Owen, i typically find you to be one of the most level headed, realistic guys out there but i have definitely disagreed when you started turning on eth and saying injuries aren't an excuse. Of course they are! Listen, we know this team has always been 1 injury away from bringing back in players that we already KNOW can't play high line, possession based, attacking football. So I'm not really sure what you guys expected when we couldn't stay fit. Then it was exacerbated when guys like Miro had a major drop off.
The fairest criticism of ten hag, in my mind, is that his stubbornness makes him look naive. I feel like he kept trusting players to do things that they just can't do - at least not in this league. To a certain extent you have to admire a guy that sticks to his guns but imo i think he held on a bit too long.
No matter who the manager is, we need depth. And if he know we have a good manager even if flawed, its never made sense to me to sack him before his contract ends. Let's get proper recruitment and let's back him.
But there is still things that are criminal. For example injuries may put us on a lower level than City or Arsenal, but should it be so low we get trounced by Palace, Brighton and Fulham

I hope Ten Hag is fired, if he is retained I will support him 100% because I want more of what we all enjoyed on Saturday, every week! I do not believe Ten Hag can deliver weekly, this season started with 4 defeats in 6 weeks, no injury crisis, and all season no one really knew what style Ten Haag was playing and we often questioned his players, why there was a hole in midfield, why they were shooting aimlessly from a long way out and missing and why the team could not compete for 90 minutes, even last week at Brighton they were outplayed for 55 minutes and were fortunate Brighton were weak in front of goal.
One sunny day in Manchester does not mean that Manchester had a good summer. The same is true of the fantastic Wembley result.
I hope Ineos replace Ten Hag now.
Not seen a name mentioned that is any better than what we have so why change. If they do sack ETH the new manager will be under so much pressure it will make what ETH has gone through look like a walk in the park.

The new manager has to at least match ETH 3rd/8th and 2 trophies. Ineos cannot guarantee that so he has to stay and see out his contract. Then based on the 3 seasons make a decision whether to let him go or give him a new contract.

Where was that Wembley plan and that Wembey performance all season? 4 defeats in the first 6 weeks of the season with no injury crisis was an awful start to the season and results hardly improved all season, 14 PL defeats, 9 home defeats, negative goal difference, worst Premier league position ever.

Through half a season Ineos has shown NO leadership whatsoever - Ashworth doesnt even know when to Email, or when NOT to. No january transfer though clear evidence that it was needed. No backing the team or manager through worst injury crisis in MU history. Before this the club had been in limbo through a YEAR-LONG sale (imagine the workclimate ..?). Then there is ungratefull little childish Sancho and Rashford going out for a drink .. it never ends, it seems. Through all this ETH has behaved like a man, tried installing the discipline, he was hired for. The media has tried to sack him all through his tenure. They should give ETH a new contract to sort out transfers etc and with a break clause if he doesn't make CL next year you can part ways. If ETH can't back himself to do that he is at the wrong club.

We finished 8th with horrible football, everyone has forgotten all the games we had to watch and suffer. We were only 9 points off top 4 and we only missed out because the manager is stubborn
We finished 8th in the league lost to almsot every team in the league bar liverpool and Villa, winning the FA Cup wont change that

Flex has forgotten his heated debate with K G a few weeks ago when he wanted ETH out . Bottom of a poor champions league group . Awful football . No patten of play . Most defeats in a season . Defeats to Wolves and Palace at home .Supporters unrest : 8 th in the league . Poor recruitment like Mount £65 million , Anthony 86 million , Casemero £70 million. Another season is a huge gamble .
But when a few injured players return you see the tactics, ability, etc.. you can't overlook the fact we've had no back four all season and the domino affect that has on the rest of the playing team. 2 trophies and 3 finals.. with all the shit going on at united in the last 2 years is a small miracle.

The way it stands now at United the players need something extra to play for to motivate them to play their best. This shouldn’t be the case they show up when they want to. Some players need to go to rectify this situation. If they can’t turn up for the regular season games the Owners need to weed out the problem players.

Giving him another season is a good sign of continuity. A new manager will need to settle down over 3 or 4 seasons then we fire him again. Ineos must show footballing knowledge by giving Ten Hag another term. Ten Hag is not an ordinary manager. I like his attitude and determination after having such a bad season. Definitely he can turn things around. Ineos owe Ten Hag an apology
You make some interesting points, but that being said… if the club feel like the current manager isn’t right based on their review and they feel there’s someone on the market that is right for the job, they would be insane to not go and get him because 80% of the fan base want him to stay.
I hate to break it to the fan base but we know far less about football and the way things are going behind the scenes than the people at the club do, even without Berrada and Ashworth being there officially yet.
If the club think he should go they have to trust their decision and not listen to the fans, there’s a reason we aren’t running the football club and I’m pretty sure we would get relegated if the fans took control 😂

Mount was injured whole season, Casemiro had great first season and fell off, Hojlund is doing great for his age and Antony is a flop. Ten Hag also included Mainoo and Garnacho who could become 100m€+ players.

A review of Ten Hag will not take long.
Based on the whole season, not just the one match, when Ten Hag had a plan (where was that plan all season) it is time to fire Ten Hag Now.
One sunny day does not mean we had a good summer. If the rest of the summer was awful we will not say it was a good summer.
There was no injury crisis in the first 6 weeks of the season when United lost 4 times in the PL away at Spurs, then away at Arsenal, home to Bournemouth and the home to Palace.
There was also defeats at Bayern and to Galataseray.
Ten Hag invested about 200 million in players in the summer for that awful start to the season.
There have been plenty of occasions when something close to a first choice Ten Hag team has played desperately poorly and to suggest otherwise would be entirely false.
Wembley was Fantastic on Saturday.
However the truth is that Ratcliffe and Ineos must decide what it is they want for the future of United.
If the occasional against the odds victory earned on the back of 26.5per cent possession against a genuinely top side, as occurred at Wembley on Saturday is enough for Ineos they will do nothing at United ever.
If Ineos, like you and me, want more than that - if they want, as I do, and I hope you do too, a football team that can play on the front foot with its chest out and with the intention of dominating opponents and dictating games - then they will Fire Ten Hag now.
I know there is a romantic feeling to stay with Ten Hag, however the truth is the good news for Ten Hag is that there is not another game to follow the Wembley win.

It is not personal. A great plan that beat City at Wembley and won the cup was fantastic but where was that plan all through the season, certainly we did never saw it, remember how poor his United were, all season.

Then they lost 3 v 0 to city at OT, no injury crisis then either.
United were battling for 4th place in the PL by the end of September, despite 200 million being spent on players in the summer, to improve on the previous 3rd place finish.
One sunny day does not mean we had a great summer and a great plan, for the first time this season, resulting in a fantastic cup final win does not wipe out our memory of a season that saw the worst finish in PL history by United.

I thought they came in to stop the saga at Manchester United? They themselves are making this saga happen again. The fans are demanding the manager stay one more season.
