russia and it was standing outside and not a speck of rust, good as new. Awesome car. @@bambinaforever1402 You shouldn't compare old cars with the newer gen cars.....in case you haven't realize it, the recent government emission mandates/regulations force many manufacturers to stick with 1.5L engine and to compensate the power, most manufacturers add turbo system..... so you just can't compare it with older NA 2.4L engine....this 'extra turbo' brings complication that even reliable company like toyota have experienced certain issues ......this is why many cars like bmw m5 are basically junk after 5 years or so.... so the comparison shouldn't have been made in the first place....
Remember as well that inflation has been on the roof in the last 4-5 years, so a car that used to cost $20-25k is now costing around $30-35k ....
Now talking about the 'cheap' chinese cars, there are MANY chinese brands and you can't say that all of them are equal in term of quality. It would also depend on where you at because taxes is huge input which determining price. In my area in south east asia, I could get a chinese cars at around 20-25% less compares to japanese cars with more ammenities.... definitely much better value & more much reliable than european cars like peugeot....

Does Geely sell cars in the USA?
The Geely-owned Polestar, Volvo and Lotus are not only sold here, the brands are also investing heavily in U.S. manufacturing. Earlier this year, Polestar said it would move production of its 2 sedan to South Carolina, joining the 3 SUV and Volvo EX90 SUV starting in 2024

They bought out good engineers elsewhere (Lenovo strategy - or maybe Blue Origin if they buy ULA)

This author simply made this video to discredit Chinese cars. The author kept saying that the car smelled bad throughout, because he knew that you in front of the screen couldn't find out. The videographer didn't even dare to give a complete close-up of the car, because he knew he was lying. After the author got out of the car, his background instantly turned into a blur. The videographer didn't shoot the details and workmanship of the car, but kept focusing on the author. The broader context is that as of the end of 2023, among the top 10 brands in the Russian market, 7 of them are Chinese. In 3 years in the Russian market, the sales of Chinese cars have increased from 160,000 to 760,000 (Russian market). Many people's impression of Chinese cars is still stuck in 20 years ago. However, since the start of the sanctions, people unexpectedly discovered that Chinese cars, including electric vehicles, have very high quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and intelligence. This is also why by the end of 2023, the sales of Chinese cars surpassed those of Japan and became the number one in the world. If you want to buy a car, this is definitely not a good video. Go and watch professional car reviews.

Ivan's an amateur... doesn't seems to know much of cars. Comments are based on his personal amateurish views rather than the vehicle's built, performance, specs etc. Doesn't even get to start the engine let alone obtain a test car to drive for a week as other professional car reviewers do. He's just a wannabe car reviewer, can't take him seriously. Compared to the many professional car reviewers on yt, Ivan's a good country mile behind.

Why do most of the new cars only have 4 cylinders and 1.5 liter engine?

Because they're not crazy like USA. When I was a kid, a 1977 Corvette only had 180hp, and we thought that was fast. No reason for USA to buy huge vehicles today with over 200hp, unless your hauling something.

because those are mass produced Mitsubishi engines under license, reliable and cheap (only 110-120 hp though). mitsubishi is making big bucks allowing chinese to produce them. alot of chinese cars use engines based on Japanese car engines, and gearbox based on Japanese/korean models.

Russian registration cost is based on engine size. The bigger the engine the more you pay

@@rossleone9140 Well that makes sense on why no one cares to have a bigger engine. Here, people without that motivation to go smaller will say that more power keeps you more safe on the road, like if you need to get past a convoy of tractor trailer trucks or going through mountains on an interstate.
